I've come here in the past and always had a good experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. I recently came with a group from church for a going-away gathering, and unfortunately the service did not match what I've experienced before. Our waitress came across as rude and inattentive, and at times it felt like our group was an inconvenience. A few of my friends even had their plates set down very abruptly, which made the experience uncomfortable. On top of that, the owner didn't seem very welcoming either. To make matters worse, the prices have gone up quite a bit, and the value just doesn't feel the same as it used to. I'm really hoping this was just an off day, because this place used to be one I enjoyed. But based on this visit, I'm not sure I'd return. read more

Love this cafe. I was introduced by my co worker to this spot and let me tell you it does not disappoint. I always order the salad and half sandwich from here. I love their chicken focaccia sandwich with their salad. The mandarin salad is super flavorful and very filling. The service here is always top notch and the ladies here are always very friendly. This is a staple in antelope valley you cannot ignore. Greenhouse has been here as many years as I have and they have not changed much at all. The menu is smallish being that there are main things and a variety but they do t expand much. Great options for anyone loving fresh ingredient sandwiches salads and soups for sure. The Cajun chicken salad and club sandwich is my "go to" but others here are just as good. The mandarin chicken salad is excellent as well. Lots of great options here. The decide never changes and this I like to say is the place you bring mom after church kinda thing. I also come here when I want to feel better about life hahah The world would be a little bit sad if we lost Greenhouse. Service is good, you order at the bar which i don't like but it is efficient. Came to the café for lunch today because I had an gift card which didn't work by the way we got a chicken salad and I got the marinated tri-tip sandwich with no mushrooms. I had to add sautéed onion and bell pepper. I wish they would've had a spicy mayo to put on it because it was a little bland. My wife enjoyed her salad. I haven't been there in a really long time. The survice was good. My order was to go so they didn't really do much. The restaurant was nice and clean. They have a lot of parking all around. It was a nice day. I ordered the pastrami sliders and chips, which were the special of the day. First off, the chips were disappointing. There were so few on the plate it felt like someone just dumped out a mini bag from behind the counter. Barely a serving. Now, the sandwich. The pastrami was clearly microwaved, rubbery and hard on the edges, extremely dry in the middle, and not seasoned. It was supposed to come with Swiss cheese, but there was barely a sprinkle of it and I think it may have been parmesan. It honestly tasted like frozen meat, not fresh at all. The whole thing was bland, tasteless, and lifeless. As for their "infamous" salads, let's be real. It's just a pile of chopped iceberg lettuce with some canned mandarin oranges or dry chicken tossed on top. There's nothing gourmet about it. I tasted a few dishes from my friends and it was just plain underwhelming. Their house salad dressing was nice but that was the only thing. And the soup? That was straight up canned. It tasted processed. No way it was made in house. If it was homemade, the cook needs some lessons! I'm honestly confused by the good reviews. My experience didn't even come close to meeting the hype. I left unimpressed and doubt that I would be back unless my 86 yr old Mom insists on going somewhere bland! The ideas are there with their food but the food needs a lot of improving. read more

We booked a party for 40 to celebrate a 90th birthday. The banquet room was nice and separate from the main restaurant. The service was on time and the food was great. We were able to choose which foods we wanted to serve. We booked the room from 5 - 8 pm and got there an hour early to set up and decorate. The clean-up was provided by the banquet staff. There was several tables of 8-10, so guests could sit where they wanted. There was a table provided for the gifts and we brought in our own cake. A friend took us to lunch and I've been before but many years ago the girls were nice my friend had soup and a chicken salad it looked great he enjoyed it my husband ordered the clam chowder it was watery and had a fishy taste I told him not to eat it all that he might get sick I ordered the French dip there was just meat on the sandwich and it was very dry the dip was good but salty it came with a macaroni salad way mayo forward and it too was old the tomato I think it was tomato was mushy it was a little better with pepper I'll not return to bad years ago it was pretty darn good I just hope we don't get sick read more

I went in and placed an order for three items, not realizing the price when I got there or I went to ordered it and paid for it and got home and looked at the receipts so that is my fault, but I have to order a chicken pasta with Angel Hair $20 for a half order of chicken pasta. Are you freaking kidding me you are more expensive than any Italian restaurant just for a half order of pasta I can see maybe a full order you give me a little tiny tub with a piece of garlic bread $20. I've been coming here for over 10 years.. I loved coming on Sundays.. I ALWAYS ordered the same thing, I would get the additional cup of soup for $1.00 ..(their clam chowder ALWAYS my favorite). I hate to leave a bad review (the food is great), but I only scrolled through a few comments below and quickly saw that I wasn't alone. Typically their food is delicious, but I usually order delivery. I went in for the first time recently and the young man at the counter was awful. This puts a really bad taste in your mouth as a customer. Rude, no greeting but starts talking to me so I start ordering and he walks away. Comes back and takes order with just an overall "I'd rather be anywhere but here" attitude. He wouldn't speak up so my mother who's hard of hearing could barely understand him. Mumbled things at us and when we tried to clarify or laugh it off (I tried lightening the mood but he made it more uncomfortable) he wouldn't answer and just stared blankly. Food was amazing! The price seemed steep at first but once the food came out it was actually well worth the price. The portions are huge !! You do order at the front, I don't know if this is just something they continued after COVID, but the atmosphere felt like it used to be a typical restaurant. Having someone take your order, check in on you, just make sure things were going well through out being there. My SO and I came in for a late dinner. It is my first time here. The ambiance was casual, plenty of tables and do have a function room. We ordered Onion Soup in a bowl and Shrimp Scampi Linguini. I would say my pasta was okay. I have tasted better. It was too lemony. ( Probably because they are closing in 35minutes when we ordered). Our server was accommodating. She kept on checking on us. I walk in and I stand there for a minute or two. I understood someone was during catering orders and someone was taking an order over the phone. There was a lady chilling and peeking to see I guess if I was being helped. She didn't know if it was my order but she went straight to the ordered and handed it to me. No Greeting or anything. I asked her if they had Cracker for my Clam Chowder and she said I can check. As I'm looking she said "That's All we Have" . Hit up Lancaster today for some escape rooms with the family and we dropped in to Greenhouse Cafe for lunch before getting to work on beating those rooms. I thought it was a diner type restaurant when I looked it up but it's more like fast/casual. When you walk in they have the menu on the wall and you order at the register. After ordering they'll hand you your drink and number and you seat yourself, they bring your food out to you so it's kind of like a sit down place but a little on the speedier side of service. The food was good, I enjoyed the Cajun Chicken Pasta quite a bit. My wife liked her veggie sandwich but said the French Onion soup was "just ok." My parents weren't super impressed with the food for the price. Make no mistake it's pretty good food but it's price. 2 meals and 2 drinks for my wife and I was $45, if you're going to charge that much it should be a home run and while mine was great not everyone at the table agreed. It's a pretty pricy drop in and the food might be hit or miss for you. My personal experience was good but not all of my family had the same experience. read more

I've been several times to this place in the past 16 years and I still enjoy it. I typically order their salads. The first time I ever tried their food was in Ventura County back in the late 1990's. The Lancaster location is one of their last locations, but it seems to be going strong. My salad came with fresh ingredients and the dressing tasted homemade although I'm not sure if it is. Their soups are pretty good, but my favorites are their salads. The decor has a 1990's country feel and look to it, which I appreciate. The staff has been historically nice over the years.
