Came on a Sunday craving sushi for my adventurous, foodie nephew's birthday not knowing it was their brunch hours, hence, a different menu. Fortunately, they still have their dinner menu you can order from. The hot items were not available though. Our server was prompt and friendly. The rolls were all delicious with the "kissed by fire" roll being our favorite and "Top Up" coming in second. Although they don't have your typical maki rolls on the menu, they are able to accomodate and make them as well. We ordered the classic salmon avocado roll because you can't go wrong with simple, good sushi. The quality of their sushi is superb. This is a great sushi spot with the decor being fun and modern

It has been a long time since I found a very good sushi restaurant and my search is now over! I would highly recommend sushi pop. From the outside, it's a very unassuming building and then you walk into a stunning ambience of tastefully, decorated booths, overhead lamps, and just the right amount of relaxation. The food was just phenomenal. Every bit of it the highlight of our meal was the Nigiri flight where the fish was beyond my expectations. The edamame was so good that I know that I will be thinking about it when I can get back there to get it and how soon. If you were looking for a quality sushi restaurant with an amazing ambience, you should visit sushi pop.

    Amazing sushi roll construction!

Undeniable... one of the best brunch spots we have had the pleasure to experience! Sushi Pop is known for their elevated style and flavors - but this shines in their brunch menu. The wait was zero, we were sat super quick, served right away and treated so good by the staff! This is the kind of place that I want to take every one of my friends too ... just to show off what we've got on this side of town! Sushi Pop has always put Oviedo on the map for elevated dining and the brunch is, well, better than your typical egg and biscuit joint for sure.

Super cute little sushi restaurant. Open, table and tall boy table seating. Mix of Asian and a little nuevo going on with decor...luv it. Our waitress was phenomenal. Took great care of us all evening. We started with edamame with everything and the KFC (Korean fried chicken wings). Wonderful flavors, fresh and delicious! Everything looked and smelled so good....I forgot to take a picture of our sushi rolls ‍ We indulged the Ceviche, Black Dragon and Hemachi Hero. So very fresh and flavorful...thoroughly enjoyed the evening!

Oviedo-Mother's Day was a success! We were pleasantly impressed to find Sushi Pop was open on this special day. It is absolutely beautiful inside this restaurant. A VERY COOL VIBE. Lucas was our very knowledgeable and kind waiter. Giving us all kinds of good info about the menu. Their menu was full of really interesting combinations and lots of different flavors melded together. That's a HUGE plus, because so many sushi restaurants here in Orlando offer the same boring rolls with spicy everything. It was nice to actually have choices!!! Our old fashioned cocktail was really well crafted. The beer selections were awesome! Sea salt edamame started us off! Good but not great. Just edamame actually! We tried the table side wasabi root and the regular wasabi, just to compare. Both were good! The White Cloud roll was EPIC! So much flavor and a great combination of interesting ingredients! Definitely would suggest ordering this roll. We also tried the Ceviche roll. I'm not a "spicy" lover, but it was pretty good. The Japanese Yellowtail Belly sashimi ROCKED!! Loved it! We also had the Sushi Pop Poke Bowl with tuna. Unfortunately that dish fell very short of expectations. Super tiny portion for the price. Thankfully there were other items to share with the guy who ordered that tiny entree. We even brought the hubby some Korean Fried Chicken wings! He loved them! Very meaty. Overall, a delicious meal and a decision to absolutely return! I'm super excited to try more of the interesting combinations that they have to offer.

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in East Orlando. You truly can't beat their happy hour deals and it includes my favorite roll - the Ceviche roll! Everything is always super fresh and each flavor component complements the next perfectly. The service is always friendly and I love the bar seating for great conversation, delectably crafted cocktails, and a casual ambiance.

Went here to celebrate my friends birthday and we decided to go for happy hour. It is only for an hour so we arrived right at 5pm. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful but I do think the service/food lacked. In my reservation I had put "corner spot if possible for privacy, it is my friend's birthday"... and when we got seated the server put us smack dab in the middle table against the wall in between two tables on either side. If you've been you'll understand- it's basically a long booth so people can literally be sitting right next to you essentially sharing the seat. Anyways- we got over it but it was a bit disappointing since I could clearly see empty and more private seating available. Next, we ordered the volcano roll, coco roll, ceviche roll and everything bagel roll. The fish didn't taste like it was imported from Japan unfortunately (as stated on website) it was very lackluster and the rolls themselves weren't wrapped very well. You can see in the picture the presentation of each roll. They were coming undone, different sizes, different amounts per roll. The best roll was the ceviche roll and our least favorite was the volcano roll. I didn't like the smoked salmon in the everything bagel roll either. The coco roll just tasted like straight coconut and nothing else. The drinks were okay. A lot of ice and a bit flavorless. As you can see in the pics, the drinks had a beautiful presentation but were lacking again. My advice would be to put as much effort into the food and service as you have into the interior. I also think happy hour could definitely be longer than an hour. Prices were good. I probably wouldn't return but it is a nice option for a happy hour if you aren't super picky with your sushi/drinks.

Love the vibes, they are always playing the best anime when we go. Food is great and the servers are always really nice! We got the same rolls as last time we went but something tasted off this time. Still good though, would come back!

Absolutely fabulous restaurant inside! Located in a strip mall, with black tinted windows from the outside, you would think it was nothing special! However, all the yelpers know to check Yelp out when in doubt! Food was delicious, great for a local spot. We arrived on New Year's Day for a nice dinner, and Eva was able to fit us in between her reservations. She was absolutely wonderful. Our server, Lucas, he was phenomenal with the kids and gave great recommendations! The facility was very nice and clean and I loved the decor inside. We will definitely be back again soon! I took one star off because I thought that the price point was decent but the rolls were fairly small. Also, the bread pudding was so tiny, it would even be too small for my child! I was shocked at how small the dessert was, you should probably order one each if you are going to share. It was so yummy! I will try the peanut butter one next time! That rock shrimp is to absolutely die for! Shout out to Joe for the recommendation and yes, that blue cheese swipe!!!!! The edamame was so good but I wish it wasn't steamed so much because you pull the bones of the edamame when you get the flavor off. I may request that next time. Must try though and ample parking too! The drinks were yumm too! I got a guava tequila situation and it was all clear! Very cool presentation!

This was my third time at Sushi Pop Oviedo, and I'd honestly rate it a 6/5 if I could. Every visit has been outstanding, but this one really showed how consistently excellent this place is. We started with the Edamame with sea salt (simple but fresh) and the Pork Gyoza, which were crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The Hamachi Zuke was flavorful and perfectly balanced. For sashimi, we had the Bluefin Otoro (incredibly buttery, melts in your mouth) and the Chef's Choice Premium Sashimi platter, which was stunning both in presentation and taste. We also tried the Curry No Hurry roll, which had a fun kick of spice, and the Volcano Roll, which was rich and satisfying. Honestly, everything we ordered came out beautifully plated and spot-on with flavor. Desserts were no afterthought here -- the P.M.S. (chocolate + peanut butter heaven) and the Carrot Cake Bread Pudding were both fantastic and the perfect finish to the meal. Service has been excellent every time I've visited -- friendly, attentive, and well-paced. The vibe is modern and lively without being overwhelming. Prices are fair for the quality and artistry you're getting. Final take: Sushi Pop Oviedo is easily one of the best sushi spots in Central Florida. Third visit, and they haven't missed once. I'll keep coming back again and again.

Really enjoyed our dinner here! We got the fried chicken, bang shrimp, tempura Rangoon, and the fireball roll. Everything was so delicious and the service was great. The ambiance was so aesthetic and def seems like a vibe for a happy hour (which they do have) can't wait to be back and try out their cocktails during happy hour.

This may be the most amazing sushi I've ever had...and definitely the top three in Florida (I'm from Charleston SC). Our waitress Alessa was amazing and so helpful. Ambiance was fun and trendy while still being relaxed and comfy. This was my first visit there. I was visiting my friend in Orlando and her husband suggested we try it. This was also my first experience with blow-torched scallop. See pics for rolls. (They kindly subbed tempura avocado for asparagus for me.) Sushi was delicious and fresh.

Always 5-star! Great service! I Love Lucy (no relationship to the show)....and the rest of the staff. This time my hubby and I went for Brunch!! OMG! We were well taken care of by cutie patutie, Sara. AMAZING FOOD! Ambiance was perfect. Go the next chance you get! I want more of that French Toast!

I had the teriyaki tofu which was perfectly coated in a light crispy shell, and the tofu was silky and melted in your mouth. The plate came out bubbling in a skillet. The ramen comes out in a massive cauldron! Also hot and ready. They have sriracha available if needed. The sushi was so fresh and flavorful. It was made by the sushi chef in house and visible to watch him make it. It was wrapped perfectly and everything came out fast. The portions were generous. The price is perfect for the proportion size and also the fact that everything tasted so good. Some dishes come with a side salad and miso as well. The waiter we had was apart of the family that owns the restaurant. I'm surprised it's a mom and pop place because it felt so rich and nice. This is my new go-to spot. Everyone you have to try it!

Only like 3 diners were there when we arrived (it was mid afternoon), so lots of open seating. We were able to sit at the bar. Greeted right way. Will say they have a very extensive menu. Decent selection of sushi & other types of dishes. Our server was pleasant. We started with their daily deal which was Crispy Tuna and edamame as well. Came out pretty quickly after we ordered. The Crispy Tuna was served not as we expected. It was more rice cakes (pancake style shape if you will) not what we are accustomed to which generally is a Square Musubi Press. They were good, but would have preferred them the way we generally order it. Edamame was tasty, but hard to mess that up. Rolls: they are pretty small to be honest and squeezed so tightly (with not enough of outer rice) they sat up high and didn't take on the plump desirable shape. When a sushi roll (maki) is rolled and pressed incorrectly with a bamboo mat, the cylindrical shape gets squished and inevitably turns into a aesthetic effect that looks off, which in my opinion shows here. Plus, very thinly sliced rolls. 4 rolls we ordered: Naruto Roll, it was refreshing & liked the cucumber in place of the seaweed wrap. Beauty & Beast Roll, came together well with the black tobiko & masago. Waterfall Roll was good, but would have liked some more heat (heaver on the jalapeños) and finally the Black Pearl Roll which was decent with the black tobiko on top! Throughout of dining experience the sushi chefs were preparing other dishes on the menu to fill orders, but also pleasant & engaging as we watched them make our orders and those others too. Leo and Micah were friendly, not so much the only female employee. She gave off some negative vibes. Never said a word to us & acted like we were not even there! Believe her role may have been in the kitchen, but she was out on the floor (for most of our time there) talking to Leo primarily. Kitchen cleanliness is key and by looking thru the open space (to the backs of sushi chefs) she really needed to focus more of her attention there instead of projecting conversations out front to the busy staff. Meaning that sanitation and environmental hygiene is a mandatory practice that needs constant attention & customers may observe or question those things when not tending to the task. I'm addressing this in the most important and nicest way possible! Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Not the best sushi restaurant we've been to, but definitely sufficed for our craving. Ended our meal with their fried ice cream which was delicious. Note- Do not believe they have any happy hour specials. No Kizami Wasabi available here. They feature a few lower costs options for lunch. Additionally, they have hibachi, teriyaki and ramen also!

There are a lot of good menus out there this year, but Kabooki just stood out. A good variety, great sounding flavors, customizable sushi entree. It was a clear good choice to make. Ambiance is always great at Kabooki. Dimly lit, a sleek, energetic bar right up front, an omakase bar over in the corner with a great view of the chef's working, and a playlist that just won't quit. It's all very swanky and full of hexagons. Service was great, too. We had a very nice, attentive server. And even though the pace was certainly not lackadaisical, we did not feel rushed at all, which is unusual for a Magical Dining reservation. Usually the restaurants can't wait to get us out the door, but here, we felt very welcome. It was nice. As for the food, for a $60 menu, they had their work cut out for them. would coming here be worth paying $40 total for both our meals? Long story short, yes, absolutely it was. Apps Maguro Truffle (tuna, bubu arare, shiitake crèma, balsamic truffle soy, serrano peppers). This was banging. Huge slabs of fresh tuna, covered in crispy crunchy little circles, and that shiitake crema, very umami, I licked the plate. I wasn't about to let any of that go to waste. Hamachi Carpaccio (Japanese yellowtail, yuzu tobiko, ponzu, kaffir lime oil, yuzu kosho, serrano peppers). This was not carpaccio. It was a menu play with the wagyu carpaccio right above it. But it was five excellent slices of fresh hamachi with a very bright sauce that it was laying in. Generous slices, too. Great apps. Mains Berkwood St. Louis Sticky Ribs (braised, then crispy tempura, tossed in smoked chili, hoisin sauce). I'll say it, these were the best Asian ribs I've ever had in Orlando. Tempura crispy exterior, melt in your mouth interior, and whatever they tossed it in, including sesame seeds, formed a beautiful little crust on the outside. Best bite of the night. Hands down. Two Makimono (pick 2: tom yum roll, hawaiian x.o roll, booki booki roll, spicy tuna roll). Tom Yum (panko shrimp, avocado, topped with torched salmon, tom yum aioli, thai chili flakes, micro cilantro, lemon wedge). Hawaii XO (yellowtail, avocado, tobanjan aioli, crispy shallots, topped with white fish, lemon confit, kaiware, pink salt). Both were very good rolls. The Tom Yum aioli was a very unique touch, which is what I was looking for. I'm so jaded with rolls nowadays, I really need to be impressed. The Hawaii roll was nice, too. Looking back, I don't recall or see any crispy shallots. Make sure to compare your rolls to the menu when you come here. Desserts C4 (chocolate lava cake with dulce de leche, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate ganache sauce). This was good. Textbook lava cake with all the decadent flavors you except, and a nice, cold ice cream to pair perfectly with it. Ube Cheesecake +$8 (graham cracker crust, topped with torched meringue, toasted coconut). Only two dollars more on the regular menu, but eight dollars more here. I still wanted it so badly, but I recommend you pass on this upgrade. It was a very good ube cheesecake, but it was not add-eight-dollars better than the creme brulee would have been. Overall, Kabooki is a very good little spot. With everyone and their mother offering fresh fish and sushi rolls nowadays, Kabooki stands above a lot of them in terms of quality and quantity of their offerings. No wonder it comes Michelin recommended. I'll definitely be back one day.
