Loved this bar. Beautiful decor and cool menu. The tejuino which is low abv was a very good fermented drink. Would highly recommend!

I will say, I was a bit hesitant about Bar Nena based on some of the Yelp reviews. Added to that, I asked them if I could bring a cake for my friend's bday and they told me there was a $25 cutting fee and it must be a plant based cake. I've heard of cutting fees (which I also have thoughts about) but specifying what type of cake was just silly to me. I would understand if they said no peanuts due to allergies. Anywho, on to the experience. Overall, the bar felt very uptight from the moment you arrive and have to go through a velvet rope to walk down cement stairs. The customer service was just a bit lacking. I wouldn't say they were rude but they definitely weren't friendly and you could tell they didn't want you to stay long. Which is not how patrons should be treated. This also wasn't just my sentiments, I observed people enter the bar and not enjoy themselves and leave without ordering. All of the people I was with also shared my sentiments and had their own qualms. Some positives, I appreciated the thought and storytelling that went into the menu. I had the película drink and it was actually very good. The Latin music and decor were also on point. But I unfortunately wouldn't go back.

We started at Jajaja Mexicana right upstairs and had the: Watermelon tostadas 10/10 Buffalo cauliflower taco10/10 Quesobirria 9/10 Almond horchata 8/10 Everything was delicious. I'm not vegan and I loved all the dishes. I was served by server nickname: "Dudu" ( I think his full name was Eduardo) who was very personable. Then we had a blast downstairs in the bar Nena. I bumped into the Manager Brian who took his time finding a mezcal that worked well for my cousin's taste ( he loved it). He even went the extra mile and took my coat for me and then found us a more fitting table for our bigger group. He was super accommodating. Highly recommend both locations, and would definitely return.

Bar Nena is the new speakeasy of Jajaja in WV with a fun sexy vibe (disco ball, louder music, dark lights, and red velvet couches)- perfect for a girls night or date. I came for a girls night on Friday, and my friend had a reservation. The velvet ropes at the entrance is a bit gimmicky, but the employees working at the entrance were super nice and friendly. For the main event: drinks! We each got two- I got the Pelicula and the Mi Horchata. The Pelicula was my favorite w/ popcorn infused tequila and a little side of popcorn garnish (a tad stale lol but still cute). It tasted like a popcorn-flavored prnstar martini- delicious! The Mi Horchata is a dairy-free version of alcoholic Horchata, which was great for my dairy-allergy friend to try a sip. I will say it was a bit watery for me, didn't have that delicious creaminess I associate with Horchata. My friend got the Para Los Nubes (refreshing), and Infiel (jackfruit-infused and unique). Service was fine downstairs, but they did get a bit busy around 10 pm.

I love this spot! The drinks are on point. My favorites were the Para las Nubes (who doesn't love a plant-based milk punch?) and the Infiel (where else can you find a jackfruit infused tequila cocktail?). The food is delicious - perfect light bites to pair along with the drinks. Our server Keren walked us through the menu and gave great recommendations. The music is always great and the dark lighting creates a super romantic vibe that is awesome for a date. Can't wait to go back!

Great spot to grab crafted cocktails and bites in WV! Vibes are immaculate. Love this spot for a date night or girls night out.

Host was a bit rude when I asked about empty bar seats after she shared that the bar was full for reservations for the rest of the night.

Ordered a Cadillac Margarita (Casamigos) for me + Vodka Martini (Grey Goose) for my partner + thick Fries + Slice of Chocolate Cake Drinks weren't anything special but the fries were hreat and cake hit the spot. Actually, I'm so glad we stumbled in because their cute and short food menu is PERFECTION for lovers of small bites -- crab dumplings, caviar deviled eggs, spicy tuna crispy rice, shrimp cocktail, oysters, sardines, etc... Things I dream of all in one sexy, cozy place that whisks you far away from the streets of Manhattan. Our chairs were comfy, and there were many seating areas that looked equally as inviting. The bar was gorgeous, lighting was super moody. The room was daaark and not very busy on a Friday around 8-8:30 P.M which we appreciated. It delivered on both fronts, but I really was blown away by the wine. The sheer quantity of available wines is really impressive, and the sommelier was able to recommend a rare wine that fit our interests (a fantastic, effervescent, creamy Txakoli that had lovely fruit and minerals). Later, I tried amazing ice cider. The food rundown: -Sesame pizza Bianca: complimentary bread! This was very good and quite sizable. The bottom is entirely encrusted with sesame. -Scallop crudo (rhubarb, shiso): very good and the plating was gorgeous. Meaty scallops with tangy and pungent flavors. -Snowdance chicken (spinach, sherry, thyme): Super tender, crispy-skinned chicken in a savory sherry sauce. -Sea bass (asparagus, hollandaise): I was surprised at how remarkably well this dish worked. The asparagus was so good with the rich, buttery sauce. Definitely a smaller portion, but the chicken was huge so it balanced out. -Potatoes with ramps: Yum. Served hashbrown-style and the ramps were added as little sauce dollops. I loved the space, and by that I mean the ambience and also the literal amount of space we had to ourselves. We got to stretch out in a roomy corner booth. The room featured a lot of exposed brick and grey and utilitarian ceilings, but it manages to be cozy all the same.

We came in on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet inside. After we were sat down upstairs, it took a long time for our waitress to come to take our order. We got the Butterscotch flip, Getaway driver, and Big trouble. These drinks were not it. Although the prices are okay($19 each), they definitely need some improvement. All three had very strong flavors that were not balanced with the rest of the drink. After we finished our drinks, we waited an especially long time for the waitress to come back, check on us, and give us our bill. It was especially frustrating because we were the only ones in the bar at this point and we could hear them chatting downstairs. Overall, both service and the drinks need improvement. Can't really recommend Split Eights over other cocktail bars around.

My friend really enjoyed her drink as well. At $19 per cocktail, it's not the cheapest in the area, but also not the priciest either. Would absolutely recommend Split Eights to anyone looking for craft cocktails in the area.

David made our night. The only reason I would ever walk back into this place is to sit at the bar and let David mesmerize me. FOOD: Broccoli rabe was fresh, but I needed a steak knife to cut through it. It was very al dente. Not cut properly, which is to cut crosses in the stems. Salad was fresh and crisp, high quality fennel and greens. Lovely. Agnoletti was divine. Home made. Focaccia very good with subtle flavors and just the right crust. Olive oil, good. The front of house staff was lovely, two ladies, and a friendly guy. Super lovely. Treated us like friends. Also the busboys were all gentlemen. I loved them. They brushed crumbs off the table with panache. The only complaint is the waiter was robotic, and issued rule after rule. No smile. EX: It was a freezing night. We wanted to order appetizer's first, and have a chance to look at the menu. He couldn't do that. "I need the whole order." Then one of us wanted to order the pre fixe dinner. "You can't do that. You both have to order it." He was very cold, a robot. To enjoy ourselves, we had to push through the horrible treatment. Too bad for the waiter, when I asked about the special pasta, he butchered the pronunciation, giving me a soft pitch to teach him Italian. I blasted him. C'est la vie.
