We walked in and only one table had people at it so we thought cool this won't be crazy wait times. Wrong. We sat down and waited for the person to take our order. We then waited for about 45 minutes for 2 sandwiches with chips/salad and drinks. Our drinks didn't come until after our food came which we thought was weird. We asked for more water, which never came. The saving grace? The sandwiches were actually pretty good, but the wait times didn't make any sense and we don't think we would visit again for a sit down service but maybe order ahead to go if possible?

Finally stopped in for lunch after walking by far too many times. The service here is great, very friendly and attentive. Everyone had a smile and was prompt and helpful. When asked about menu items they were very educated and willing to answer questions and make recommendations. I was quite impressed with the food and really enjoyed my panini and soup. There were several other menu items I would love to try so I see some future visits coming. Highly recommend stopping in and giving this place a try.

Lunch: Penne with House Made Pesto Cream & Parmigiano-Reggiano + Chicken & Apple Salad on Essential Bakery Raisin Pecan Bread

I stopped by 208 Garfield for lunch with a friend and had a good time. I ordered: Penne with House Made Pesto Cream & Parmigiano-Reggiano and a hibiscus herbal tea. Everything was great and our server was kind. The inside had a nice calm atmosphere during the weekday during noon. One thing I noticed was the server was doing multiple jobs: waiting tables, making food/drinks, taking to go orders so the service was a little slower than usual. Overall: I recommend if you are in the area. I would love to come back to try out more of the menu!

The food is absolutely delicious! I lived in Sicily for 2 years, and it's so nostalgic and comforting to find the beautiful flavors so close to my new home in Parkland!

Farmhouse white cheese panini with avocado, ranch, onion, tomato and spring mix

Enjoying being a big kid with my fancy pants grilled cheese with avocado, spring mix, onion tomato and ranch, Zucchini bread, OJ AND a grilled Nutella sammy with gummy bears ... and to answer your question, yes I did add the gummy bears to the inside of my Nutella Sammich because again, I am a child at heart, and to answer your next question, no I'm not sorry ! :P First time trying 208 Garfield and it most certainly will not be my last! Their menu has creative and mostly healthier options that fit a variety of lifestyles. If you want a sandwich best believe they got 'em, soup ? They got it, Baked goods? You bet your sweet patootie ! If you're vegetarian or vegan you can easily find something here and your carnivore friends *ROAR* should be able to find an option that'll make them happy too so REJOICE! I didn't feel like eating meat tonight so this grilled cheese panini was a fantastic option but I will definitely give one of their turkey paninis a try soon and it's highly likely I will get the grilled Nutella and zucchini bread again as they were such tasty treats. I don't know what brand the gummy bears that came with the Nutella sandwich were but they were big, soft and insanely good... none of that puny hard to chew Haribo BS ! In conclusion, I really dig this place! It's already becoming one of my fave restaurants around the Parkland/Tacoma area. Check 'em out ... if you're a big kid like me who likes Bougie grilled cheese, Nutella and gummy bears (among other things) you won't be disappointed! ;)

Grilled cheese blt, was ok. Side salad was delicious
    Just I.

Came in for a quick bite around 5pm. It was not busy, only one other person dining in when I arrived. I ordered the grilled cheese blt with side salad, a side of chips and glass of the blended wine. Wine was good, smooth and not sweet. Sandwich was ok, I don't think I would get again. I really liked the side salad. The side of chips came out warm and very lightly salted. My waitress was very friendly and checked on my table a few times while I was there. One thing I noticed was a few tables had crumbs and no one cleaned them the hour I was there. I also got the zucchini bread to go and we found it a bit too sweet.

Cute little place, though odd location. I was introduced to it by a friend and the BEST! Great atmosphere for brunch, lunch, or early dinner. Servers were kind and helpful, making sure they had the carmel corn in stock for our appetizer. We got sandwiches and bubbly drinks! Lots of yummy vegan and vegetarian options. Good quality food for the prices. Definitely coming back with my husband to have another great meal!

Loved this place! Stopped in for lunch with a coworker and really enjoyed our experience. The service included polite, personable, and attentive staff members and the food was unique and flavorful. I ordered the beet salad and could not have been happier with my order. I highly recommend the lavender lemonade and almonds to start! There is sometime magical about their almonds. Cheers!

    # Tasting Room Heartbreak: When Man's Best Friend Gets Banned…read more Just found out today was Pickle's last day at one of my favorite wine tasting rooms, and I'm absolutely devastated. As someone who visits weekly, this place has become my weekend sanctuary precisely because it was so dog-friendly. The charm of seeing Pickle's sweet face in the window was something I looked forward to every visit. I can't count how many times I've watched people walking by stop dead in their tracks, point at that adorable face peering out, and decide right then to come inside. Nathan's charismatic hosting is what initially kept me coming back weekend after weekend, but the dog-friendly atmosphere truly sealed the deal. In a world where finding quality places that genuinely welcome our four-legged family members is rare, this spot stood out. To the management: please reconsider this decision. Pickles wasn't just a cute mascot - he was part of what made your tasting room special. As a devoted wine club member, I'm seriously questioning whether I'll continue my visits without the joy of seeing that precious pup. Who else is heartbroken about this? Have you ever chosen a place specifically because it welcomed dogs? #SavePickle #DogFriendlyWineries #WeekendWineRuined

Recently stopped in here for a date night with the wife…read more We've been looking for a decent replacement ever since Tacoma lost the Rhein Haus. Since my wife is of German heritage, brats and kraut are a thing in our life. The menu here looked really good, so we stopped in our 29th anniversary. I will say, there is a parking lot across the street. For those who've been in the area for a while and remember past times, it used to be a used car lot Luckily I found an empty spot on the street right out front, so I grabbed it. But yeah, parking in this area can be tricky. Just be aware that there is the lot across the street on Puyallup Avenue, the entrance is from "Court A", which looks like an alley but is technically a road. Tacoma is fun like that. So let's talk food. We ordered the Brätzel, because my wife loves a good soft pretzel with some beer cheese. This one states that it's a beer cheese soup, and it was a bit thinner than a typical beer cheese. But it had a really good flavor. It was not gritty at all like some beer cheese can be (I'm looking at you Hops&Drops). I'm not a huge pretzel fan, but I will say that I tried a portion of it and enjoyed this one. The pretzel had a good flavor and the beer cheese soup was great. We also split the Landjäger / Käse Platte. Let's get one thing clear, this thing is bigger than it looks on the menu. There's a lot here. I'm really not sure exactly which of the four cheese were which. If you go by the description on the Käse Platte then it should be Bavaria Bleu Crème, Raclette, Emmentaler and Butterkäse. The Bleu Crème is easy to spot. The rest look similar really. But each had a unique flavor and all tasted absolutely wonderful. The cured beef and pork sausages were good, but the cheese stole the show here. We also shared the Berliner Platte for a main. Again, I can not stress this enough, there is A LOT of food here. the two of us had no chance of eating all this. This plate comes with the following sausages; Berliner Bratwurst, Smoked Cheese, Spicy Cheese, Chicken Andouille & Bockwurst as well as being served with sauerkraut and you get to pick two sides. We chose the Spätzle and Pommes (fries). All of this was amazing. The spicy sausage and the andouille were too spicy for my wife, but we knew that going in. If you have a group and are wanting to sample the many wursts here, I would highly recommend this plate. Now, let's talk service. I don't remember our server's name, but she was so great. Very friendly, very tentative, very good at her job. This was exactly the kind of service I look for when I go out to a restaurant. I don't want some tablet where I'm interacting with a faceless machine, I don't want a kiosk, I want a real person who engages with us and helps make our experience the best it can be, and this place gets it. The staff here is on point, they are good, they take good care of you and the experience made s want to come back. This place is for sure at the top of our list for German food here in Tacoma. If you have not been, you need to stop by. It's not big, it's not fancy, you'll drive right by it if you aren't paying attention. But this place is by far the perfect replacement for our missing sausage haus. We are so glad we stopped in.

As we arrived, we weren't sure if needed to seat ourselves but by the time we were about to look at a sign, a kind waitress let us know that we can seat ourselves anywhere and brought us menus. I saw that they had tables with fires which was really cool but unfortunately there were a lot of people sitting there so we just sat at the longer tables. The interior of this place is huge and bright! They have plenty of seating inside and it looks like they do outdoor seating which is dog friendly. We were told that they will have days where they have musicians playing German music and that it attracts quite a large crowd. Our waitress Sara was hilarious, personable and did a great job of taking care of us. She really made the visit all the more memorable and fun! We did order a lot: Berliner Platter with chips and spatzle, Berliner Sliders with fries and a bratzel. We did not realize just how huge the portions were for everything, like the platter was going to be big but we weren't expecting the amount of food for other order. Everything tasted absolutely amazing though! We really enjoyed everything and they do not mess around with flavors cause you taste exactly what they advertised. The house made chips were also fantastic and probably some of the best I've ever had. My boyfriend and I are excited to return and definitely will be sharing this spot to others as we thought we had to drive to Leavenworth for good German food but it is closer to home than we thought!
