What a beautiful location. Was there for a conference and felt a fortunate to stay in such a beautiful place. My room was on the lower level with a walkout direct to the walking bath around the ocean wall. Watching the boats come in and out and the fog roll across the water was really relaxing. We also had many of our events at the conference center and the staff was truly accommodating of all our requests. Only detractor for me was the shower was kind of dirty looking in the grout. I'm sure it wasn't actually dirty but it was definitely gross to look at. Despite that, great experience and beautiful place.

    Loved the Nest bath products.

Bottom Line: Great location and amenities but a pricy option. My husband and I visited Bar Harbor for the first time and we decided to make it luxurious with a Premium King Ocean (really Bay) Front Room with Hot Tub. We loved the large room that had seating for four plus a little table for two. The king bed was comfy and the bathroom was a good size. The decor was lovely too. The real treat was sitting on the balcony in the quaint hot tub for two. It was very foggy for a lot of our visit so we didn't get to enjoy the views as much as we'd hoped. Regarding the hotel in general we loved the location and being able to take a short walk to many local restaurants and shops. Also, we were able to get into Acadia National Park quickly from the hotel. A high end hotel has high end bath products and Harborside delivered with Nest products. Also, I like that the bar of soap was a good size. As a frequent traveler I appreciate the details. There is a daily resort fee and we didn't really use the amenities beyond the laundry room. It was really nice to be able to wash our hiking clothes before heading to our next destination. The hotel also provided laundry detergent and fabric softener. The hotel was clean - the room, the hot tub and the common spaces. I'm sure the lobby gets a lot of foot traffic and it seems like the hotel was working hard to keep it clean. Also, I appreciate that Harborside Hotel offers daily housekeeping. So many hotels I stay in still are not offering daily cleanings due to COVID or sta A minor nit but the ice machine nearest our room wasn't working the three times I tried it. When I asked the front desk for other options they told me I could go try the other machines and where to find them. That was an ok response but a better answer would have been to offer to bring me ice OR note where I could find ice. Anyway, I never did go on the scavenger hunt to find ice. Coincidentally, two days later at another hotel I asked the front desk where to find ice and she said, "We'd be glad to bring you ice or you find the machine by room 302" - which was the gold standard response in my opinion. And I must close with my usual hotel caveat - Hotels are a little tricky for me to rate because there is a direct correlation between my rating and the price I paid.  But rates can vastly differ depending on the time of the year, day of the week and special events. Even in the shoulder season this hotel was pricy but I would consider it for a future visit.

Harborside hotel did not disappoint. The location was perfect, the views were spectacular, and the rooms were modern and clean. We had a partial view of the water and a balcony. My children enjoyed spending time in the pool area watching the sunset. The staff was friendly and attentive. One of the best things about this location is how close it is to downtown Bar Harbor. We had a vehicle, but did not need it as the everything was within walking distance. Be sure to walk across to the island during low tide. It was definitely a highlight for us. Beautiful area to get family photos. Keep your eyes peeled for celebrities. We met Mike Wolf from American Pickers in the lobby area! He was a really nice guy, and raved about the hotel as well. We hope to return to the hotel sometime in the future!

We stayed for an event. The property is gorgeous. Immaculately maintained and very clean. The staff are all amazing and friendly. The catered event next door at the Harborside Club was really nice. The outdoor patio overlooking the ocean at sunset was magical. The food during the event was delicious. Our room was very comfortable and luxurious. We had a marble bathroom with separate tub and shower. The hot tub overlooking the ocean on our private patio was our favorite part. Highly recommend everything about this hotel.

Paper airplane and a pinto gris!

Came here to stay for a wedding. Every person we encountered was accommodating and kind. The partial island view king room was gorgeous, comfortable bed, lots of room, and amazing views. Ray-Ray the bartender at the hotel bar was very funny & friendly and made great drinks. Close to shops and restaurants too. Highly recommend staying here!

Harborside isn't the cheapest hotel in Bar Harbor but I got a pretty good deal online and decided to pull the trigger. We'd be living out of suitcases the majority of our east coast road trip so, having a nicer place to set down for a few days, seemed like it was worth the splurge. First off, the view is awesome. As the name implies, you're right on the Harbor and it made for a wonderful view of the ocean, the boats, and the lobster fishing in the area. It was a quick walk to the land bridge to Harbor Island, too! It also has a really nice pool and hot tub on the premises (that are both open until 11pm) and across the parking lot guests have access to the Bar Harbor Spa which also has a fantastic pool and hot tub along with full service poolside bar featuring some some snacks and tropical drinks. We spent an afternoon here one day and it was a nice, relaxing break during a trip that was mostly a lot of running around. Our room was huge and the king sized bed was beyond comfy. The room was also quite clean and wifi was solid. Room service is provided by their in house Italian restaurant and one night we ordered pizza and watched Netflix in bed and it was great. A few small cons: This place is huge and KIND of confusing. It took us forever to find our room because we made the mistake of leaving the premises to move our car (the parking lot is nice, tho!) and grab our luggage. It took us a good 20 minutes to find our room when entering from the back because the 1st floor isn't the ground floor in the back. But once we got it figured out we were fine. It's an older hotel and you could kind of tell in a few instances. Like my nightstand next to my side of the bed was cracked in the corner and hastily repaired with some wood glue. The bench at the foot of the bed was also broken and couldn't take more weight than my suitcase lest it collapse into a pile of broken splinters. Not sure I'd pay full price to return here but if I got the same deal we had before I'd more than happily return to Harborside for another visit.

The premier resort in Bar Harbor. Located in the heart of Bar Harbor with its own excellent restaurant and available ocean view rooms with their own hot tub, I couldn't have dreamed for a better Maine getaway. A STRONG perk is complimentary access to the Bar Harbor Club--an exclusive, historic country club with tennis courts, its own pool, poolside bar service, large hot tub, and spa--just to name a few of the amenities. My top recommendation for any luxury getaway in Bar Harbor.

Stayed for 2 nights in a connecting room with an waterfront view. The rooms are spacious and CLEAN. The front staff was good, but the supervisor/hotel manager (she has short blond hair... didn't catch her name) was great. She was so kind and eager to help us in any way she could! Location of hotel was in proximity to all the storeS and shops, so shopping was a breeze. Wish we had used the hot tub and pool, but the weather was quite cold and very windy! So glad that we chose this hotel during our stay in Bar Harbor.

They were definitely not the quality that I usually get at a Hampton Inn. For some reason, the mattresses were marked with the word "summer" in black. I have no clue why. Possibly they put the bad mattresses out for high season. The other furniture in the room was outdated and the fabric was stiff and scratchy. It was not like any other Hampton Inn that I've ever been in. It felt like a two star hotel. They don't even have a microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was adequate. They had lots of options, but when paying over $500 for a room, I kind of expected a little more when it came to the quality. The staff at the front desk changed my room but it didn't make a difference. I did not sleep good not one of the three nights. The pool area was well kept and the grounds were beautiful. I enjoyed sitting at the bench on the hill taking pictures. Only stay here for the view.

This location did not disappoint! I was able to check-in via the mobile app and select a room. The hotel space was very well-maintained. The room was also great with a large king bed a sofa-bed as we requested. The bathroom and water pressure were great. There were lots of outlets throughout the room as well as an iron, ironing board, alarm clock and refrigerator. The refrigerator was larger than most and had a separate freezer section. There was NO microwave in the room...which was a bit disappointing...especially when you are traveling with kids and frequently need to heat leftovers and other items. Instead, there are two microwaves available for guest use in the lobby. The TV was on the smaller side for a room of that size, but had a lot of channels. The free breakfast they offered was great...better than expected with a few hot options including omelets, sausages and home fries. They also have some other great options including yogurt, granola, fruit, cereal, waffle maker with lots of toppings and good variety of bagels, breads and pastries. There also had some cold juices and milk available for breakfast. There is coffee, tea and hot chocolate available for free all day in the lobby! The fitness center was bigger than expected. I used it twice and it was empty both times. Though we did not use the pools, all of them (indoor, outdoor and hot tub) all seemed well-maintained. Other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves while using them. There was a small "business" area with some work/counter surfaces, chairs and outlets. There was also a small play area with a table stocked with crayons and coloring pages, books, a small tent and a TV with cartoons on at all times! A great little area for the little ones to unwind for a few or just wait while the grown-ups check-in/out. There are a few shuttles available from the hotel that go into Acadia...but we drove and did not need that service. Although it isn't a bad idea...even for those with cars as parking at the popular areas during our early-afternoon ventures into Acadia were very challenging during our visit toward the end of August. Short drive to Acadia (5-10 minutes) entrances. Also, a shorter drive into downtown Bar Harbor (2-3 minutes) or a 10-15-minute walk if desired. Large and free parking lot. All staff we encountered were very nice, helpful and patient.

Robes are provided in the rooms, and the room service is from the nearby restaurant Paddy's. Prior to bedtime, we filled out the breakfast room service ordering menu and placed it outside. The first day was great. Room service arrived right on time the next morning. We ate and headed out for the day. I noticed later at night that they didn't leave another room service ordering menu. Figured no big deal, we'll just go down for breakfast the next day. This is when we ran into a few issues - we went down to the restaurant for breakfast at 930 and were told by a staff member at Paddy's that they were backed up with room service orders and she recommended we go across the street for breakfast, or there would be quite a wait. Okay that's fine - we had plans for the day so we ate across the street. A bit frustrating because breakfast was included in our nightly rate. When we got back in the afternoon around 3pm, I noticed the room wasn't cleaned. On the way out for dinner, I spoke with the front desk about housekeeping, and also asked them to make sure we get a room service breakfast order menu as we didn't the day before. When we came back from dinner - only one of the two beds was made. The bathroom floor was not vacuumed, and we didn't have our breakfast order menus. Again, I reached out to the front desk, who sent someone up with the menus. I mentioned the housekeeping issue to the guy who brought the menus up - he clarified that we would like to make sure both beds are made and the bathroom is cleaned .....yes. Felt odd to have to clarify that as this is usually understood. Later that evening we wanted to order room service for dessert - it was difficult to get someone on the phone. Ended up going to the restaurant to get the dessert to-go. The next morning our breakfast did not arrive. I called to follow up - Nicole at the front desk checked with the restaurant and made sure our food would be delivered. Our food arrived, though an hour late and missing one entree. Not Nicole's fault; she was excellent with following up with us. There seems to be some staffing issues as the one person at the front desk is always alone with seemingly a ton of things to be responsible for. I wanted to love this hotel, but the small things do add up. I ended up rather disappointed with my stay.
