We hit up the bar for a late Sunday night happy hour and was completely blown away. The bar tender was funny, helped us be decisive and even let us try a few things. And the food was unbelievable. We ate here last night and can't wait to go back. There were four of us and we shared everything, and every dish we had was delicious. They thought about every flavor and texture, everything was balanced and beautiful. Faves were an avocado salad (they love avocado apparently), curried fried potatoes and poke tacos. Went there for the first time last night and the food was fantastic. We ordered the following (ranked in order of awesomeness): - Poke Ahi tacos - these were amazing. We could have eaten multiple servings - Clams in green curry sauce - a close second to the tacos. There were a ton of clams in the order. Way more than expected and enough bread to sop up the sauce - Red Curry bowl - Really good, just overshadowed by the awesomeness of the first two dishes - Bacon avocado tempura - This was good, but not as good as the rest. Bacon and avocado made for an interesting tempura dish and the sauces were great, but it just wasn't my taste (although anything with bacon can't be that bad) An added bonus, we walked in at 7 on a Friday night with no reservation and were seated right away. Ate here last night with the wifey for our anniversary. We had high expectations based on the Yelp reviews, and Bar Dojo mostly lived up to the expectations. The pineapple chicken wings were delicious and came with a relatively large serving of 7 wings. But we were disappointed by the seafood crudo. Salmon was tough and fishy. But the oyster and scallop were good. The ginger salad was good. Will order that again next time. We also shared the cod with rice and peppers in aioli and it was really good. Wifey wants to go back just for that cod that melts in your mouth. Service was good but perhaps not quite up to our high expectations. Total bill including a glass of malbec was $70. A bit pricey but a good meal. I'm interested to go back and try some of the other dishes like the mixed tempura and the beef with noodles. read more

First time here, I ordered the pork belly bowl. Oh it was absolutely freaking delicious. If you don't mind your food touching each other and enjoy flavor explosions in your mouth, then I would HIGHLY recommend. Want to come back and try other things on the menu. I have been to Bar Dojo multiple times and have frequented their food truck. Their food is delicious. During COVID I haven't been out much and appreciate they are still open and serving the community. When calling in a to go order, I was saddened to hear I was unable to order happy hour items off the menu for TOGO. In an environment where we are all trying to stay safe and continue to help our favorite restaurants stay open, I was surprised that I would have to dine in, in order to order from that menu. I adjusted my order due to that and went with the pork belly tacos (my fav) and shishito peppers with spicy aioli. When I got home, I was deeply disappointed to see that not only was the spicy aioli missing, but there was no cilantro aioli on tacos (legit my favorite part!!!). I know this is silly, but I was soooooo looking forward to what I would usually experience in the restaurant at home. I will come back, as this is a one time problem (hopefully) and I truly love their food. I can only hope that COVID hasn't caused a decrease in the service once provided. read more

First time, very busy at 5:30 on a Saturday. They open at 4pm. No rez, but the Hostess helped us find a place at the bar. Ordered from the happy hour menu. Everything we tried was delicious. Fried tempura green beans, Ba Mi sliders with pickled Serrano, braised beef tacos with pickles, fried wonton avocado salad. Everything was tesh and house made. It's in a funny little strip mall. Wow. I went here on recommendation from a friend with a group. Mondays turned out to be all day happy hour! The happy hour menu had a wide variety and decent sized portions. Wait staff was friendly and while busy looked like the bartenders and host jump right in to help. I had the pork nachos and beef bowl on HH menu. Also passion fruit creme brulee. We were so impressed with this little restaurant. From the outside, it doesn't look like much as it's located in a strip mall, but the inside is dressed up nicely and has a nice atmosphere. They have a full bar, plus beer and wine. The Asian Fusion menu is one of the most unique, creative, and eclectic menus I've seen. Everything looked so interesting and good! I settled on the soft shell crab & ahi poke bowl while my husband got the duck risotto. Both were large portions and amazingly yummy. We will definitely be bac as there are many dishes we wanted to try. The service was excellent, too. This might be our new favorite restaurant. read more

My wife and I have been to Bar Dojo MANY times. Great menu, great concept and usually great food and wait staff. However that last few times we've been there the wait staff has been slow and the food was just mediocre. It's always been a little on the salty side, but it's a fairly expensive place so the service and the food should not be lacking. $14 for a good cocktail, $18 for a hamburger, $5 for five tarot chips, which amounts to $1 per chip. A few weeks ago we went early enough for happy hour (approx 5:40) but by the time the waitress showed-up it was past 6 pm and she said we could not order happy hour (yes, we were not happy). Truly a great place when they're on their game but not so much lately. read more

We LOVED Bar Dojo! It has amazing food and the staff was friendly and attentive, yet not pushy. The atmosphere was a little cramped and very bustling, which we probably won't pick again for our anniversary dinner, but the food was so good we don't regret it a bit! Bar Dojo is amazing!! We came in for the first time for our 1st anniversary and Bar Dojo made the evening absolutely magical! This restaurant is one of the only I've seen making Covid precautions seem classy - while still 100% keeping you safe. The waitstaff was so kind and beyond generous and the other people in the restaurant were wonderful as well. Fantastic atmosphere, the food was not only out of this world but creative and WELL SEASONED (something that's been hard for us to find.) Argh! Someone please fix the service here, because the food is really good. My husband and I went two Saturdays in a row because the Ahi Poke Tacos were calling to me. The first time, we made a reservation and were seated promptly. The pace of service was a little bit slow, to the point where we were getting concerned about getting home in time to relieve our sitter. But what was really annoying was that half my meal didn't come, despite several assurances it was on the way. For heavens sake, it was just Brussels sprouts! Finally, at the end of our meal as we were asking for the check, the dish appeared, as unwelcome as a guest who arrives after all others have gone home. We decided to give them another chance to make a better impression. Again, we made a reservation and were quickly seated. It took an HOUR for our appetizers to come. When my husband asked our server about it, she cut him off and said, "yeah, yeah, yeah, it's coming." Huh. On another flyby, she said, "I don't get why everything is taking so long. We are fully staffed." I have my doubts about that, as I saw her running clean glassware to the bar on at least one occasion. The table next to ours said they never got one of their dishes. What's odd is that the sister restaurant has the opposite problem: lackluster food and pretty good service. Get it together, people! read more

I placed a pickup order, late night last week. It was probably about 10 to close. The lady that answered the phone was friendly and patiently answered my questions. When I asked if it was too late to order, she said no with no hesitation. When I arrived to get my food the staff was equally as friendly. Bar rung me up while someone grabbed my food. The tacos were amazing! Corn tortillas, delicious pork belly, sweet pickles, spicy jalepenos... I would have never thought to combine those ingedients. Genious! Good food, good service? The food here is always tasty, some of the best in Edmonds. We ordered the bacon and avocado tempura, the risotto, the dumplings, and the pork belly tacos for dinner. Every single item was fresh, unique, and especially delicious. Finished with a chocolate crepe for dessert that was over the top. My only knack on this restaurant is the seating! You either make reservations or have to wait an hour to get a seat. You guys should relocate, feel like you guys would do wonders in downtown! read more

When I visit my sister and brother in law, I always have to go to Bar Dojo...at least twice! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is GREAT! The one must have item...Ahi Poke Tacos. One of the best I've had, outside of Hawaii. The tuna is always fresh and the Poke marinade is perfect. Cannot rave about them enough. Other favorites, Bar Dojo Burger (fries are terrific as well), pork dumplings, pork belly nachos, short rib Tacos..so many things! Bonus - dessert is too good to pass up. If you see sesame fritters on the dessert menu, get them! I love this place! read more

Never been to this restaurant before. Today I decided to get 2 items from the happy hour menu to go. I called the restaurant and asked if I can order from HH menu to go and got a positive answer. Only when I was picking up was told that To-Go prices are different from what menu says. Interestingly enough waitress mentioned that she never heard of this before and was just told by a manager to charge more. So I was charged 32+tax instead of $24. What a nasty surprise. read more

This is hands down our favorite spot in Edmonds, and it's our go-to spot for quick bites, family dinners, date nights, and late-night happy hours. Don't let the location fool you, once you step inside you forget about the five-corners roundabout strip-mall feeling, and are transported to a high-end dining experience. We've been enough times to have tried all of the mainstay menu items and always jump to try new seasonal offerings - but our can't-miss items include the appetizer pork dumplings, coconut shrimp, tempura anything, and for main courses the blackened cod is unusual and so buttery. The drink menu pairs beautifully with the food, and the cocktails are fun and well-crafted. The wait-staff is professional, efficient, and so friendly. I'm sorry to have to write this review. My wife and I were frequent diners at this restaurant when it first opened. The food was excellent. The portions were small and the prices a bit high, but the quality of the dinners made it more than acceptable. The food has since changed to the degree that it frankly is not even moderately good. The quality of the raw ingredients as well as the preparation and presentation of the dishes were sub-par. The prices are also way out of line for the type and quality of the food. We ate at another local restaurant last night and had an excellent meal for exactly one third the price of what I was served at Bar Dojo. Bar Dojo clearly has a local following but we have moved on. read more
