First time at Pineapple Club! Trendy restaurant with brunch food. Food was high quality but nothing super memorable! The chips and guacamole were basic and not worth the price in my opinion. Calamari was perfectly crispy but also too salty. My favorite was probably the pork and hash dish. It was interesting since the pork and potatoes looked exactly the same so it was a surprise with every bite for what you're getting LOL. Service was a little slow and I was also surprised that they didn't provide a free dessert or a free drink for my friend. When I made a reservation, I noted that it was my friend's birthday. We ordered a lot of food and also drinks (forgot to take photos of the drinks) but no dessert was offered. When I've made reservations at other restaurants for a friend's birthday, they usually do something special, whether that's a small dessert on the house or a card. read more

A cute little place in east village. I came with a big party (recommend making a reservation) and we were escorted down to the downstairs area. Honestly, I didn't realize how big the restaurant was inside until I walked in. High ceilings and a nicely decorated liquor wall really added to the vibe. Some of my friends got the NYC Restaurant Week menu, which was a 3-course dinner including starter, entree, and dessert. I honestly don't know why this place is so popular. The food I had was No Bueno aka No Good. I should have known better than to order the Chicken and Waffle from here but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. What I got was a basic low effort thrown together dish. Personally, I think the chicken may have been some frozen Chicken bites ( no bone) that they warmed up and put beside the waffles to make my dish. I could have completely made this dish for myself at home. I should note, they were generous with the blueberries on the waffles. I also ordered a NA drink, the Ginger Lime Spritz which I did enjoy. Nowadays restaurants basically charge the same for NA drinks as alcoholic beverages which I think is annoying. But I did appreciate that they were able to split up the bill for each of us in the party no problem. Some establishments can make the bill splitting such a hassle. Finally, although the venue was cute and they had an area in the back with a glass ceiling that allowed the light in like if we were in greenhouse, I did not like the stains left on the seats. Judging by the name, I thought it was going to be a Caribbean vibe... but it's not lol- just a heads up! We popped in spontaneously on a Thursday evening. Since the weather was horrible and rainy, it wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. The interior is upscale, trendy, and spacious so it's a good spot for large groups, night outs, and dates. It's like a lounge atmosphere that caters more towards a younger crowd. We tried their menu for NYC Restaurant Week. It's a 3 course dinner (starter, entree, and dessert) for $45 per person (doesn't include taxes and gratuity). Our orders: *Striped Bass Ceviche- This was the star dish of the meal! It included passion fruit, jalapeño, red onion, and cucumber with yellow corn tortilla chips. It hit a ton of flavor palates- sour, citrusy, savory, spicy, sweet. *Plaintains and Guacamole- Now this was FRESH guac and you could tell right away. *PC Burger with side of french fries- This burger was more filling than I expected... I was STUFFED. It comes with 2 x 4 oz. patties, American cheese, pickles, and secret sauce on a potato roll. Beef patties were juicy and cooked just how I like it (medium). The fries were super crispy... yum. *Kiwi and Coconut Sorbet Sundae- Smooth, refreshing, and tarty! There were fresh pieces of coconut and kiwi pulp. *Key Lime Pie- This was actually more of a tart or a mini pie because of how small it was. But it tasted exactly like how it's supposed to be. I wish I could say good things about our drinks, but they were on the weaker side. We got a lychee martini ($17) and a pineapple old fashioned ($19). They tasted more like a fruit juice. They definitely needed more liquor. Service was excellent! They took care of us and were very attentive with refilling our waters, clearing dishes, and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. Overall, this was a good find for restaurant week! However, I don't think I'd come back. I wasn't impressed with their drinks. The rest of their menu is mainly small bites and sandwiches at hefty prices. They only have 2 entree options, so it's very limited. And it's NYC, so of course everything is inflated. This place is cutely decorated and is definitely more of a get drunk at kind of place. We shared the XL mimosa which came in a really fun huge flamingo and is made with pineapple juice but was not strong at all. I ordered the pineapple Express with subbed out potatos instead of salad for no extra charge. It was good but not amazing but the potatoes seemed to be a decent crisp! Those of us on the couch were sitting straight and uncomfortably for our whole meal, unsure of what to do with the pillows that were too big for the seats and too large to put behind our backs. It's clear that Pineapple Club specializes in drinks. The bowls we got were similar in taste to Chipotle, and the salad was well mixed but really minimal in terms of ingredients. A little late to review but I came here during the Christmas/new year week mainly to try their holiday drinks. Beautifully adorned with pineapples, this place features a vibrant decor that radiates a cheerful and lively ambiance. Notably, we ordered the holly jolly highball, pumpkin spice, and nog your socks off. My drink was the holly jolly highball that came in a cute, little Christmas ornament. The drink was a fun, instagrammable pouring experience and it tasted delicious as the wine paired very well with the pomegranate juice. The pumpkin pie tasted exactly like pumpkin spice and it was deliciously sweet. Nog your socks off was also coconut, creamy sweet. These drinks did not have a strong alcohol taste and tasted very good. We also ordered some other small appetizers to pair with our drinks like the mushroom spring roll, coconut shrimp, and the chips and guac. Defs recommend the chips and guac if you need to snack on something while drinking. Although the coconut shrimp and spring roll (not a fan of the herbal dipping sauce) was good, I'm not so sure I would get these starters again because of its price vs quantity. We all opted for the bottomless rosé and it was delicious--honestly perfect because rosé is so hit or miss for me! I ordered avocado toast and a side of sausage. If you eat meat, specifically beef, ORDER THE SAUSAGE! They make their sausage in house and it is amazing! My avocado toast was good. My friend ordered the sweet potato hash and loved it. I rarely leave reviews, but this visit left such a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively) that I felt like I should. I just had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in my life at Pineapple Club. While me and my party were seated quickly, the service went downhill from there. It took about 10 minutes just to get a fountain drink, and my food didn't come out until over 30 minutes after everyone else's. The server did take it off the bill, but offered us all shots to make up for it which felt tone-deaf since none of us were drinking. My friends' food was cold, and when mine finally arrived, it was partially incorrect...points for consistency, I guess. Once my food arrived, the server seemed annoyed with us, didn't ask how anything was, and made the rest of the meal uncomfortable. After clearing our plates, it took another 10 minutes just to get the check, and he made a point to tell us that the 20% gratuity was already included since we were a party of six (maybe that explains the lack of effort). We were there for a total of two hours for what should've been a quick brunch. Definitely won't be coming back, and I'd recommend avoiding this spot altogether. My I'll Never Lychee Go ($15) had a cute name, with a pretty good lychee flavor, although the prominent alcohol is fighting for attention. There's apparently citrus in this, but I didn't taste any. I had to fill my stomach, so I reluctantly ordered a Fried Chicken Sandwich ($21). I don't know what "Secret Sauce" in their burger is, but let me tell you it is SWEET! I had the New York strip, served with Togarashi potatoes (though I couldn't taste any spice). The flavors of the steak were good and the nori butter really added complexity. The outside was well charred. But I ordered medium and the steak was on the doorstep of well done. So it really affected how I felt about the meal. I also ordered the BBQ season fries. The fries are great--hot and crisp and thick. But I would order them plain next time. There was just too much seasoning for me. The servers were attentive and laid back and super welcoming. Some were pretty small as well (2/5) - Chicken & Waffles ($26): They gave 4/5 small pieces of chicken with a waffle that looked like it was premade (like eggo waffles). Yesterday was my third time at Pineapple Club and I've never had a bad drink here. My friend and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and were seated right away at a high top table across from the bar. We didn't realize we would have a server, so we just went up to order our drinks from the bartender. We both got Espresso Martinis ($16 each), and I highly recommend you do the same. These are the best Espresso Martinis in the city, in my opinion - creamy but not too creamy, strong, and well balanced. Everyone I bring here absolutely loves them! The ambiance was relaxed but I've also seen this place get extremely crowded at night, even though there are two floors of seating. Everywhere from the drinks to staff wearing pineapple shirts, the establishment plays right into the theme of its moniker. I got the Pineapple Old-fashioned and it delivered on the pineapple taste. If you're an old-fashioned enthusiast, this is a fun incarnation on the classic cocktail but if you're a purist, you might get disappointed because you don't get the whiskey taste or an impression of the bitters.
