The location for this property could hardly be better. The views are amazing. The cruise ships cause some congestion, but also lends to great people watching. The rooms are good size and the beds are comfortable. In room bath products are of good quality. The beverage bar on each floor is a very nice touch. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Our only disappointment is Paddy's restaurant. We are not sure the real connection between the two, but it does not represent well for the hotel.

We had been planning a trip to Nova Scotia for awhile, and when we arrived, Hurricane Dorian caused us to have to change plans. I'm so glad we did, because that is how we found West Street Hotel and the Opal collection! Once we knew we were going to return to Bar Harbor, we went online and started looking at next day reservations. Opal group has Opal discounts for rooms they need to fill, and we scored a super sweet deal booking directly on their website. The location is convenient, in walking distance to everything, with a huge parking lot and generously sized rooms for parties of all sizes. When we arrived, we were greeted with complimentary valet parking, and went inside to check in. The first thing I noticed was the smell- it was divine! I was also very pleased with the aesthetic of the lobby, nautical but very refined. The front desk lady was friendly and checked us in promptly. Our room was in the building adjacent to the building the lobby is in, and is attached via the 4th and 5th floors. The room was gorgeous. The detail was really nice, with a super plush and ultra comfy bed, spotless bathroom, and deck with rocking chairs. I loved that the smell that greeted me in the lobby was the same scent of the bath products, all by Nest brand. Each floor has a room with espresso, coffee, snacks and board games, as well as bottled water at all times. This seemed like a great attention to detail, and went above and beyond the usual. The brand is also very pet friendly, and even has check in goodie bags for furry visitors. The price of the rooms on the Opal rewards was phenomenal. That said, I also think that the undiscounted price would still be worth the price for the overall experience. I was so impressed with our stay here, we hadn't finished our vacation before we were already booking our next return trip to West Street Hotel. From start to finish and everything in between, this experience was exceptional. We also bought a candle with the fragrance from the front desk so we can hold onto our vacation vibes once home. Solid 5 stars.

This hotel is definitely as good as it gets when it comes to hospitality and comfort. The service, the staff, the amenities, the decor, the location - all impeccable. Not only are the common areas beautiful, but so are the rooms. Rooms are spacious and beds are very comfortable. The staff is helpful and friendly. I also loved the kitchenettes on each floor stocked with bottled water, fruit, Nespresso coffee, and baked cookies each night. And I have to mention the complimentary washer and dryer on each floor as well. A very nice touch that will keep me coming back whenever I'm in Bar Harbor.

This hotel is a great choice. Excellent location with amazing Bar Harbor views and right in the village, so you can walk to everything. We got a Premium Ocean Front view room (ask for room 333) and were not dissatisfied. The online images are accurate. Our views from our private balcony were awesome. The staff is fantastic, I like that you can text them anytime. Each floor has a little station with coffee, tea, bottled water, apples etc. The bed was very comfortable, quality bedding, with lots of pillows, nice modern shower. AND they have their own parking lot which is very important in Bar Harbor. Views from our balcony attached.

(The 4th one was from Cadillac Summit.) Our room was spacious with one of the most comfortable comforters I've felt. We had a keurig machine, microwave, and mini fridge in our room. Appreciated the heater in the bathroom. Loved being greeted by the geese family on property in the morning and afternoon just outside our balcony. Our balcony had a couple of chairs with a table. We noticed the room beside us had a couch and bar stools in their balcony. While our balcony had cobwebs in every ceiling corner (lots of spiders on the railing), we were still able to enjoy the majestic sunrise views. They serve a continental breakfast every morning at 0700. Mid-day they serve charcuterie, cookies, fruits with refreshing infused water, tea&coffee. By far this was the most serene accommodation we've had. Calm and peaceful. They provide Adirondack chairs overlooking the bay. Friendly staff~ Brad at the front desk was kind in printing our Cadillac Sunrise pass for us & greeted us every time we passed the front desk. The hotel is less than 8 minutes from the Waterfront and about 10 min to Acadia National park depending on which entrance you use. All in all would return and recommend.

The breakfast was very good with many options to have before heading out for the day. All of the egg dishes were outstanding. They also have a shuttle service that you can take if you want to go out for dinner in town. This was our first time to Bar Harbor and Bayview but it won't be our last.

It was not like any other Hampton Inn that I've ever been in. It felt like a two star hotel. They don't even have a microwaves in the rooms. The breakfast was adequate. They had lots of options, but when paying over $500 for a room, I kind of expected a little more when it came to the quality. Here's what was not good: 1) The walls were so thin I could easily hear conversations in the next room and in the hallway. Not to mention the barking dog and slamming of doors that could not be closed gently. 2) They should not have charged a $35 resort fee when there were no real amenities offered. For example, the 2 weight rooms in the hotel and at the spa club house had basic equipment but the weights were insufficient for my husband. The only other amenities offered without an additional fee were tennis and the swimming pools but they were still closed because we were there in April, still the off-season. 3) The La Bella Vita restaurant food was mediocre and definitely not worth the inflated prices charged. Not to mention, our waiter didn't even know what a Chianti red wine was even though he was working at an Italian restaurant. 4) The outdated wall room heater and air conditioner was way too loud and we couldn't hear the TV without turning it up (I'm sure our neighbors could hear). But at least it helped drown out the neighbors and the barking dog. And can't imagine what they charge for rooms during peak tourist season but I definitely won't be back to find out.
