This was my very first visit to this restaurant. I'd heard mixed reviews but decided to give it a shot. As someone who loves BBQ and has tried many places like Lone Star, Ace's, Reyna's, and even HEB, I was curious to see how this one compared. Unfortunately, it ended up being a huge disappointment--especially when it came to the sides, which were the worst I've ever had. What We Ordered: I ordered the Chicken Fajita plate, which comes with two sides (though I'm not sure if I paid extra for the drink). I chose macaroni and potato salad as my sides and even added an extra side of mashed potatoes to try more options. My fiancé ordered ribs with the same sides. Our total came out to about $38, which is pricey for two people. Service and Presentation: The food arrived less than five minutes after we sat down--red flag number one. At a sit-down restaurant, I expect fresh, hot food, not something prepared long before and left sitting around. To make matters worse, we were literally the only people in the restaurant, yet the food was served cold. The portion sizes were underwhelming for the price. The chicken was hard, old, and cold to the touch, although the flavor was decent. The tortillas were hot but hard as a rock, and the pico de gallo was served in a tiny condiment container. I didn't even bother trying it. The Sides: The mashed potatoes were runny and flavorless, as if they were overmixed. However, the gravy was a saving grace with its pieces of green peppers and onions, giving it a homestyle touch. The potato salad was sweet and gritty, likely from a bulk wholesale tub like the kind sold at HEB, and it was far from appetizing. The macaroni and cheese was the biggest offense. It came cold in a Styrofoam cup (as did all the sides), and I couldn't get past the weird, sour taste. It wasn't a sharp cheddar richness--it was sour, like someone added lemon to it. Oddly, my fiancé's macaroni didn't have the same sourness, but it was still bland and unappetizing. It's safe to say my 10-year old brother couldn't have messed up a microwave kraft cup more than they did with their "in house" recipe. I will give credit where it's due. The tea, the variety of sauces, the ribs, and the overall cleanliness of the dining area were all decent. Final Thoughts: In my short 25 years, I've never had such an unpleasant experience with food. I'm greatly dissatisfied and can only hope this was an isolated incident. My advice? Please consider revising the recipes for the above mentioned sides, especially the macaroni and cheese. I'm usually the kind of person who gives restaurants a second chance because I enjoy trying new places and I'm not picky. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back here. It's just not it. read more

Decent BBQ for a decent price. We had a platter that was for the whole family. It wasn't bad at all.

This store just recently opened so we had to give it a try. Moist brisket was THE BOMB!!! Juicy, tender, good smoke ring and a great bark! $7.99 for a half pound is a decent price. I sampled the baby back ribs which were nice and tender but not fall off the bone. They still had some bite. Not sauced, just rub and smoke. Unfortunately due to Covid they serve sauce in little side cups which makes it difficult to get sauce on the rib. We sampled smoked jalapeño cheese sausage and regular smoked sausage. Both were flavorful and delicious. For sides we got potato salad and baked beans. The wife loved the beans and like the potato salad. I'm a dill in my potato salad guy, so this wasn't my fave since it had sweet pickle in it, but it was passable otherwise. They served a nice side of white onion, dill pickle slices and a couple pickled jalapeños too. All in all it was good BBQ by RGV standards and reasonably priced. Since it's closer than the other place for Q that we like, this will likely become our new destination here in Mission. read more

Really good & delicious Brisket. Especially the moist Brisket! I recommend the gringo bowl! Has a kick to it and spicy . The pull Pork sandwich is also delicious, I recommend it as well!! They have choices of sauce ! My favorite the Carolina Sauce ! Friendly service . Greeted us at the counter. Though they need to explain more. Especially when you've never been there ! So I go through the drive thru to order. I tell them my order and they repeat it back to me. I pay and then get my food. Drive home and they forget my half a pound of brisket and I told them all sweet bbq sauces they gave me 1 sweet and the rest hot. I call and tell them the situation and they give me two options both included a free dessert. I chose to drive back up there. I get my missing item and they tell me my free dessert choices and I choose banana pudding. I get home and they give me a brownie......whoever is getting the drive thru orders together either can't read or has no memory of what they ask you. I was the only person in the drive thru so safe to say check your whole order before leaving even if the order is big. How do you make order mistakes twice for the same customer and you repeat what the customer ordered? read more

We had lunch here, and let me say the brisket is fantastic! The selling point for me was the sauce; it was sweet with a lingering kick. The brisket was juicy and tender, and I'm not even a huge brisket fan!!! The cheese fries were equally as good. The order of cheese fries is MASSIVE!! It's easily enough for three people.
