Great first time experience at Rear End Gastropub. Service is great. Very friendly staff. We sat close to the music which was great. The beer is cold and the food is hot! Fries are so yummy! We will definitely be back

The food was ok...not spectacular but just decent. The wings could have used some more seasoning and the fries aren't my favorite---I think they are too thick. The burger was hearty and pretty tasty. I love the ambiance, it's got a great open space and a huge bar. The servers were really nice.

Awesome bar and restaurant! They have an excellent outdoor space with fake grass, picnic tables with umbrellas, and tables on the patio under the shade of the roof over hang. There's also a large indoor seating area with tvs to watch sports. We sat in the grass area since it's dog friendly and allows easy self-ordering at the window. The menu is filled with delicious food options from burgers and philly cheesestakes, to tacos and pastas. I ordered the Fire Philly and it was absolutely delicious! Not only is the sandwich giant, but it's stuffed full of tender strip steak, red peppers, jalapeños, provolone cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Then topped with mayo and combustion sauce to give it extra spice. All of this on a fresh Mancini's bun. Every bite was flavorful and the perfect spice level that left your taste buds slightly burning for more. The dish also came with steak fries that were seasoned nicely. They also have a wide variety of local beer options on the drink menu to refresh your palate. I got the Trails to Ales Kiwi Berry Bliss Fruited Sour and really enjoyed it. The service was the biggest wow factor of the experience. An employee came out within 10mins with a water bowl and pup cup for my dog. All free and done without asking! Food came out quickly and hot off the grill. Excellent experience and I can't wait to come back!

I suspect this is a fun place to grab a beer. The beer list looks to be well-conceived with plenty of quality local brews available. The food, on the other hand, seems fairly uninspired. We ordered takeout, and the food was what it claimed to be but with the bare minimal amount of effort put into its preparation and presentation. The southwest veggie wrap was more of a dense burrito with limited vegetables than a wrap. The "inconceivable burger" (an Impossible Foods burger) was fairly plain and required some extra vegetables and sauces from my own fridge to transform it into something interesting. The shop salad was exactly what it claimed to be and nothing more. All that having been said, the space was nice, open, and inviting. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and our order was well packaged and ready to go exactly when they said it would be. If you're looking for a beer and some bar food, this is probably a reasonable destination: just don't expect anything more than that. I wouldn't exactly place it in the gastropub category.

Ordered on 6/1/24 Ate List: - Smash Burger, Score: 7.4 - Fries, Score: 8.3 Cool restaurant, lots of space, great atmosphere, and the location is in a solid spot in Etna. Service was fast and very polite. Was steered toward the burger. It was tasty. The patties are definitely on the more "charred" side for smash burgers which depending on your preferences will either be wonderful news or very much a turn off. The Fries were delicious! Thick cut and yet light. They were VERY addicting. Would happily go back to try something else, their menu was overwhelming in the best ways (everything sounded good).

The gathering was small for a Sunday and nice to a burger and beer while enjoying a little football. The company was good. Served at the bar and was very happy with the way the set up was going. Meat was a little lite on the beef but I had no complaints on my chicken and fries.

Sat at the bar which is our go to. The bartender was great and the local people inviting. Had 2 types of wings, chicken w/salad and Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with fries. Nashville Hot was crazy Hot but well done if you like heat.

I drive by here and always wondered so my roomies and I got it today , staff was good , the building was unique to say the least and the menu was classic but had some items that were different I got the Korean which to mean could have used more sauce 4/5 The fries were a bit of like the bottom of a bin to me 2/5 Overall I would stop by and if you got a bland day you should too ! 3/5

Braved the frigid temps today (single digits) to have lunch here with my sons and everything was DELICIOUS. Azia was our waitress and did a fantastic job. The pics tell the whole story...!

Maybe a few people at the bar and a couple of tables. We ordered nachos, burger, and a gyro. We waited over nearly 90 minutes for food. Every time we asked we were told the nacho cheese needed to be heated up. Funny that when the food arrived, the cheese on nachos was cold? The server/owner/whoever didn't seem concerned when I mentioned the time. If you want to have a beer, fine. If you have any desire to get your moneys worth buying any type of food, skip it. There are so many better options on Butler St. that serve the same beer with better service and food and/or food trucks who will be mindful of your order. Sad.

We got a few beers and started with nachos. The nachos were good, a bit pricey, but good. We didn't love the beer cheese so I wouldn't start with this again. Their menu has a lot so no concerns. We decided to get their Yinser Cheesesteak and I would get it again. It was big, the cheesesteak was very good (slightly on the sweet side). The only way to improve this meal is grill the bun but that is preference. We got here and no one was here but by the time we left there was 20 or more. The bartender was great: super friendly and he was a great guide. The place was slightly loud in the main room but they have a lot of space to spread out; there are other areas you can go to for large groups or groups that want a quieter environment. The key...I WILL BE HERE AGAIN.

My girl friends and I came after four years of me wanting to come here. I love Gravel Grinder and live close to an OTB so heard of Dancing Gnome from that. Finally made our way there and well, make sure you do not bring young kids. My friend had an 18 month old with us and as she was BUYING a beer from them, the guy who worked there asked if she "could keep the screaming to a minimum." An eighteen month old!!! And Mother's Day is tomorrow, nice. He said that they had to draw a line somewhere and he wasn't kidding. The 18 month old was not running around screaming crying all day. We were outside having the kids play and when my friend was buying a beer he got a bit fussy and was told to keep it to a minimum. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. If you have small children, I would not suggest this place. Super disappointing. I've always hyped their beer and place up and now I can't support it. We ended up going to Grist House and it was a WAY better vibe and WAY busier...I wonder why. I should have known when their sign said no dogs allowed.

They had a heated rooftop and DJ at the bottom. There were two bartenders working when I went. At the front, they had a wheel you could spin for $8 for a randomized drink. They also do trivia on Tuesday I believe. I got the curry poutine fries, which I've gotten from another restaurant before and they were amazing. I think this place puts a lot of sauce and cheese on but I think it would taste better if it had the curry on the bottom and had crispy fries to delay the time they get soggy. It was topped with green onions which was nice and a good fresh flavor addition. It's a huge platter of fries for $16 though - great to share for a group. I think their wing deal is worth trying - 10 wings for $15 and a MYRIAD of flavors to pick from.
