We arrived on a lazy Tuesday afternoon, a relatively low crowd. They offer a diverse selection of draft beers, allowing you to sample each flavor, as you wish, by purchasing a flight. The pricing is by the ounce, simply insert your card. This system also enables you to keep track of your drink& food bill conveniently. Love their burgers, elote, shrimp dips (forgot what it's called, not on the menu) We enjoyed the friendly & welcoming staff at this resto!

Checked out this restaurant during lunchtime on a Sunday. They weren't busy so we got a table right away. Great ambiance, customer service, and food. Order: Cheese curds - MUST HAVE!!! You will not be disappointed! Tapeville Burger w/ Elote Corn - Recommend! The elote is smoked really well. Fried Chicken Sandwich w/ Fries - I got the sweet BBQ on the side but you can select a sauce to have inside the burger. The chicken was a bit dry, but still a decent sandwich. We would definitely go back again!

Cheese curds were fresh and delicious. Just wish I had more! The pasta was a great portion and very tasty (creamy and spicy). Love the concept for the pour your own beer - got to try a variety of great beer. Great wine selection too. Service was great and answered all our questions!

It's a neat idea, but didn't wow us. The employees were nice and the atmosphere was average. The self serve beer is a cool idea but it adds up QUICK so be aware when you are pouring. The food was just okay, but they do have a lemonade that my sister enjoyed and came with free refills.

I enjoy myself here! I came with a group of ladies for brunch . Everyone enjoyed their food I had chicken and waffles, awesome choice ! We had the whole area to ourselves and it was great ! The coffee flight looked delicious!

$18 Fish and Chips meh. The Guinness batter was overly salty and the tartar sauce was flat (no dill & possibly no mustard). Shot of coleslaw was good. Overall unimpressed with the dish for the price. Service was friendly but slow. Our prior experience was better. My companion agreed that if this had been his 1st time he would not return since the food was disappointing. Have to say the flights look like fun but I was DD so I had to pass. Also their brunch menu looks enticing so I may return to put a fork in it.

I think the concept itself of this place is what everyone should try if they're interested. You put a form of payment down, and they give you a card. With this card, you can access all types of alcohol (wine, drafts, etc) from a tap. All you have to do is insert your card and dispense the amount of alcohol desired into your glass, based on the amount you self pour is what you pay at the end (it lets you know how much) very cool if you don't want to commit to one drink/ are wanting to taste and try other things that peak your interest. Staff was absolutely amazing. Very friendly. I had an issue where I inserted my card and without knowing the tap was down, it dispensed the wrong drink. They were able to clear that charge on my card with no problem. We came on Mother's Day weekend, Saturday around 7, what I can only assume is the busiest time for them. Only ordered an appetizer to share which was very good, although took a bit to arrive (I'm sure it's because the kicthen was busy, so no fault or issue) Can't speak on the food other than that but we came for the alcohol and was not disappointed! I'd definitely recommend to try out and will mostly likely come back

Went with my bff on a girls night out and we've been seeing ads for the marg flights for a while, so we were so excited to try this place! When you first go in, you put down a credit card and they give you this plastic card (credit card shape) with a QR code on the back that you use to order from (or u can order from ur server) and u use it to pour drinks from the taps. Really cool concept - I've never seen that anywhere else and I liked it more than I thought I would. We ordered the margarita flight and, overall, we liked trying the variety, but wouldn't do this next time. Classic - this was by far the best. Great balance of liquor. Strawberry Basil - Very good but a little strong Blueberry - The sugar on the rim was soo bad! The drink was okay after a few sips but I just couldn't drink anymore Passion Fruit - No my favorite and it was soo strong. Don't get me wrong I love a strong drink, but for a cocktail I would've liked more balance in some of the drinks. Also - I think these would've been better will salt on all the rims. For the tap, we tried the sangria and summerly raspberry wheat drinks and they were okay! I've had better sangrias tbh but the raspberry wheat was good. Now to the food... For apps we shared the fried cauliflower bites and they were delicious! They were coated in a batter and came with dips on the side (we asked for one of all flavors to try) 10/10! We both got the street tacos and they were delicious! But the tacos were tiny and only had one tortilla shell so it was hard not to break them when picking them up. Rice was not authentic Mexican style but still good. 6/10 We were still hungry so we got an order of steak nachos. Good but a little too spicy! The sauce is spicy, Guac was spicy and there were jalapeños so I would've preferred a better balance. Our service was great overall, but one thing I really disliked was the size of the water glass. You get a tiny water glass and it's kinda annoying to have to ask 10x for it to be refilled. It would've been nice to have a water pitcher of some sort at the table so we didn't have to ask again so many times. Also, I think it's a great place to try once or twice but it's a little pricy for the portion size you get. I'll include my receipt copy and photos so you can decide if you think it's "fair", but I was just expecting a little more - mainly for the tacos size for the tacos and rice for $17.

I've been to this place a few times in the past. I typically enjoy coming more for drinks than for food, but I have had the food twice. The first time, I had tacos and I felt that the portion was small, especially for the price. This time, I had the signature burger, and it was definitely enough food and it was tasty. As for drinks, I've had their variety of self pour drinks - some great, some ok, but what's nice is that they rotate so you can try different things! You can also see what your overall bill is as it pours. I have had the margarita flight, which was ok except for the lime, which was very salty, even in the actual drink. (I couldn't even finish it). This time, I had the spiked lemonade flight which was really good. It is a bit pricy with it being $19, but it's something different and fun to have. I've sat both inside and outside, and have enjoyed both. It just depends what you feel like doing. As for service, I've had some good and some not so great. This time, our server tried to be friendly, but service was slow and she was a bit awkward. Overall, I do like this place for a chill place to have some drinks and grab a bite to eat.

Fun place with innovative way of serving beverages, tracking and charging customers; still with a personal touch. Food was good. The ahi tuna bowl was a special and it was just the right amount. Drink service was very clever. Beer and wine on charged per ounce. From 5 oz flights to full pints; have fun.

The way you order your food and drinks here is different from other restaurants. First, you would go to the front counter and give them your ID and card. They will put your info on their Tapville Social card and you will use it to get your drinks from the dispensers that have different beer flavors. You can choose to do a flight or a glass. For ordering food, the waitress will come to your table and you will need to mention your name and the food you want. At the end, they will give your receipt which automatically charges to your credit card that you provided in the beginning and all you need to do is add tip! Cool concept overall but just make sure you don't lose your card or accidentally take someone else's. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and it was alright. The texture is fluffy and chewy which was perfect, but I expected more for the flavor. I thought there would be lemon in the pancake but it was more of lemon glaze that's poured over the pancakes. I was kind of disappointed about that. I think I had high expectations because I was thinking it would be like the lemon ricotta pancakes from The Beatrix.

Having been to a similar place in Lake Geneva that we absolutely loved, I was so excited to hear that this was much closer to home and offered the same experience. However, the check-in process was laborious, and lines got long. Once we got our table and began to roam the selections, we discovered that 80% of the beers we wanted to try were out. Yes, their primary product was NOT AVAILABLE. We told one of the managers immediately, and they said they would have it fixed quickly. But 45 minutes later..... they were still out. That got me wondering if they are covertly directing patrons to select beers that make them more money - this creeped me out. We ordered nachos, pickle chips, and a veggie burger. and they were all good. However, I'm never planning to step in this place again. Whether it's sheer management incompetence or something more sinister, I can take my money elsewhere.

Big fan of not committing to one drink/entree so I love the concept of the self serve taps! We got food and did a couple flights from the tap. I'm not a beer person so I stuck to the ciders and seltzers. They also have wine and sangria. The pink lemonade, peach county, and pineapple cider were all great! I'm not sure if I messed up a tap but I attempted to try the black cherry and cold brew came out instead which I didn't realize. My friend tried their pickle beer which was fascinating - literally like carbonated pickle juice and super savory! We split the fried avocado bites which were great - hot and melty and buttery. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich which was good - the portion was a good size and the crunchy veg toppings complemented the buffalo perfectly! The fries were really delicious too, crispy and salty. My friend tried the corn tacos which she liked but were a little small. Overall decent spot in Naperville, especially if you're into beers!

Ask the Community - Tapville Social - Naperville

Do you offer bottomless mimosas during brunch?

No, just a *small* flight of 4/5 (?) you can find bottomless at other venues for the same price (like pickwick)

If you come for brunch can you order off of the regular menu?

Yes, our regular menu is available during brunch.

Is this a good place to bring kids?

Tapville is family-friendly with a kids menu.

Are you open for patio dining this weekend? If yes, you take reservations? Thanks! SS?

We do! You can place all reservations through OpenTable, including patio seating. We will be open on Friday and Saturday this week!

Hi, are you open for patio dining during lunch on a weekday with Covid guidelines?

    Just lunch on Fridays

How loud is this restaurant on a typical Friday or Saturday night?

Thanks for your question. It does get loud in the front of our restaurant. However, we have seating in the back room - Independence Room, that has sound reduction panels. It's quieter in the back room for conversations.

They're…read moredog-friendly and welcomed us onto the patio with our little Shorkie puppy, making it a perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful weather, have a few margaritas, and relax. We started with the complimentary house-made salsa and warm tortilla chips. The salsa was robust and incredibly flavorful with just the right amount of kick. The chips were fresh and crisp, with the perfect thickness and satisfying salty crunch that made it way too easy to keep reaching for another one. We also ordered the queso fundido with chorizo, which came out piping hot and bubbling in a cast-iron skillet with roasted peppers and plenty of chorizo. Rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor, it was definitely worth ordering for the table, especially scooped up with the warm tortillas and chips! For our mains, we had the birria tacos and Tampiqueña. The birria tacos were excellent; tender, juicy, full of rich, savory flavor, and even better dipped in their consommé. The Tampiqueña was equally impressive, with a perfectly cooked and well-seasoned steak, cheese enchilada, Mexican rice, refried beans, a wedge of fried cheese, and a generous scoop of freshly made guacamole. It was a substantial plate, but nothing felt like an afterthought; everything worked together, and the steak was the standout. My only gripe would be the margaritas; they were... fine. They could've used a much heavier pour of tequila. But credit where credit's due, they were ice-cold, refreshing, and went down very easily alongside the meal. Our server, Chris, was excellent throughout our visit. He was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and personable. Despite taking care of us and four other tables on the patio, he checked in at all the right times and made sure we always had what we needed without hovering or making us feel rushed. All-in, our bill was about $124 for two, including tax and a 22% tip. Considering the amount of food, multiple margaritas, and the overall experience, we felt the value was pretty reasonable for the Downtown Naperville area. Between the excellent food, great service, and being able to bring our puppy along, we really enjoyed our first visit to Fat Rosie's. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, the portions were generous, and we left very happy with our choice. It was exactly the kind of laid-back patio dinner we were looking for, and we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The Water St area has a great variety of restaurants including Vasili's (modern Greek), Blue Sake (sushi), SixtyFour Wine Bar and Quiubo (modern Mexican).  Technically I ate from here once - takeout during covid - but it was so long ago it might as well not count.  Most recently, my wife and I came here for dinner on a Friday in late June and sat outside. The sangria ($14) was strong, I appreciated the extra touches like apple bitters and a float of bourbon.  My wife loved the Pa'Dentro ($15), a cocktail with tequila, passion fruit, and orange liqueur.  The mango habanero margarita ($15) was also mixed perfectly.  5/5 The guacamole ($11) was fresh and flavorful: avocado, tomatillo, onion, cilantro, serrano and lime.  My wife found it a bit too spicy (diced serrano adds more heat than a traditional jalapeno) but I enjoyed it despite a small-ish portion.  4/5 We also got a queso fundido de camaron ($16): melted chihuahua cheese, red onion and pan seared shrimp, with tortillas and cilantro-serrano sauce.  Pan searing the shrimp instead of grilling them is certainly a choice....but not one I'd make again.  2/5 Esquites ($8.50), on the other hand, were awesome: grilled corn, epazote butter, lemon aioli, cotija cheese, tajin.  One of the best we've tried in a long time, but for $9 we expected a lot more elote!  5/5 The birria tacos (2 for $11) were very good; my wife was right to point out they should've come with a cup of birria juice on the side.  The tacos al pastor (2 for $10) were delicious: marinated pork with pineapple, cilantro, onion and salsa morita.  Next time, more tacos!  4.5/5 For dessert we got flan ($10), a creamy vanilla custard with caramel, rompope and cookie crumbs.  It was a denser style of flan and tasted amazing, but I don't know how I feel about that random pile of cookie dust.  4/5 Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 3.5 It took way too long for a server to come over and take our order at the beginning.  Thankfully the food came out FAST!  The bar, on the other hand, was lagging big time.  We were more than halfway finished with dinner by the time our cocktails showed up. Also important note for cheapskates like me: they do not serve free chips & salsa.  Quiubo isn't that kind of place, so if you want salsa with chips, you'll have to pay for it. * TL;DR * Rest assured you can get the same high quality tacos and cocktails from the Bien Trucha group. We were really impressed with a couple items like the esquites/elotes and al pastor tacos, as well as the atmosphere inside.  The vibes outside were solid and even though service was slow at first, we'd love to come back.  I'd recommend Quiubo for sure.

The quality genuinely reminded me of more upscale spots like A Toda Madre or Bien Trucha. The prickly pear margarita was on the smaller side, but they certainly didn't skimp on the tequila. It was crisp, refreshing, and paired perfectly with my meal. Despite a busy Saturday afternoon, service was quick and friendly, and more importantly everyone in our party loved their food and couldn't stop talking about how fresh and flavorful everything was. We also appreciated the toppings bar and salsa selection, which made it easy to customize each taco exactly how we wanted. My only knock is that several tables sat dirty for a while after guests left, and the dining room didn't seem to get much attention. Since this was our first visit during a busy lunch rush, I'm hesitant to say that's the norm, but it was noticeable... Overall, we left happy, full, and already talking about what we'd order next time. We'll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu.

I ordered 5 tacos for me and my wife for $20 and it was amazing. Great value and they gave a ton of meat as well. The staff were also friendly and greeted you. The decor was also very nice and you felt like you're on vacation while you ate. This place is a great compromise for good Mexican food and 100% authentic. PS I ordered the chicken tacos which are bad anywhere you go around here but they were by far my favorite of any Mexican restaurant I've been to. Would highly recommend this place for Mexican food lovers.
