View from our balcony. Was so pretty and relaxing out there. You could watch the boats coming and going.

We stayed at Bayview for Memorial Day Weekend and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked we loved it there. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was also very comfortable. We stayed in one of the peak king rooms with a beautiful view of the ocean. Highly recommend booking one of these rooms. We were not able to get tickets to see the sunrise, but we were able to see one from our balcony. We also enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee out there one quiet morning. The breakfast was very good with many options to have before heading out for the day. All of the egg dishes were outstanding. They also have a shuttle service that you can take if you want to go out for dinner in town. This was our first time to Bar Harbor and Bayview but it won't be our last.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Bayview Hotel. The location is beautiful and the hotel is very peaceful. The views right on the water are perfect, and you have easy access to Acadia National Park right up the road. There is a nice path to walk from the hotel into the town center (approximately 25-30 minute walk), as well as a complimentary shuttle service from 3:00-10:30pm daily with lovely drivers. My only complaint about this hotel is that they didn't have Diet Coke available for guests. On two separate occasions, I approached the bartender at the bar and requested a Diet Coke, and was told that I could go to the gift shop and purchase one. There were, however, none available in the gift shop (nor was there Coke, Coke Zero, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Diet Dr. Pepper, etc). This seems to me like a pretty basic amenity to provide to guests when paying this much for a hotel, but alas. Overall a good experience for our first trip to Bar Harbor.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the bayview for 4 nights in mid may. This truly was an amazing experience. The hotel had perfect views and was extremely clean and quiet. The view truly makes this hotel so special. When we first arrived the hotel was very empty and when we left it seemed to be all booked out. We never had any issues with noise even being the room right next to the front desk. The hotel is close enough to the town that we never felt like we were far away from the action but we had a nice relaxing place to stay each night. The hotel is also walking distance to the Acadian nature cruises. This was an amazing experience that I also recommend! We did the nature boat tour The staff was so amazing. Truly they take this hotel to the next level. Hannah the front desk employee was so kind and always makes sure to say hello and goodbye and helped with recommending restaurants. We had many conversations and she is truly a gem. Greg was also so amazing. I am guessing he is the front desk manager he was so polite and helpful. Offering to drive us into town in the hotel shuttle and always opening the door for us. Greg also writes amazing tips that you can pick up near the desk. We used all of his recommendations for hiking. He also has one for rainy days but we had perfect weather our whole stay. Matt was amazing to speak with and very kind and informative. Next the FOOD! The breakfast is amazing. Fresh pastry everyday all home made by the wonderful chef. We never felt like we were missing out on meat or not eating enough. They had different egg dishes each day and normally a second hot item. The food was all extremely fresh and being refilled and hot. The chef has worked there for 23 years and does the most amazing job. Fresh cookies in the lobby were our nightly treat after long hikes in the park. Plus hot tea and coffee and fruit anytime of day was a great mid day pick me up to drink on the balcony. They also were kind enough to let us take food back to the room for our early morning at Cadillac mountain. They had many prepackaged options like yogurt and jars of fresh granola and hard boiled eggs. The star of the show is definitely the baked goods I couldn't get enough of them and miss them each breakfast I've had since! They do have a small gift shop with some snacks and waters to buy. This was so helpful to be able to buy small things without leaving the hotel. Overall the bayview is an amazing place to stay with the most kind and attentive staff and I miss it dearly already. I shed a tear as we left and I'm hoping to be back soon.

*one of my top 5 hotels ever* My husband and I decided to stay here to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We splurged on the top floor room that overlooks the bay and we couldn't believe the view. The room was huge - a king bed, two huge chairs, a decent size bathroom, and we were able to watch the sunrise from our bed. We thought it was so sweet that they had a "happy anniversary" card and prosecco waiting for us in the room. Breakfast was fantastic despite being mostly grab-and-go. They are trying to bring back hot breakfast, which was on hold because of COVID. We loved the spread: muffins, scones, yogurts, hard boiled eggs.. Perhaps my favorite was the little jars of homemade overnight oats with fresh fruit. One morning it was blueberry and banana, another morning it was raspberries. So tasty! They also offered little burlap mini-totes so you could throw in some pre-wrapped muffins or trail mix if you are going on a hike. So smart. Some amenities that made the stay extra special and worth the price: 1. Free 'taxi' service into town. You just tell them when you want to go, and when you want to be picked up, and one of the hotel members drives you! This was certainly cheaper than an Uber, and we also felt like we could have some cocktails at dinner without worrying about driving. 2. A 24/7 coffee/tea bar. It was nice to come back from dinner and make a cup of tea before going to bed. They had real mugs and to-go mugs. 3. There is a lovely little bar off the side of the lobby. You can get a drink there and walk out onto the deck that overlooks the bay. 4. Location was convenient if you decide to do a boat tour - it's walking distance to where you need to meet the boat. 5. A little boutique off the lobby with clothing, candles, soaps, jewelry, books, snacks. Fun (although pricey). 6. Fruit-infused water and Whoopie Pies in the lobby 24/7. Apparently Whoopie Pies originated in Maine. Who knew?! This was probably one of my favorite hotels ever - the renovated decor was so modern and cute, with a nod to Maine nature. Local artists had paintings on the wall, and you could tell that the owner and/or designer took great care in making the hotel feel special, modern, and classy - but with a sense of whimsy. Truly a gorgeous place and a lovely hotel. Thank you for making our 10th anniversary so incredible!

Excellent location overlooking Frenchman Bay in Bar Harbor. Rooms face the water. Efficient, friendly, very informative staff. Good recommendations for dining, hiking, tours, swimming, sailing and sightseeing Complimentary buffet breakfast daily and warm fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. Free shuttles to town and to various tours by bus, boat, Cessna airplane. Take Acadia Tours. We were greeted by an American Bald Eagle sighting on our drive in over the water to the hotel! Amazing.

What a great place to stay while visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park! My wife and I stayed at the Bayview for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. The staff were super friendly, helpful and always available. The included breakfast was fresh and varied (it was great) and our server was also helpful in recommending a good place for a lobster roll (Side Street Cafe). We also took advantage of the afternoon/evening bar on our last night met some interesting people. Even though our room was right next door to the bar/kitchen, we didn't hear any noises at all. The room was large with a view out to Frenchman's bay and nothing but a lawn between you and the water. It was about a 12 minute walk into town over a smooth paved path (which we did a few times) but the free shuttle service provided by the hotel was great when the legs were tired from hiking Acadia trails all day. They even had binoculars, walking sticks, backpacks and iPhone lenses to borrow while you were there. Overall we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Near to the town of Bar Harbor but still nice and quiet.

Clean as can be. The entire property is well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room had a huge balcony with large sliding windows facing the water, possible to watch the sunrise from the bed. Beds are comfortable and clean. Great water pressure in the shower. The best hotel breakfast in the US in my limited experience. The afternoon cookies are freshly made and it shows. The last breakfast on the dining room balcony we saw an American Bald Eagle being chased by a couple of crows right over the lawn and water. Wow! That's the first time I've seen an American Bald Eagle in the wild. Impressive. Great way to end the trip. Love this place, I know why this is consistently booked. Thank you.

We stayed at The Bayview July 10-17 & couldn't have asked for a better experience! The hotel was DARLING, everyone who worked there was incredibly sweet, our room was unique & had the most incredible view! We had breakfast there every morning & it was so delicious (it's vegetarian but hey, it's nice to eat something other than bacon in the morning)! There's always someone upfront willing to help you, wether it be to get you a drink (the bar isn't always open but they're always there offering to grab you something) or recommendations on where to go, etc.! The shuttle service at the hotel was so helpful as there's not a lot of options as far as driving services go & the gentlemen who was running it that week was so sweet; but if you miss the hours of the shuttle it's not a long walk to downtown! Our room was eclectic & right up my alley, always clean & just the perfect view to wake up & go to bed to! I couldn't recommend The Bayview more!

Summary: Great water front hotel. Such a relaxing time to be had here. Huge rooms, clean, and very friendly. The Food: I only made use of the breakfast so can't comment on dinner (if it's available?). Each day had different options so that was a great feature. Different egg styles each day. Plenty of options for both vegetarians, vegans, and omnivores alike. The fresh baked cookies at the front desk were fantastic. The Atmosphere: A very cute and relaxing inn by the water. Having the balconies facing the water was great. It was a very quiet and quaint place. Cannot complain. Couldn't hear much, but that may be a function of being at the end of the building. The Service: Very courteous. Gave great recommendations for hikes and rides in Acadia. Tips: Stay the week. Our long weekend was absolutely too short. Can't even imagine how cool Bar Harbor is for Fourth of July.

They keep the lights and music on all night, so no matter when you arrive home, you feel comfortable and safe. The only thing that we missed was access to ice. There is a tiny machine in the breakfast room, but that only makes enough ice for about 3 drinks for the whole place.
