Had lunch at the Bar-H with the SO and his boss. Experienced the longest wait for a special. I think our waitress either forgot or lost our order, as I saw people seated after us get their meals before us. I had the special - top sirloin with sides. The steak was tasty but not a great piece of meat (a little tough and fatty). The SO had the hamburger steak with gravy. We both had baked sweet potatoes with little cups of brown sugar and cinnamon to add - YUM! I did ask if they were unusually busy at lunch, and the person at the register told me that this was unusual and may have accounted for the long wait and delay in receiving our food. First the good...staff. Friendly, courteous, and attentive. Our server was great but I watched and the rest of the group were the same. Food was ok. Crisp, fresh salad bar fixings. Tender, tasty steaks. Fried veggie plate was mixed. The okra was lite an crisp but the fried squash was horrible. You all need to swap that for anything else. Our big problem was the filth. Everywhere you look is caked on grease and dust. The ceiling fans (with bare light bulbs showing) are caked in furry grease. The kitchen, open to the dining room, has orange/yellow walls. Streaked with multiple, half hearted wipes over the past. Truly disgusting. Please have respect for your customers and put a little effort into presenting a clean environment for us to eat. read more

Unimpressed. Tried their Special Club steak. It was cooked and seasoned properly, but the entire center 50% was gristly and inedible. The corn was tasty, but canned. The fries were OK. The salad bar was the highlight of the meal. The cheesecake was commercial. The service was unenthusiastic. The experience was unsatisfying. read more

was given my plate without the steak. 10 min go by and then it was brought to me cold and over cooked. i know better not to send food back at this establishment thought things have changed but has not. 18$ plate should've been a 8$ plate. read more

Monahans doesn't have a large offering of restaurants. I had an early dinner when the place was almost empty. Nice salad bar, pleasant and prompt service. My grilled pork chops were perfectly seasoned, moist and delicious. The green beans were also nicely seasoned and not cooked to mush. Potatoes and gravy were a great compliment to the beautiful boneless chops. I wish I'd come in earlier in the week, this would have been my choice for dinner, each night! read more

Not many steakhouses in Monahans, so this is kind of the best by default. The steaks are full of fat, and the food is hit and miss based on the cook "chef." Kind of outdated and not extremely well lit. It'll fill you up. read more

Me and my family which were about a group of 13 people went there celebrating my daughters b-day -waitress was very rude and when food came out some food plates were cold we asked waitress if she could heat them up and was not to friendly.I went to pay and let hostess of how disappointed I was and wanted to talk to manager but was not there waitress showed up and said that it's Not the first time or last time smerking that this happens there .I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anybody on top that food was expensive and not that Great-(Waitress )-Rudeness.. read more

Over the years, this place has gone downhill. I was there the other night and ordered a chicken fried steak, fried squash, and a baked potato. I also had the salad bar. The steak was tough (I only managed to eat a few bites before giving up) and. the squash was dripping with grease. The squash was also too heavily battered - it barely tasted of squash at all. The salad bar was okay - decent variety for the amount of space, I suppose. The baked potato was, by far, the best thing I ate. Total mediocrity, and my bill was about twenty dollars. Definitely not worth the money, and I wont be going back anytime soon. read more

it like an old saloon in the old west. everyone seemed to know each other. I ordered a ny steak medium rare and got what looked like a prime rib well done with lots of gristle. It was ok I guess for a steakhouse in the middle of bum f egypt. read more

Hit and miss. Sometimes the steaks come out right sometimes they don't. You are safest ordering plain medium. Medium well comes out well done and medium rare comes out eating grass. Service has been horrible every time I've been here. Once I got a good waitress and she was interrupted almost every time she talked with us by another waitress. Only reason I keep coming here while I'm in town is because almost no where else in monahans has edible food. read more

Great food & service was excellent! I had the small ribeye, cooked to perfection. You get a choice of sides & the salad bar was fantastic, it's the only salad bar in town that I can find. They do not serve alcohol but you are free to bring your. Great price for a steak! read more

We've had takeout here several times & just love the food. Always a special & they add lots of items to our takeout orders. I especially like their salad bar. Many items that cannot be found on most salad bars. Yum. read more
