This is such a hidden gem in the Winter Park area! Located right next to Soseki, this sushi and sake bar is a bit hidden. The inside is intimate and vibey, and the service was incredible. Our server was attentive and so funny, and the bartender was extremely knowledgeable about different sakes, even brining over a few of her select choices. We started with oysters, and I don't even like oysters that much, but these were delicious. We also got the patatas bravas and the squash salad, both amazing. I ended my meal with the garlic shrimp noodles, that were seasoned perfectly and a great serving size. I will definitely be back!

Pros: Ambiance is great. It's a single room bar that has various seating styles, including the cool bar we got sat at. Service was very nice. Our server I think was the main bartender, so she knew a lot about where the sakes came from from my flight. Food was awesome. Pretty much Soseki quality, but in dishes that were more casual, for a very fun evening. Cons: No cons. A very fun and delicious evening. Tips: Get the caviar donut, get the chili garlic noodles, get any wings they may have, get the mochi cake. It's all good. But at the same time, skip any sushi rolls. They're good, but they're just so small for so much money. Your dollars are better spent elsewhere.

As a sibling spot to Soseki, Bar Kada, now on the Michelin guide, it's a welcome addition and an absolute must for sake lovers. You'll find a rotating selection of small plates and premium picks from overseas, all elevated by their house ponzu sauce. The space is small and intimate and the service is outstanding. Every employee was genuinely kind, attentive, and truly made the experience feel personal from start to finish. As we weren't very hungry on the occasion, we ended up ordering the 5-pieced dry-aged sashimi sampler and their Asian version of "patatas bravas" only, both delicious. The sashimi, which one would probably also find at Soseki, was phenomenal. Their sake selection is impressive, and one of the staff members personally came to our table to serve and share the history behind it. It felt like a mini TED Talk and I loved it! Bar Kada is the full package -- sake, ambiance, food, and service all on point.

We came tonight for the first time for magical dining. The entrance is in the back and easy to miss as it has a small interior. The staff was friendly and made great recommendations. The saki cocktails were tasty and had a beautiful presentation. Unfortunately, they were out of one of the appetizers, one of the entrees, and two of th desserts for magical dining but they would not provide substitutes. Fortunately, all the food we could get was amazing.amf came out very quickly. The portions are small but everything had great flavor and was a great deal at $40. We will definitely be back.

    Oysters - west coast

I visited Bar Kada on a Wednesday night around 6:30. We had a reservation, and we were seated immediately, but we were waiting on one more so we enjoyed some of their puffed chickpea snacks. Unfortunately, they were already out of their buck a shuck oysters, but we did order a dozen of their regular oysters. I ordered the patatas bravas, pork skewers, and a bluefin toro set. The patatas bravas were really interesting, and I really liked them. The pork skewers were amazing, I could absolutely live on them. The bluefin set was . . . Fine. The fish was good quality, but none of the components had different seasoning so it was extremely one note. I'm used to seito's sets where each type of sushi has a different seasoning or sauce or component on it, so I was a little disappointed. I also got a sake flight which was awesome. Our bartender selected the sakes based on what food I was getting throughout the meal which was amazing. The last thing to come out was the oysters. They were great, but west coast oysters are delicate in flavor and the ponzu was just a little much for me. I would've loved some fresh wasabi or something else with it. For dessert I got the popcorn ice cream. I'm allergic to blueberries, so they served it with a peach consume which was really nice of them to prepare for me! The portion was depressingly small though. The ice cream was amazing, but it was half melted by the time I started eating it'd and there was too much pound cake for it. I wish I'd had a lot more ice cream to be honest. I liked Bar Kada enough, but I was unimpressed overall. It felt overpriced, and I don't think that the servings are big enough. The service was also a bit of a let down. Our server put in 2 of the potatoes and forgot the oysters, so we didn't get them until the end and you really want those before anything else. It was weird to follow all that warm food with something cold and refreshing and briny right before dessert. She also seemed overwhelmed in general, which I totally understand. The bartender was awesome though. I'd be more likely to come here just for sake than for food, and I definitely wouldn't expect a full meal here again.

Such a great experience and I can't wait to come back to try more. I had wanted to come in on a Wednesday because I saw from their website that they have dollar oysters on Wed. until they run out. I called for clarification and the gentleman on the phone was very helpful and knowledgeable and also told me they do the same deal on Sundays. Me and a group of friends (5 of us) came in on Sunday to enjoy their special. From looking at their menu I noticed that they also do happy hour from 5-6. The only food item on the happy hour menu is the oysters. On any other day during happy hour the oysters are $2 though, not $1. Our waiter Eric was very knowledgeable and helpful in deciding what to order. We tasted a lot of menu items and the cavier donuts were a table fav! I do think that the Bluefin torro set was way over priced for what you got. It was $52 for 8 pieces, when the smaller sets of tuna maki come with 4 pieces and are only $15. There was a little mixup with our receipts at checkout, but Renae sorted it for us so that was much appreciated. As a whole the staff, great food, and awesome specials on food/drink will keep us coming back. Can't wait to also try the sister restaurant soseiki!

The best sake, yummy bites, and amazing people. I think one of the main reasons I keep coming back is because of the wonderful vibe and service. Emika will remember what you like and make great recommendations. She is very knowledgeable. She also has a way of making people feel special. For the best experience I recommend sitting at the bar as opposed to a table. I am still reminiscing about the amazing food they served for New Year's Eve! It was a special prix fixe menu. Make sure to take advantage of those special events at Bar Kada. Their weekly oyster specials are really good and such a steal. Their ponzu sauce with the oysters hits the spot!

Had the 5 course meal with drink package (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) The non-alcoholic package was actually so worth it and the presentation for the drinks was very well thought out. Food was amazing, pacing was great, server helped add to the experience with lots of mini history details. Overall ambiance is nice, quaint.

I took my partner here for his birthday and it was nothing short of amazing. The space is intimate, dimly lit and minimally decorated. The customer service was personable and the food was immaculate. My favorites were the caviar donuts and the wagyu, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. It was a little costly but it's worth it because the experience is truly top tier. One of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. 10/10!

We had the 5-course prix fixe menu last night and LOVED the experience. The setting is really laid back and intimate. Their dishes are creatively executed from artistry to flavor profiles. My husband loved the sake and wine selection, a friend at the table tried the sparkling green tea and I loved the hot hibiscus rose tea. We would definitely go back..

Came excited to check out Bar Kada, which is a 30-seat sake lounge with food from the team behind Soseki! I ordered the Tamago Sarada, Sashimi, Wagyu Tartare, Tuna Au Poivre, Dumpling, A5 Wagyu Spinelis, and Vietnamese Wings! The good: The ambiance, service, and food were amazing, and definitely lived up to the reputation stemmed from Soseki. My favorite dishes of the evening were the Tamago Sarada, Dumpling, and A5 Wagyu Spinelis. But honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the selections since all of the dishes were tasteful and beautifully presented. The Tamago Sarada was absolutely delicious, with the cold tamago flavor mixed with a potato-like texture. The Sashimi tasted absolutely fresh, and the sauce tasted absolutely amazing. The Wagyu Tartare has a strong sesame flavor to it, but goes really well with the sourdough bread. The Tuna Au Poivre is extremely tender, and it has bold flavors. The Dumpling was definitely one of the top favorites, where it was creamy and soft, and delicious. The A5 Wagyu Spinelis is not listed on the menu, but the server brought it up as tonight's special. It requires a 3-ounce minimum order, which costs $80. This literally melts in your mouth as soon as you try to take a bite! Last, but not least, the Vietnamese Wings were fried to perfection with a delicious crispy crunch in each bite, and the fish sauce and garlic is very potent in this flavor! The bad: Nothing at all in regards to the food! I did order the Bla and Lyserod Sparkling Teas, but personally, I just was not a fan of either of the Sparkling Tea flavors.

    Appetizer

Every bit of food was full of flavor.. Every sauce was a new flavor with a perfect blend of taste but not overpowering. We ordered six dishes total and each had a delicious and unique flavor Vanessa was our server and was one of the best servers I have ever had. I grew up in the food industry and would say in all my years, she gave the best experience. The ambiance is small and interment. Not overcrowded. Good house music but a quiet ambiance. I would highly recommend this place! Must try

WOW. First things first, Daniel at the bar made our dinner so want to give him a shoutout. His knowledge and passion for the art of cocktails and drinks was incredible! It was so fun to listen to the history of some of the sakes while we ordered. We tried I'd say half the menu and there was not one thing I didn't like but the standouts are pictured below. The dumplings were so unique and I haven't tried corn dumplings like this before! They were excellent. As soon as we finished the wagyu tartar we almost ordered a second it was that good. I would come back just to eat this and talk to Daniel. The space is intimate but big enough and is a nice option to have next to soseki. I think what chef has done is great and we will definitely be back!

The bar specializes in cocktails, and their Halloween cocktail menu was long and creative. That said, since I wasn't really in the mood for a cocktail, I ordered a glass of white wine instead. The appetizers, however, aren't as inventive. We ordered curly fries, Brussels sprouts, and the smash burger. The latter was a bit of a disappointment: the patties were thin, overcooked, and almost tasted like a frozen burger. The other two were good, with the sprouts being my favorite. I plan to go back for one of their cocktails with those long descriptions; maybe I'll just pick the one with the longest description and see how it goes.

We waited about 15-20 minutes before being let in. Once inside, it's very close quarters. We managed to grab a two-top and ordered cocktails from the bartender. The drinks were pretty good. If you're unsure what to get or want something experimental, the bartender will ask plenty of questions to tailor a drink to your taste. If that's not your thing, there's a standard menu to choose from. Or, when in Rome -- let them surprise you with something unique. The drink prices definitely reflect the atmosphere. It evokes another era, the 1930s and 1940s, a hidden place where people escaped reality for a few hours and where every whispered conversation felt a little more dangerous than it should. There is something about saying the name out loud that feels almost mischievous. Even before stepping inside, it conjures images of old Hollywood glamour, forbidden romance, and the kind of longing that filled classic films. The sort of place where people met not because they had to, but because they couldn't stay away. The space itself more than lives up to the promise of its name. Death in the Afternoon is one of the most visually interesting places Orlando has to offer. It feels intimate, mysterious, and wonderfully removed from the ordinary. I couldn't help but think of The Great Gatsby, not because of excess or extravagance, but because of that same sense of romance, possibility, and yearning for something just out of reach. In fact, I visited twice in the same afternoon. My first stop was simply to satisfy my curiosity and see if the reality matched the image I had built up in my head. It did. So after completing the rest of my three-hour Mills 50 walk, I found myself drawn back for a meal and a chance to enjoy the atmosphere a little longer. The menu is limited, so choose wisely.
