Short ribs - really good, skimpy polenta portion. 2- guispe Pasta with sausage- ok 3- Alfredo pasta, ok also. 4 spaghetti and meatballs- generous serving, didn't have much taste. I have been seeing talk about this new restaurant circulating around Facebook and was interested to check it out. My girlfriend wanted to take me out for a birthday dinner and suggested it. Here are my higihlights: -First impression: much smaller than I thought, small parking lot but it was a nice touch to add complimentary valet. -No booths, it's all tables. Since we were two, we sat at a very small table and had to keep re arranging our plates because it was tight. -Do not like how the bathrooms are down the same aisle as the kitchen. Ran into the staff on my way in and out/awkward. -We were given bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar mix. The bread was really hard. -We ordered calamari to start. Lightly breaded and tasted fresh. Came with fried zucchini. Good touch. -I had a house salad with their homemade creamy Italian dressing. The dressing was excellent! -I ordered the Giuseppe Pasta. It was phenomenal! The sausage and mushrooms were a great touch. The sauce was flavorful and creamy. -My friend had the lasagna but was disappointed. It wasn't a typical square piece, it was in a small casserole dish and all meshed together if that makes sense versus in layers. -We ordered the donuts for dessert. Very soft and delicious. It came with 3 toppings. - We felt rushed, everything was fast paced. Did not like that. Overall, great ambiance, good for large groups. Pasta was good. Some family members had been to Bar Verona and loved it so much they had returned 4 times within 2 weeks and happy to say the 4th time was with us. We went on a Saturday evening around 6:30 (made reservations) and were seated right away. We started with the charcuterie board and fried calamari which were both fantastic. They had a cheese on the charcuterie board that was so smooth and not too sharp as some of those imported Italian cheeses can be. By the way I love when a place has a really good charcuterie board as they have in Italy. We also had bruschetta which was amazing, nice and crispy and the fried calamari had fried zucchini which is always good. I chose the special of the day which was bronzino (Italian sea bass/whitefish) I always love when that's in the menu but not a fan of the fish being presented with the head on it still. It was still amazing just have to reprogram my thinking. Husband had the boneless short ribs which he loved. They were very tender. Not impressed dessert was great and over food was ok. Chicken Marsala was ok but small portions for price. I could of had a better salad at a coney. We spent $80 for two without drinks and the server had no clue about the menu. We sat down at a dirty table and had to ask her to clean it. It was just ok and expect a lot more for the price. This restaurant is beautiful! The service was great, all of the managers were very hands on and the food and drinks came out promptly. The tequila drink was amazing along with all of the food we ordered. The only thing I didn't get a picture of was the calamari because we ate it too quickly. The marinara had chunks of garlic in it which was DELICIOUS! My husband had the branzino and really enjoyed it and my short ribs were cooked perfectly and it had a very good glaze that came on it. They gave us a free sample of the tiramisu which was a knockout but I decided to try the chocolate torte and I'm so glad I did because it was the best desert I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Unfortunately, they didn't have the cannoli available but that was our only issue we had and for just opening, I would say that's a win! The service was amazing but the food was meh. I come to restaurants to eat not to make friends but the staff WAS great. Unfortunately, the pricing was also way out of line. The calamari was slightly overcooked, the meatballs while good, we're not out of this world, and the salad just didn't have that great of a dressing or accoutrements. Overall 2.5 stars but the service pushes it to a 3 to 3.25 star. Way too many great Italian / foodie type places in the area to keep this going forever...The food is going to have to improve. read more

Then, general manager spent 35 minutes talking to her friends next to us vs checking on tables. Normally who cares...... but ordered pasta - served cold. Drink.... No request for refill.... The young staff were fine, but shame on the manager Who bragged to her friends how great things were.... How would she know??? She cared more about a gender reveal than cold food. Checked this place out on opening night ! Fantastic job on their first night open. Staff and service were awesome. Beautifully decorated; love the atmosphere. Food wise, we had the burrata, margarita pizza, and the insalata di casa. Our friends order the meat ball, pesto gnocchi, and sausage and peppers pizza. Our friends enjoyed their entire meal with no big complaints . Our burrata was pretty good; a lot of different flavor profiles happening, which we enjoyed. The salad was fairly underwhelming. However the margarita pizza was pretty terrible. My husband used the words "middle school cafeteria pizza " to describe the taste and texture lol. Maybe we screwed up ordering a margarita pizza at this type of restaurant, but we would never recommend it. This place is amazing inside the atmosphere is so good the servers are attentive and the manager and GM all stopped by to make sure our experience was everything we wanted. As for the food first the cocktails one word Amazing! If you like meatballs "GET" the meatball appetizer the best I have had since my Nona passed away, amazingly good and the marinara sauce is to die for... we both ordered the fresh made gnocchi one with tomatoe cream and one with bolognese. Both sauces were good but for me the gnocchi were way to mushy almost like doughy, for me I prefer them firmer , but talk about fresh , emmmm. So here is were things get what I would call cheap. We asked for bread and oil they brought out three little pieces of bread, no they were great, really good but to bring out three little pieces.... after dinner we wanted desert, I ordered the Lemoncello cake and the cannoli. The cake was great and good size but the cannoli was three very small cannoli that were not even filled all the way thru. One pet peeve I have is when I get a cannoli is not filled. These were ricotta cheese filled and tasted nothing like it. This is my second time at Bat Verona and the server Vinny made such an impression on what amazing service is all about. He went above and beyond to explain the menu and what Bar Verona is all about. He was so helpful with explaining it to my aunt and my dad as well. My dad who has dementia can sometimes be short and he did a great job accommodating all of us. My husband and I were looking forward to trying this place out with friends, but sadly were disappointed for multiple reasons. First, I do want to say that parking is hard to find. I am not marking them down for this, but if you are meeting people there, it is a good idea to maybe carpool to make it easier. Our drinks were pretty good, but overpriced at $12 and $14 a piece in my opinion. I can see this as being a price in a large city, but we go to other comparable restaurants in the area where similar drinks cost much less. We ordered the crostini appetizer for the 4 of us. It came out with 3 pieces of crostini. It didn't specify on the menu how many pieces, but it seems to me that people are probably ordering it frequently (not always) in even numbers (couples and 4 people at a table). And it was difficult to cut without it falling apart, so it made it difficult to share. It seems to me that it would have made much more sense adding one more piece so that everyone could have their own without it falling apart. Our friends ordered the chopped salad to share. Portion wise even after it had been split it seemed like a lot. So, when my order of butternut squash ravioli came out with just 5 pieces of ravioli (not large ravioli, just regular), I was quite disappointed. I am not a huge eater, but for $18 for an entree that was basically pasta and squash (no meat), I felt that it was highly overpriced. I will say that it did taste pretty good though at least. My husband had a fish meal (which was even more) and he still had to eat more when he came home (I would not describe him as someone who eats a ton either). The ambiance was nice, and as for the service, our waitress was pretty good service wise. But, we did have a bill mix-up (she gave us one bill per couple which was nice, but everything was mixed up on it so our husbands ending up trying to straighten it out themselves with cash on hand). Overall, I would not recommend this place if you care anything about value as it was quite an expensive meal for us to both still be hungry afterwards. Bar Verona is an awesome new modern Italian restaurant owned by the famous Fabio Viviani. Fabio is from Firenze, Italy and was on Bravo Top Chef. The interior and exterior of Bar Verona is GORGEOUS! I have been to this location several times. Some of my favorite menu items are the cheese ravioli, short rib with polenta, and the charcuterie. My two most favorite items are the crostini di burrata and tiramisu. These are MUST orders!! The service is great too! My first time here. They've been open a very short time but some points that stood out for me. Very pleasant staff. They genuinely seemed to enjoy their job and it shows. They have a nice varied menu with a brunch section. Atmosphere, music mix We had the Calamari which has a wonderful light batter and came with roasted lemon which was a nice touch. It also had fried zucchini pieces which were delicious and I don't like zucchini! I have to comment on the Olive oil. This is often overlooked but there are differences in olive oils. The one they use (extra virgin from Spain) is delicious! The bread was equally fantastic. My main course was the short rib hash. It was simply amazing. I wanted to take some home but I just couldn't stop eating it! You won't go wrong choosing Bar Verona for your meal. read more

What a beautiful restaurant, the staff at the bar was so helpful in making cocktail and dinner recommendations, even going so far as to suggest how modify a selection to make it even better. Loved the decor, menu items and selection of drinks. One of the best old fashions we have had yet. Strongly recommended it over drink #1 on the menu. Meal portions are large by what we observed around us. I had the Chicken Marsala and my wife the salmon. Both were very tasty. Big selection of pasta on the menu. Went last night had reservation for a small group and we were seated pretty quickly. Would give 5 stars for the overall look and atmosphere but 3 or less for the food. Maybe being new need to still figure things out. Ordered calamari and meatballs . Both orders of calamari were chewy. Meatballs were ok. Ordered short ribs and awhile after ordering they said they were out. Salmon was salty and a little over cooked. Chicken Fettuccine sauce was meh and the chicken was dry. Lasagna was ok. The potatoes that came with the branzini were black, dry and shriveled tasted like they were days old. Overall pretty unimpressed with the food.
