Loved the music here, pretty upbeats and quite a range of the ambiance is very warm and modern. Drinks were solid and mine was quite sweet, which I enjoyed. Only complaint is that we felt a bit pressured to keep ordering or "here's the bill" and leave. Normally not an issue but it was a weekday and pretty empty so I didn't understand the rush.

Came with a friend for drinks on a rainy Saturday afternoon. We both e got the espresso martini- the graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate added in are a nice touch. The staff was nice and the ambiance is great- pretty mood lighting, gorgeous chandeliers, not crazy loud, and a variety of seating both at the bar, plus high tops, and some booths and tables as well. Would recommend this spot for sure.

Some of the best/most fun cocktails I had while visiting NYC! We had a Friday evening reservation and arrived a bit early, luckily that made us make the tailend of happy hour! There were a few martini options I had my eye on, and with happy hour, I was able to pick 3 as part of the mini martini flight, a huge score. I got the cornstar, espresso, and Chelsea martinis. The espresso martini was fine, but I'd skip it for another one next time. The cornstar and Chelsea on the other hand were amazing. Would've loved to have either of these in a full size version. Everyone else in the group also liked all of the drinks they got. I got an aviation after happy hour and liked this one too, but the martinis were still my favorite. To eat we ordered the Whipped ricotta and French fries (asked for no truffle), both were great! Overall it's a cool vibey spot with great drinks and some good shareable plates! Would recommend making a reservation just to be sure you can get a table.

Great place! A lot of people rave about it online and I think they live up to the hype. Cute and cozy cocktail bar, great food, I had the spicy rigatoni and the flavor was so brilliantly balanced. The service was absolutely amazing, Dino was our bartender and he was so kind & attentive. Great for a date night, out with friends, solo, anything. Definitely will be back

Came for happy hour on a weekday with coworkers. They do $10 tiny martinis, which is very fun (though not exactly a deal if you consider the portion size). Cold a$$ martini (mini) and Cornstar martini (mini) were both great. Also had a sip of The Chelsea (mini) and the Hugo spritz. Will return! Apparently they do a fun holiday setup.

Such a cute bar with the best of vibes!! Our waitress was really kind and the drinks came pretty quickly. My friends and I went for happy hour and the mini martinis are $10 and honestly seemed a bit steep given the martini is actually so small, so would have rather gotten a full size drink. We all got the cornstar and enjoyed it because it was not too sweet.

Great beautiful spot in prime chelsea surrounded by other cute cafes and restaurants. They do have happy hour but it's not the best deal. Still it's worth the ambiance and gorgeous vibe. Bathrooms are similarly immaculate Servers were quite attentive

New favorite cocktail unlocked?? Must try the cornstar martini!!!! The fresh lemon in the martini paired so well with the buttery and salty popcorn Definitely recommend making a resy. I made mine for 8pm on a Saturday and it was getting packed as the night went on

It's a beautiful bar with happy hour on weekdays from 3-6pm. It would be a nice date spot. Service was fast. They have cute mini cocktails for $10 and regular cocktails for $15. The truffle fries were perfectly crispy shoestring fries with shreds of cheese and a great truffle aroma. I'd love to come back. I loved the aesthetics.

The popcorn and the shrimp scampi were the unexpected stars of the show. Perfect date spot ambiance, sleek throwback design, pricy cocktails (20+ dollar range.) Cornstar martini (play on pornstar martini) was delicious - did not miss the vanilla at all. Accompanying popcorn was really good as well. Split the burger and shrimp scampi and was wowed by the scampi, which had a spicy kick to it. Would love if they started doing hot seafood towers here if it would be anything like the scampi. Popcorn should be an appetizer as well. The burger was okay, I think the tomato jam makes it a bit too sweet. Would recommend for dates and more serious convos, not super ideal for boisterous groups- go to jungle bird for a more lively atmosphere.

Came in on a Sunday night after a late dinner and the place is dimly lit but was playing the old school jams that I was singing to every song! The espresso martini can be made with vodka or tequila, I chose tequila and it was so good! Also, got the Sunday Mini Martini flight (Barnobo, cosmopolitan, and Chelsea) all equally yummy. Stop by for a drink and some good music.

Such a great place to stumble upon between broadway and a comedy show. Solid cocktails. One of the best dirty (spicy) martinis I've had. Great espresso martini. Sweetest bartender. Awesome vibe. Can't ask for much more.

The best truffle gnocchi I've honestly ever had ! Wish it was a bigger portion. The aesthetic is absolutely gorgeous and chic! Went solo to hear a friend dj. Drinks were good and the bartenders were attentive

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious.
