The sandwich was not pleasant as it was very flat and need more meat in the servings, I had the half sandwich and it came out really flat, i felt I was only eating buns with some flavors. The place is small but it has a very cute vibe. The service was good, and I liked how they kept water at the table for you to pour into your own glass. The food selection is okay. I wish they had more options for those who don't eat red meat (or even very much meat)- but I'm sure for those who do they would love the selection. Then we both got sandwiches- I got the Sandwich de Pollo (it was okay) and my husband got the Medianoche Sandwich (he said it was good but would get something else next time). So let me start off by saying that A the only good part of my visit her was the server Vidal!! But let me start off by saying that my son made a reservation to go eat here . It was kind of late but he called twice to let them know we were coming. We got there and it was dead . Don't know why we needed to make a reservation but anyway we ordered appetizers , drinks and food. We had to return our food 3 times before it was served correct. It was so cold to touch. Then we got our main course and my son had to send it back because of how cold it was. I believe they comped something on our bill, but it was still almost $200 for cold food.. I recommended this place to a lot of people because it usually has good food but whoever was running the kitchen tonight had no idea what good service was.. not that am saying I will never go back, hopefully I will. I won't have to deal with the lack of care that was going on in the kitchen. As a kitchen worker myself, I understand the frustration of last-minute reservations or last-minute customers coming in requesting this or that if it was such an inconvenience, then they shouldn't accept anybody within an hour of their closing time for me and my kids to experience such bad service from the cooks side with being served very cold food is very unacceptable I hope management takes care of the situation. I'm not asking for anything . I paid my bill. I tipped my server , vidal, which was amazing, but I just hope that little bit more training what it takes to be a cook. read more

Outstanding little hole in the wall for a great meal. I drove by it a few times but once I found it in the plaza complex it was so obvious. The service is great. Read the yelp reviews so my wife and I decided to eat here for lunch. We have always loved Cuban food and this place doesn't disappoint. First off our waiter/barkeep was super friendly. My wife loved the decor and atmosphere of the place. It felt nice and cozy since the restaurant isn't very big. We started off with a wine sampler since my wife is a wine buff. It's a nice option to try a small sample of different wines before buying a full glass. I had the Cubano sandwich which was awesome. My wife had the Pollo bowl which also a big hit, very tasty and filling with generous portions of chicken. We finished off our meal with the flan desert which was also great. It's a little tricky to find when you turn into the plaza, but just look for the first place you see when you turn into the driveway. The sign is a little small. But honestly everything I have ever eaten there has been great I love it there food is served with fresh Platanos and their service is amazing the fast and friendly and in the night they sometimes have performers which makes it feel like you're somewhere else. I stumbled across this place (of course, thank you Yelp!) when I was staying the night in Palmdale for work and I am so glad I did!! It was awesome! Everyone was really friendly and greeted me right when I arrived and they had live music that started shortly after I sat down. I started with the white sangria-- which was just what I needed after a long day. I am not usually a fan of sangria because it is usually too sweet for me, but this was light and fruity. I started with the Papa Rellena to start-- because I'm a meat and potatoes girl-- how much better can it get!? They were delicious. Great seasoning and creamy potatoes in a little fried package-- yum! For dinner I ordered the Lechon Asado and a side of veggies. Now, I have had Cuban friends cook dinner for me before and this is by far the best Cuban meal I have had--- soooo good!! The meat was full of flavor and tender, the beans were delious and the veggies were perfectly sautéed and seasoned. I really appreciated the manager helping me find the perfect red to pair with the food, as well. Kudos! I was really impressed with this place and I wish it was closer to home. Baracoa Lounge is a small, cozy Cuban restaurant with a full bar & friendly, welcoming staff. Honestly, I fall between 3-4 stars on this place, because the food is pricey and not mindblowing, but it's such a huge surprise to find in Palmdale, compared to pretty much any other restaurant in the Antelope Valley. I'll say 3 stars for the food, but I'll round up to 4 stars overall for the LA feel of the environment of the restaurant despite the fact that it's located in the AV. I shared the Sandwich Cubano ($10) and the Ropa Vieja ($17). The Cubano was meatier than I was expecting, fell apart a little as I ate it, and not one of the best I've ever had, but it was still enjoyable. The fries were surprisingly good with a little garlic & oil added on top (minus the mysterious chunk of something very burnt and black that was found mixed in at the bottom). The Ropa Vieja had a generous portion of beef, but was a little too oily and wet for my liking. I also would have been happier if there had been more plantains, because the plate only came with three small ones, which tasted really good. We had the Red and White Sangrias ($8 each), which were actually surprisingly strong, and not drowning in fruit, which I liked. My only two complaints are that they had live music, which is cool, but it was way too loud for such a small restaurant. I was yelling across the table & at one point, we just stopped talking. All the waiters were also yelling to one another, just so much yelling...Secondly, for a restaurant in the AV, everything's much pricier than would have been imagined, but I would come here again. read more

I'm glad I can still go there in our COVID-19 world. Is this the "new normal"? Anyway, awesome food! The Ropa Vieja is now my "go-to". I usually get an "Iron Beer" (sometimes I get a couple to go, on top of what I want with my meal.). Of course, everything is "to-go" now. The Papas Rellenas are really good too. Found this restaurant on Yelp when driving through. Wow flavor was Amazing and good portions. Ordered the chicken with Congri instead of the black beans and rice and Tostones instead of the Maduros. Hubby ordered 1/2 sandwich Baracoa Sandwich, which was a Pan con lechón and bacon. The yuca with mojo was very dry, we let them know so I'm sure next time it will be good. Whenever we go to a Cuban Restaurant we always have the Flan. If the Flan is good you know the place is good. I have to say the Flan was Amazing, so creamy delicious!! I don't live in Palmdale but if you are ever in the area you won't be disappointed. Our Server was very nice and good service. If you like Filipino Tueon, you'll probably like this even more. A little less sweet, lighter and doesn't make you feel gross and an over-eater. I loved every last bit.
