    Sandwich's & burgers - menu

One of my favorite spots in Merced. We have been going here for years and years. Even after the transfer of ownership, nothing changed (In a very good way) The breakfast here is awesome. My go to dish is either the tuna sandwich on sourdough or any of the smokehouse bbq options. The service great, however it's not the quickest place in town. The ambiance is fantastic, old school / hometown diner. It's like stepping back in time and it feels great. Check it out.

1/21/25 Getting lunch! BBQ chicken & ribs plate ordered with extra chicken., extra BBQ sauce, an extra roll and onion rings ordered. The worker was kind and said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I went in to pick it up shortly later. Restaurant is Lunchtime! Order split. It came with veggies and baked beans too! BBQ chicken was tender & DELICIOUS! Same with the rib! GREAT! Baked beans were tasty! Veggies were fresh and great! Garlic roll & rice pilaf were Great too!! I had 1 onion ring and it was crunchy & Delicious too! Mother said hers was Great and she really liked the tender meat!! Lots of leftovers! Good service & GREAT lunch! Highly recommended!

Found this spot through Yelp and it did not disappoint!!…read more First off the pancakes are huge. You could easily share them between two people and they let you choose a sauce for the pancakes, whether that's syrup Nutella or condensed milk. The espresso shots were actually really good. I was shocked because they are literally shots of espresso. They are not alcoholic unless you ask for alcohol in them. This spot actually offers complementary soup before your meal. For us Mexicans, it's called Sopa de Fideo. This soup was actually authentic, and it was really flavorful and good and was basically an appetizer to the breakfast. The espresso shots did come with a side of bread. Personally, I'm not a big person on espresso by itself however, these espresso shots were really good! Now the actual service here was great. Our waiter was attentive She was constantly refilling our water cups and she was able to give us recommendations for what to eat. Also I will add her recommendations were spot on. The inside of this restaurant is really aesthetically cute. There's a bunch of green anywhere outside. They have a cute patio area where you can eat. If you decide to do that! Anyways, I would definitely come here again. It was reasonably priced and it was really good for a breakfast spot. I will say that and the soup was a nice touch because I love soup!

Boyfriend got the chilaquiles. Then we also got French toast on the side. Everything was delicious and portion sizes are huge. We definitely took leftovers home. Casual ambience and family friendly. Wait staff was really nice. She managed both patio and inside tables on her own before another person came in. Recommend!

We came on a Monday morning and the crowd was light as expected being a weekday. We were seated right away. They have both indoor and outdoor seating options but the tables are a bit tight so probably not the best place for parties over 4-5 people. I had the salmon scramble with a slice of pumpkin bread and subbed the potatoes for a fruit cup. I don't know if it was because I was extra hungry but it tasted delicious! There was a lot more salmon in the scramble than I expected which was a bonus! The fruit was great and the pumpkin bread was a nice unique twist to the classic breakfast side options. Nice selections of bakery items! We were greeted promptly and seated. Their menu is a great selection of sandwiches, salads, burgers. My husband had the Salmon salad 2.0, I had a grilled vegie sandwich on focaccia bread. Got the food fast. We were shocked at the size of the salad! It was plated beautifully! My sandwich was delicious. Only tiny complaint.. I wish there were more vegies on it. The fries were crazy good and crispy! Crinkle cut.! There are other options for your sides. I got a piece of pumpkin roll to go. Had to take a bite as we were leaving.. it was divine!!! I can't wait to stop again. The ladies were so attentive and fast. Please stop by if you're in Merced.

From…read morethe moment I walked in, the nostalgic decor and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for a satisfying meal. The service was attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. I opted for the chicken parmesan sandwich, and it exceeded my expectations. The chicken was perfectly breaded and cooked to a golden crisp, while the marinara sauce added a rich, tangy flavor that complemented the dish beautifully. The generous layer of melted cheese on top was the icing on the cake, making each bite utterly delightful. The fries served alongside were equally impressive--cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crunch. They were seasoned well and made an excellent accompaniment to the sandwich. Overall, this diner encapsulated everything one could hope for: quality food, prompt service, and an inviting ambiance. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return for another meal. Whether you're craving classic comfort food or just looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a meal, this diner is definitely worth a visit.

Staff here are friendly, there's a solid bit of history and kitsch in the very back on the way to the restrooms, giving character to what is otherwise a decidedly local, low-frills experience. The steak salad (was it a steak taco salad?) looked quite tasty but also ordinary so I skipped it and stuck with breakfast; the sausage and eggs were very much unremarkable, but at least the hashbrowns were nicely pan fried and the eggs were a large portion. Biscuit and gravy reinforced the former impression, but again, hard to complain-- did the job. This place is super affordable and the overall verdict is a solid local place that's easy to appreciate but hard for me to say I would actually get excited about.

I wasn't very hungry, so I opted for a bowl of soup with a side of cornbread and a slice of pie to go. The soup was hearty and plentiful. I could have gone for a cup instead, but instead took what I couldn't eat to-go and enjoyed it later. The corn bread was delicious--slightly sweet, and moist enough to not fall apart when I cut into it with my fork. I usually love butter with corn bread, which they offered me, but it didn't need it. I wasn't sure which pie to get-they have so many to pick from. Checking out the options in the bakery case didn't help because they all looked so beautiful. I ended up selecting peach, and it was amazing. The peaches were perfectly caramelized but still maintained their texture. The bake of the pie brought out their ultimate peachiness. The crust was just the right thickness. Even though it was a cold slice, the crust remained flakey. The cafe had ample seating. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. Pricing is on the high end, but I'm not sure how much that is because food is so expensive now-a-days. I was a bit surprised to see sandwich combos (with a side) all starting at around $20, and going up from there. It was after 2 in the afternoon, so the bakery had several 50% off boxes of baked goods to select. Four large cookies for I believe $12 or so (I could be wrong). There weren't too many options left in the bakery cases. I would love to see what this place offers when it first opens. Stay tuned for an update once I get that chance.
