Bar Harbor Manor is the perfect place to stay for a visit! The location is perfect as several restaurants are within walking distance, as is the wharf if you are doing excursions from there! The staff was so friendly and helpful with suggestions. Our first night, we got in late, but Christopher did not hesitate to call around and find us a place for 8 to grab a late evening drink. Constance and Sydney were also super friendly and so informative on all the ins and outs of the area. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Absolutely love the large vanity in the bathroom. The good news here is that this property is within a 15 minute walk to all of downtown Bar Harbor. The front desk staff was very friendly. Our room was clean, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. We had a large refrigerator as far as hotel refrigerators go. The room had a microwave as well, which we enjoy using to rewarm our coffee in the morning. The room came with its own porch area, which would have been nice if we were here in warmer weather. On the negative side, the room is somewhat cramped, with a wall mounted heat/cool unit. The tv was small by most standards, an old 40" flat screen that isn't high definition. . The bathroom was no frills. And maybe the most annoying thing to me was that here in 2024, the owner's couldn't spring for appliances/lamps that included USB connections, or at least provide USB connections. Maybe replace the 1986 bedside lamps? Just a thought. I've since been informed that if you ask for a "Hotel King", you get one of the very nice rooms with a balcony more expensive, but I'd have gladly paid extra, if I knew of the option. The great location is probably the biggest plus to this place. And this includes onsite parking. The location is close enough to walk to everything in town and also very simple (5 mins to the entrance) drive to Acadia National Park. We stayed in a king suite in a building with just 2 units. It was a very nice space! Modest breakfast offerings were suitable-- blueberry muffins, just-add-water oatmeal cups, small Chobani yogurts, hot water, and coffee. They also have a water bottle filler in the lobby, which was great! Christopher and Constance at the front desk were knowledgeable and helpful. Downsides were that this the property isn't fresh and modern; our room had very dim lighting, and the parking lot is tight for a large vehicle. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights for our Acadia park trip. The check in was easy, staff was friendly, he also showed me direction to walk to downtown to get the park map. And he also recommended breakfast place. He also helped me to print out my park pass, and handed to me via my balcony. Super helpful and nice. The room is very nice, bed is comfortable, i love the huge sink table, which allow us to put all our stuff on the counter. That's wonderful. We have a wonderful stay here. read more

If you're going to visit the wonderful town of Bar Harbor, you should stay at the Bar Harbor Manor. Accommodations were perfect, clean, and it felt like home. Our room had everything we needed and then some. It is located within a 10 minute walk of all the restaurants and happenings, and is also a short drive from Acadia. Constance, Christopher, and Alexis were absolutely incredible. The nicest, most helpful people. We needed a screw driver to fix a bike seat, they had it...we needed recommendations on where to hike and what was open in Acadia, Constance had her Acadia book ready and waiting for me - she made copies of some pages and gave us just the best itinerary for our quick day in Acadia. We were/are so thankful for all the help and hospitality. And we loved it so much we are already planning our next stay in Bar Harbor, and it's no secret we will be staying at the Bar Harbor Manor again. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

Great location to stay in Bar Harbor We totally enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Bar Harbor Manor Hotel. Modern, clean, quiet rooms. We stayed in a King Superior Room on the 3rd floor. Lots of room, comfortable bed, nice bathroom with a great shower. Even had a small balcony to sit on. Small touches made this place special. Christopher went out of his way to help answer any questions including a local's view of the best activities, restaurants and bars in Bar Harbor. At checking and every afternoon there were fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and fresh lemonade available at the lobby. The included breakfast is "take away" each morning. It's delicious and easy.... included yummy fresh baked Blueberry muffins, selection of yogurts, hot oatmeal, orange juice, coffee/tea, etc. Rather than go back to the room with our food, we sat in the rocking chairs on the front porch area. Easy parking. Location was perfect, walked to all the downtown activities, and only 5 minute drive tho Acadia National Park visitor Center. read more

When making reservations, I mentioned that my husband and myself were celebrating our 50 th Wedding Anniversary. The staff, Alexis, Christopher and Constance went out of their way to make it special. We were given the jacuzzi tub suite at Acadia House. This little getaway had just been remodeled. It was impeccably clean. All the furniture and bedding was new and luxurious. They gave us an unbelievable rate. There was a bottle of champagne waiting for us along with flowers and a beautiful card. Speaking with Christopher about Bar Harbor was wonderful as he was so knowledgeable about the historical homes. We have a nostalgic connection with this beautiful town and Christopher helped us with our walk down memory lane. Alexis and Constance made every effort to pamper us with homemade cookies, Kind bars , blueberry muffins, etc. We were given maps of different hikes we could take in Acadia National Park. We didn't want to check out. If you're looking for a place that is welcoming and comfortable, you won't find a better place than Bar Harbor Manor. We were scheduled to stay at the Bar Harbor Manor from August 8 to 11th... My mother-in-law was rushed to the hospital August 1st & admitted... We had to cancel our trip... I called the Bar Harbor Manor Wed Aug 2nd & cancelled the reservation do to medical issues. They said we would loose the $511.00 one night stay we paid in advance. We had to call 7 days before our arrival for a full refund.... NO PROBLEM I called the Bar Harbor Manor & left a message 3 times requesting a credit so we could reschedule our trip to the Bar Harbor Manor at a later date.... NEVER received a return phone call... My husband & I came to Bar Harbor for a few nights and couldn't have picked a more perfect place to stay! The Bar Harbor Manor is in the perfect location- close to downtown Bar Harbor but in a quiet side street which made it perfectly peaceful. It was also very walkable to get to downtown Bar Harbor so we didn't have to worry about finding parking around town. The front desk staff were beyond kind, friendly, and informative of the area. Penny greeted us on our arrival and gave us great recommendations for where to grab a casual meal nearby. Penny, Christopher, and Constance truly made us feel at home during our stay! Every time we popped into the lobby area, if we chatted with one of them it was like talking to an old friend. I have never felt so welcome! If we were ever in a lull on what to do or where to eat, all we had to do was ask whoever was at the desk and they would offer a few suggestions and show us directly on a map how to get there. The fresh cookies/macaroons and coffee etc was a very sweet touch to always have available. The room we stayed in was very sweet & cozy. Felt like a very classic Inn - nothing overly fancy but it was perfect for what we needed. Comfortable bed, mini fridge, nice bathroom with plenty of towels. Truly can't complain! However, when we arrived on the hotel in a raining night 10pm, I was told my schedule date was changed to next day. Walking distance (4-5 blocks) from downtown Bar Harbor, super close to the entrance to Acadia and plenty of parking! Our king bed was one of the comfiest hotel beds I have ever stayed in and was super spacious. It was very quiet, and the bathrooms were great as well. There is no restaurant there, but there are so many places to eat in Bar Harbor that it doesn't even matter. There was a mini fridge and a microwave in our room though, which was very helpful. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay here again if I was ever back in Bar Harbor. read more

I'm giving Bar Harbor Manor a '5' as there was really nothing to complain about during our stay. The hotel is spread among at least 4 buildings on either side of Holland Street, with a shared parking lot for all guests. It is about a 7 - 8 block walk to the center of Bar Harbor, but there are restaurants and shops starting about 4 blocks away. It is located in a section consisting almost entirely of small hotels and B&Bs. It is also less than a 5-minute drive to connect to the main road in Acadia National Park. Check-in was easy; the desk clerk was helpful with advice. They staff the front desk from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., from what they said. They also have a computer / printer for guest use, for things like printing boarding passes in advance, which was nice. I wasn't sure if a smaller hotel would include that. There is no on-site restaurant, but that isn't an issue given the location. Our room was fairly spacious. We used the fridge and microwave to eat any collected leftovers as our final breakfast, which was convenient. It was quiet at night also. It would have been nice to be able to turn off the light outside on the small balcony, but apparently all those are controlled centrally and stay on until late. The curtains were fine for blocking the light, though. I'd definitely consider staying here again if we ever return to the area. read more

Beautiful stay! My girlfriends and I have found our new hotel for our annual Bar Harbor trip. It's the perfect walking distance to downtown but keeps you just out of the chaos for a sound sleep. The woman at the front desk was so friendly. They had complimentary coffee and water stations, as well as freshly baked cookies every day we were there. I love a personal touch like that! We stayed at Bar Harbor Manor on the nights of June 9&10. This hotel seems to get great reviews but we were booked in an old rundown building across the street. The room reminded me of an old apartment above someone's garage that had been furnished with cheap garage sale furniture. To get the room you first have to navigate a very narrow and steep staircase. Once you open the door, you are met with a strong smell of Fabreeze or something that I assume is intended to cover up the real smell of the place. We had to open all the windows and turn the fan on high just to make it bearable. There are uneven spots in the floor, cable wires routed on top of the trim work and cheap extension cords hanging out from under the bed. The whole thing seems to be an old house that was hacked into several 'suites' on a very low budget. I expressed my displeasure when we checked out and was told that next time I should request the main building! This place is not worth anywhere near what they charge. The main hotel may be nice, but I would stay away from the whole thing if I had it to do over. read more

A lovely place to stay! The person at the desk was always incredibly friendly and helpful. The decor is warm and inviting. There were binders of restaurant menus in the lobby which is a great feature. Th property was beautiful with lots of flowers and trees. We stayed in the hotel building. Our room was comfortable and the balcony was great to sit on in the morning and evening. The only real negative was that, we knew they didn't have a full breakfast, but had been under the impression there were apples in the lobby. There was not :-( read more

We booked 2 nights here to celebrate our anniversary. We are normally budget travelers and wanted to upgrade for a couple of nights. We booked a 2-queen bed room. When we checked in, we were upgraded to a king-size room in the house, rather than the hotel (room upgrade, but a *decrease* in price). Christopher, the guy at the front desk was personable and recommended places for us to eat breakfast and dinner based on what *we* wanted...he knew his stuff. We came for a 3-night stay during my 6-year old son's April break. This was honestly one of the best family getaways! We had planned to walk around downtown and explore Acadia National Park. A few highlights of the hotel: (1) The staff is AMAZING! Constance at the front desk specifically was the best "value add" to our trip. She was extremely knowledgeable, patient and kind. She took the time to understand what we wanted to get out of our trip, told us about all of the trails/hikes in Acadia that we might enjoy, considering we have a 6-year old, scanned/printed/highlighted maps of each route for us so that we had specific things to look forward to each day. Constance also packed us up some "to-go" bags of bars and fruit for our hikes, which was super thoughtful. (2) Breakfast/Fresh Muffins and Cookies - The complimentary breakfast spread in the morning had the best selection for picky eaters like myself: Kind bars, breakfast cookies, freshly baked blueberry muffins, variety of fruit, individual cups of oatmeal (so much more convenient than the packets!!). My son absolutely LOVED the muffins and looked forward to them each morning. Every afternoon around check-in time, they served freshly baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby - yum! Hot coffee and tea...and hot chocolate for my son :) Constance even brought out a fresh tray when they ran out, specifically for us to grab some. (3) Perfect Location - On-site parking and short walk away from downtown Bar Harbor with a ton of cute shops and restaurants. Super close to biking trail, so we were able to go on a jog with our jogger stroller to explore Bar Harbor a bit. Really close drive to get to the entrance of Acadia, so super convenient. Grocery store a couple of blocks away, so we were able to stock up with snacks and drinks for the week and keep them in our mini-fridge within our room. (4) Rooms - equipped with mini fridge and microwave (super convenient for stocking up on food/drinks for the week). Super comfy king-sized bed...my husband, son and I shared the bed and plenty of room. Cleaning staff were great. Shower was good water pressure and temperature. Balcony with two chairs and table were great for enjoying wine with my husband and for bringing back breakfast from the lobby each morning to eat. I was supposed to stay at the Bar Harbor Manor, but my father was unexpectedly admitted to the hospital causing my mother and I to have to cancel our trip. Unfortunately, the response I have received so far from the Bar Harbor Manor is that our circumstance is not a good enough reason for them to forego their current policy and refund our trip, despite the obvious financial hardship that is caused by someone being admitted to the hospital through the emergency room. I will be writing to the owners and appealing this with them, but as I have just gotten home from the hospital it is disappointing to have received a response so devoid of compassion. I would have thought that as we grow as a society following a pandemic that has hurt so many, there would no longer be places like this that value money over human decency. read more

We loved Bar Harbor Manor. Our room was perfect for us. We loved it. We were nicely greeted by the Front Desk and she made us feel at home immediately. We loved those cookies, too. The Front Desk was very helpful. She gave us recommendations where we can eat lobster and showed us how to get there on a map. She did that for us for our dinner the next day and our breakfasts. The rooms were clean, people were nice and friendly, but for a $400.00 nightly ticket, not worth it. The rooms were drab, looking like a hodgepodge of 2nd hand store cheap furniture slammed together. The rug was industrial grade brown . Sign by sink : if any dirty dishes are left, you will be charged $25.00. After a 400.00 tab, they'd charge for washing anything? Worse of all, it was two flights of stairs up! I'm 70 and carrying suite cases up is not easy at all. Since it was a converted attic, I kept banging my head at certain spots including while using the commode. Shower was a prefab. It was a three room space, but not anything you'd call a suite based on above. Perhaps their other rooms matched their descriptions on their website, but not ours. - Disappointed read more

I needed something I could afford during the height of the season, was available for several days and walking distance to everything in town so that weighted the rating. Positives Clean Great location a block off the main road into town and just a few blocks walk to everything Decent pricing Negatives Well I think I counted at least seven different patterns in our room LOL wall paper, border, curtains, carpet, bed spread, shower curtain and decretive tile While there is very pretty garden around the building there is no view other than the driveway I would definitely see if they had rooms available if I was in Bar Harbor again. read more

The room was decent, not blown away. Two things that were insanely annoying. VERY BRIGHT BALCONY LIGHTS SHINING INTO THE ROOM EVERYNIGHT THAT CANT TURN OFF, and also a toilet that sounded like someone was hitting it with a pipe for 2 hours starting at 3 in the morning. Definitely will not be back to this hotel again. I'd much rather stay at an Airbnb or camp in the future. We paid more money to have a more relaxing honeymoon here but I'm pretty bummed out. Also scratchy ass towels and no complimentary breakfast? For close to $250 a night (what this place costs) I feel like you can get much more for less at other inns in town. Bottom line: Quaint and quiet bed-and-breakfast sort of place (without breakfast!) about a 10-minute walk from downtown Bar Harbor. Nice to have more of a suite for the price of a hotel room. We stayed here for several days on a trip to Bar Harbor. We were two couples traveling together, so we were looking for a place not far from downtown Bar Harbor that might have some space for sitting around and chatting in the evenings. We ended up choosing the Bar Harbor Manor because they offered a good AAA rate and you could choose your room individually on their website, based upon its characteristics. This was pretty fun -- should I go with the queen bed room with the fireplace, the attic suite with the full kitchen, or one of the newer hotel-like king size beds? I'd describe this place as a "compound" of houses: the one main "manor," one newer hotel-like building with lots of rooms, and several cute stand-alone buildings that only had 2-4 rooms in each one. I found this nice because it was pretty quiet with only 1 or two neighbors adjacent to each room. Our room could have been called "The Rose Room," because it was packed full of all things roses, from the carpet to the several types of wallpaper to the comforter and pillows! It reminded me of a bed-and-breakfast type thing, with a large sleigh bed and old ornate furniture. The suite had a bedroom with ample closet, attached to a sitting area with a fireplace, small table, and kitchenette (no stove or dishes), attached to the large bathroom. The couple we were traveling with had the entire attic suite to themselves. If you could get over the angled ceilings, there was ample space -- a living room that could sit 5+, a full kitchen with stove, oven, and utensils, a bathroom, and a separate bedroom. Both rooms were only accessible via flights of stairs, so consider this if you would avoid going up stairs with luggage. Otherwise, I thought the attic suite would be a great place to host a family for a visit. It wasn't highly decorated nor reminiscent of a B&B feel, but a good place to hang out. We enjoyed purchasing some local beers, keeping them in the fridge, and then having a few when we returned to our rooms in the evening. The staff was great. Very friendly, accommodating, and honest in their assessment of what we should do or avoid. (For instance, don't bother going on a whale watching trip before July if you're looking to see whales!) In the main check-in area, there are umbrellas to borrow, lots of flyers for things to do, the daily newspaper, and a coffee machine. The plenitude of menus also helped us decide on good places to eat. It's about 0.8 miles -- or a 10-minute walk -- to the downtown area, which was fine for us. What a gem! My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't have been more comfortable. We arrived around 7PM and were met by a gracious and friendly woman behind the desk. Score one point right off the bat since I can't stand pretension or snootiness. We'd had a miserable drive up, and to make matters worse my husband was having severe back problems. The solution? An upgraded room with a large (read 2-person) jacuzzi! The upgraded price was extremely reasonable and worth every penny. Better believe we were soaking in the tub in record time! In addition to the jacuzzi the suite included a king size bed, sitting room, kitchenettes and a separate shower. Oh yeah - did I mention there were 2 flat screen TVs? Great for watching all the news on Hurricane Irene. The garden outside our room (complete with arbor and fountain) added even more charm to the experience. Housekeeping was wonderful, too. Only one complaint - and a minor one at that: with so much natural beauty, why the dusty, sad silk plants? Ditch those and you get 5 stars. read more

Solid place! It was a really sweet hotel. We stayed in the King room which had only a single bed and a TV and a bathroom. It was a standard room, clean and a really comfortable bed. The highlight is the location. Close enough to walk to downtown, very kind folks at the reception desk and a really great overall environment. I recommend this place totally! read more
