Check your bag every time if you're going through the drive thru! I have only been to this restaurant 3 times, always through the drive thru, and they have forgotten things every single time. This time they forgot my side and my kids meal, I stupidly drove off and when I realized it was missing I was already 10 minutes away. That being said their bbq is good, I've only had the pulled pork but it has been very moist and the bbq sauce is delicious. Just wish they would get their act together and get orders right. My review for this Bar B Cuties is based strictly on the drive-thru experiences. This is the second time I come to this particular location. The first time that I came here, it was my first time ever visiting a Bar B cuties franchise. It was already 10:00 PM, their closing time, but even though the doors to the venue had already been locked (my wife got down to check), we were allowed to go through the drive thru and place our order to go. The person at the window was courteous and attended us nicely. Being a first timer, I asked what was ordered the most. She told me about their specialty ribs and recommended the potato with meat. I went ahead with her recommendations and wasn't disappointed. Today, it is my second visit to this location, though I've now visited a separate location. I do see consistency in taste and in service. The drive thru hasn't been completely packed like it's competitor by Nolana usually is and they seem to have more variety. Loaded baked potato with brisket, side salad and baked beans. The loaded baked potato had cheese and chopped brisket. It came with a sweet barbecue sauce, onions, pickles and jalapeño. The side salad had a variety of lettuces, cabbage, carrots, cheese and Newman's Own salad dressing. Barbecue beans were great. Delivery took about 30 - 40 minutes and arrived at my hotel room door. There's always an employee who fails to do their job - make customers happy. I ordered curbside and as stated on the curbside parking space, it says to call the store to notify them you're outside. Whenever the employee came outside with my order, he said to me in a very rude tone, "Next time you order curbside, you need to come inside because we are very busy and don't have time to be coming out to you." Horrible customer service skills. The only reason this gets one star is because the food was good but, I'd expect a franchise to be able to follow recipes and such. Walk in, no greeting. Walk up to order at the registers and employees make no eye contact with you. The cook at the back finally motioned for someone to attend us and all the girl said was "yes" so I replied "how do I place an order?" She took my order but looked extremely annoyed. The manager seems to be more interested in decorating her Christmas tree. Ketchup container was empty so we resorted to ketchup packets from the takeout station. When our food was brought to the table, we were asked if we needed anything else. I asked for shredded cheese that never made it back to the table. Pretty decent place for some bbq. It's all pretty good quality and tasty. The workers are friendly and the food is served quickly. They also have a nice little bar that has gone mostly unnoticed. Nothing fancy or crafty but you can grab a Dos Equis, a Shiner, a Stella all for $3.50 or under at regular price. They have happy hour all day Saturday and Sunday and in the afternoons normally. Really a very pleasant place to have a quick drink with a friend at a fair price without all the noise and distraction of a sports bar. Plus you can get some good bbq. read more

The smoked turkey is, admittedly, very good, but the brisket was pretty average, and the sides were downright bad. I had the barbecue beans, and it really tasted like beans in a sweet barbecue sauce. I've tried canned beans way better. The 3$ brownie was tiny and a total joke. It had the texture of fudge, and was just really off-putting. I wouldn't eat here ever again. read more

I ordered 1/2 lb baby back ribs (which were so tiny and barely had meat on 'em, it was more like an appetizer) w/fries & drink for $15. Tried my friend's brisket which was ok but, nothing out of the ordinary. In my opinion, everything was overpriced. Non the less I left feeling hungry & unsatisfied. I "might" try it again to try other menu items. But, for now I'll stick to Market BBQ which offers tastier & more fulfilling food at a better if not equal price! read more

My wife and I visited the N 10th location in McAllen last month and was less than impressed, but this location was like... WOW! The difference was night and day! We ordered two chopped beef brisket (which were free because we signed up for their club and each got one in our email), 1/3 pound of smoked turkey, corn on the cob and charro beans. We were each given a free Stella Artois beer and an empty take home glasses with the Stella Artois logo which was totally unexpected (they had some promotion going on). Unlike the other location, this location was very generous with the portion of brisket on their sandwiches and the taste was excellent! The smoked turkey was tender and delicious as were the sides of corn on the cob and charro beans. The free glasses of Stella Artois beer were perfect to wash it all down. The food was fairly good. The ambiance was very nice. The $3.00 Marquitas were marginal and weak. Which seems to be normal in this type of restaurant. The more disappointing thing was that the Shiner Bach rap beer seem to be watered down. I am a fan of the original location over on N. 10th street. This location has the same food but with a few differences. This Cutie's offers a full bar and happy hour while the 10th location just has bottled alcohol. The other location has an indoor playground for kids and this one doesn't. Other than that, it's pretty similar in price, menu, and style. I like this location as it's close to my office. Is it the best BBQ in town? My only complaint would be that the portions felt too small despite being obviously by weight (1/3, 1/2 pound). The wheat rolls (which they charge by piece) are delicious but should offer wheat sliced bread free as they do with white bread. The BBQ sauces at every table will suit any taste {4 varieties). We gave one star for the nice building and another star for the service. We ordered ribs, chicken, and chopped brisket sandwiches for our grandkids. The ribs were dry. I didn't like the flavor at all. The chicken was very dry too. I asked my grandkids if they liked their sandwiches. They said they were okay but they like Rudy's better. A disappointment because this place is so close to our house. Oh well , we are just going to keep going to Rudy's even though it's far from where we live.
