This is such a fun place. Definitely a diverse crowd, which is always fun. The drinks were great, and the food was pretty good. The flatbread had great taste, but the flatbread came with garlic cloves on top instead of the garlic, being chopped or minced in some way. Biting into a huge piece of garlic was definitely not the highlight of my night. Other than that really great place and amazing staff!

I've been to this location multiple times and I'm usually very happy with the service, food and drinks! Stopped in for lunch today and it was pretty quiet which was perfect for us! Had the bbq chicken salad for the first time and it was perfect - love their loaded tots as well!

Grabbed lunch with our dogs. We love that the patio is dog friendly. Great shaded spot if you need to escape from the summer heat. We each enjoyed a martini with our food. I ordered the calamari as my meal (girl lunch) and it was fantastic. It had an Asian kick to it with the sweet chili sauce for dipping.

They have a $9 burger special on Tuesdays, and you can even order it to go which was surprising to hear. We were also shocked to find out that they are open until 1am during the week! I will say, it was a nice late night spot to grab a quick drink and apps. Sit with Jess at the bar! + spinach dip (3/5) + chicken tenders (5/5) + truffle fries (4/5) + spicy marg (5/5) + smoked old fashioned (4/5)

Chicken Nachos. Very filling. I get every time and split with 3 people. Plenty to share or makes a great dinner if you're hungry.

Bar Louie is always a favorite place of mine. I typically stick to the same meal which used to be the voodoo pasta. Unfortunately they got rid of that two or so years ago. I hope they bring it back someday! Since then, Ive had no problem trying something new every time and it's always a success! The flatbread (a little salty) and chicken sandwich (thick) are not items I'd get again but good to try. Everything else has been excellent. Nachos are always loaded. Tots are great. I tried fried pickles for the first time and they didn't let me down. Service is always great. Servers are honest if you ask for opinion on food/drinks. Their checks ins are on point too. Not too frequent, but just enough. Bar service is also top notch and make a strong drink if you want. It's almost always busy but never impacts the wait time or service you receive. Prices are good and reasonable. Prices have risen everywhere, but bar Louie remains consistent with portion sizes and hasn't gotten "conservative" with serving sizes/toppings. Including pictures over the last couple years along with last night (dec. '25) to show consistency. Must try if you're in the Carmel area. You won't regret it!

Bar Louie in Carmel is a solid, easy place to go when you want a good atmosphere, plenty of space, and friendly service. It is a large spot that feels comfortable for groups or just a casual night out, and the staff have been welcoming when I have gone. The burgers are good, not amazing, but the Tuesday night $9 burger deal makes them absolutely worth it and gives the place even more appeal as a relaxed local option. Oh and the outside seating is

Food & service were great. We were helped by the whole staff. Sat at the bar & the chairs were super squeaky but that was the only downside.

I ordered blue cheese TWO times through doordash. The first time I just thought maybe someone read the ticket wrong so i placed a second order just for blue cheese sauce & again they sent me buffalo sauce. I tried calling multiple times and there was no answer.

Bar Louie's-Carmel offers great vibes on a Friday or Saturday night! We went in and sat at the bar. There's TVs available to watch sports and the DJ starts at 10 pm. There's a small dance floor area in front of the DJ area. There was no cover change. After a certain time, they do card to get in. I didn't grab any food this time, but I did grab a wildberry margarita. It was a little too sweet for my liking, but still a tasty drink. I'll definitely be back.

Even the presentation itself made you want to stop and admire each dish before taking the first bite! The burrata, beautifully plated entrées and vegetable dishes were all impressive, and I loved the attention to detail throughout the meal. The cocktails were just as creative as the food--beautifully presented and almost too pretty to drink. And t The service made the evening even better. A while back, I learned that Tom Main, the owner of Freeland's, was nominated for a James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurateur. Well! That's all I needed to read, and I put Freeland's on my list of must-visit restaurants. Freeland's isn't a fancy joint, but it's also not not-fancy. Vibes were telling me that it felt like the kind of place where you want to put on a clean shirt, and so I got it into my head that Freeland's should be saved for a day when I felt like changing out of my yoga pants. So I visited on an anniversary. Pro tip: When you make a reservation online (and you should definitely make a reservation), tell them whether you're visiting for a birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc. They will make your dining experience incredibly special. We were greeted at our table with a celebratory sparkling wine toast (in shot glasses), and a complimentary scoop of fruit sorbet to end our meal. This was totally unexpected and was a nice touch, and spoke volumes about the service at Freeland's. Honestly, I don't know what to rave about first: the service or the food. But since I mentioned the service, I'll go ahead and just say that Freeland's has some of the best service I've experienced in Indiana. I felt like I was in the middle of a carefully orchestrated play, with people coming in and out to give me new silverware, refresh my water glass before I knew I needed more water, and whisk my empty plates away as soon as I was done with them. At one point, I was transfixed by watching the staff maneuver and dance around each other in the dining room with purpose and grace. It was a sight to behold. I love efficiency! I love moving with purpose! They do that here, all for you. One hundred percent, you should order the carrot appetizer. It's just called "Carrots" on the menu, which is an understatement. These are perfectly cooked warm carrots glazed in a Szechuan sauce, sitting on top of a creamy edamame hummus, drizzled with oil and sprinkled with everything-bagel spice. One order is plenty for two or three people to share, but I could see myself coming back and just hoarding an entire carrots plate all to myself, with a glass of wine, at the bar. For the main dishes, the Sakura Farm Pork Belly was ordered (kimchi, black forbidden rice, duck egg), which was so juicy and tender. I got the Loch D' Art Salmon, which is cooked medium, unless you tell them otherwise (but medium is perfect, so don't tell them otherwise), and comes with Carolina gold grits, broccolini, tomatoes, romesco sauce and harissa. Holy mackerel (I mean, salmon)! This was a perfect fish dish, and melted in my mouth. Every bite was amazing. It was just the right amount on the plate, too -- not too much, but also completely satisfying. They have some creative desserts on the menu. I didn't really want dessert, but we were given a dessert on the house, so how could I say no? The cherry sorbet was pure, icy cherries in a glass. So refreshing, and the perfect way to end the exquisite meal. Freeland's dining room is small, and when we visited, every table was full. Like I said, definitely make a reservation. But despite all of the people, and all of the people talking, it was never too loud. They have sound-diffusing panels in the ceiling to offset some of the noise, so I never felt like I had to shout across the table. They think about every detail here! This is one example of the care Freeland's puts into their dining experience, and it's not the only one. You are well-taken-care-of here.

We sat at a high top table in the bar. Our server, Bailey (the bartender), was friendly and super attentive. She made recommendations and kept glasses filled. The craft beer selection is excellent with about 16 local options on tap. My husband had a Fall City "Hipster Repellent". The name alone is interesting, but he loved his beer. I had the Espresso Martini which came with roasted coffee beans floating on top. My cocktail went down easy. I also had a glass of the Berringer Chardonnay. The pour is generous. We shared a plate of Loaded Tots, which was wonderful. The tots are made from scratch in-house and covered with roasted bits of pork belly, cheese, a sauce and green onions. We LOVED the tots, which came out super hot. We also shared a plate of the Loaded Hummus. The plate is beautiful and colorful. The hummus is fresh made and loaded with bits of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and is delicious on a balsamic reduction. The hummus is served with a generous portion of fresh in-house made focaccia bread which tasted amazing. The Loaded Hummus is a winner in my book. Bailey our server was fabulous. She worked the entire bar and was an ambassador of the chef and menu. I wish we had time to stay for dinner because the food is outstanding.
