What you should know is that Slim charmer is a cocktail bar first, with a small menu of Shara le dishes & bites. What we ordered; a dry, dirty, Freezer Door Gin Martini and two Duckworth's. The martini, you have the options of a twist, olives, blue cheese stuffed olives or a cocktail onion. Both cocktails were great, with good flavor. Between the two of us, we also ordered thee bites to eat, which turned out to be plenty of food for us. We decided on the Brown Butter Crab Toast, Steak Tartare and the Warm Autumn Squash Salad - I don't think you can go wrong with any of the dishes - all fantastic. It is wise to make a reservation as the space is small and when we arrived at opening (5pm), there was a line. Most of us had a reservation but I believe not all. Slim Charmer has been open for seven months and sits right beside Wild Child - they're the same owner. Slim Charmer is located on Central with on street parking available. The total vibe of the place is upscale, intimate, moody and romantic. It's the kind of place where you want to savor every minute. I started off with The Great Pumpkin Martini and it did not disappoint. Vodka, orange and pumpkin cordial, it was delicious. I was afraid it would be too sweet but it was perfectly balanced with flavors...making it my new favorite drink. The dates were almost too beautiful to eat (but I did) and they were again perfectly prepared with the crisp bacon and moth watering taste. The mushrooms toast was made with oyster mushroom cream sauce and had a delicious earthy and meaty taste. Hubby said the tartare was delicious and he knows his tartare. Not surprised how good this place was knowing they are a sister spot of Wild Child. The team here have really created a nice and finely tuned menu for a nice cocktail and a small snack. I got the feels of a nice bar in New York upon stepping in. It's dark with great music and it's reservation only or if they have an open spot you can walk in. They don't do standing around spots so it never feels too crowded. Pickle martini was perfect! Had to get 2 lol. All of our food dishes were top tier and executed perfectly. We had a great time at Slim Charmer. We are long time customers of Wild Child as well. We made a reservation and we're seated promptly because the table is reserved for a specific amount of time per party. I was worried I wouldn't have much to eat at this restaurant because I have Celiac Disease and also the menu isn't really available fully online. To my surprise most of the menu is gluten-free and for the items containing toast they can substitute chips if you are gluten-free. I decided to try as much of the seafood as possible be cause I love seafood. My husband wanted to try the steak be cause to be quite honest it looks amazing on their Instagram page. The cocktails are reasonably priced which was shocking because where I am from the drinks cost a lot more. 13$ for a martini or craft cocktails is perfect and I found the drinks to be enjoyable; the lychee martini was my top pick. The seafood was great in my opinion. The oysters were 21$ market price for 6 which is high (over priced in my opinion), but they were good. They were light, refreshing, well shucked, the mineral finish and salinity was nice. I did not however like mignonette because it was overbearing. I do not know if it was too much onion or a lack of sweetness, but it was all acid and personally I love acidity, but this wasn't it. The horseradish and lemon worked well with it. The crudo was great as well. We got a good amount with one side tuna and one side salmon. It just had an overbearing amount of oil. I would still recommend it though. And lastly, the razor clams were fantastic. I think this was my first time having them and I found them to be refreshing. The razor clams were actually my favorite of all the seafood we had. The steak, which cost the most of everything on the menu (85$ I believe) was not what I would prefer in an 85$ steak. I am unsure of how it was cooked, but for me, it was tough and a bit overcooked on the outside. It was still medium rare on the inside, but about 2 inches of the outside were pretty well done beyond what I would like. So, I am unsure if they used a Sous Vide, but I honestly wouldn't order the steak again. The steak however, was beautifully plated and it came with a little salad and grilled garlic on the side. It's a lot of steak and it is worth the money; it's enough for 3 to 3 people. The restaurant is small so be prepared for that and street parking is pretty strained in this area now. Parking is free, but at 7pm we had to park about 5 or 6 blocks away and walk. We had a good time and I would recommend Slim Charmer for a date night or girls night. read more

The hostess confirmed that This doesn't guarantee you will sit right at that time but that your group will be next. They take your # and text you when the table is ready so that was convenient. Our table was ready around 8:45pm. Because it was busy, the hostess advised that we had a 90 minute table time. This would typically be odd however there are only 26 seats in this establishment so makes sense. This is a martini bar that specializes in martinis. Have given this place stellar reviews previously, but this time I left disappointed. 2 things: 1) there was an extremely loud group seated at a table and they were carrying on with the bar staff, celebrating and all having shots...it was ear piercing, impossible to carry on a conversation with someone 3 inches away. Considering the bar staff knew these other people well (it seemed like perhaps they also worked in the service industry), I would have thought they would recognize what a disruption this was causing to all of the other patrons who were turning around looking at them. 2) I wish they wouldn't have such a limited Summer menu.
