My aunt made reservations to this place in Palmdale. Palmdale is a very dry, hot heated area, surrounded by bushes and lizards and maybe snakes too. Anyway, this place apparently is a fancy Cuban restaurant according to my aunt. We decided to eat here for dinner after 7pm on a Saturday and it was booked. A great place to take a date if you can even get one nowadays, lucky you. You found the right place. The Cuban food ordered was a vaca frita sandwich that was reasonably priced at $17 or so. It was dry, lacked seasoning and had even more dry plantain chips on the side fried to high heaven. My aunt ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. Still dry but more moist than my vaca frita sandwich. Server was Juan, he was good, good patience and quick delivery. Good overall was mid in my book. Maybe should have ordered the $65 plate with seafood. But it was overpriced. Although I could afford it, $65 for a plate is ridiculous. The other entrees included the fried bananas but the sweeter ones and black beans and rice with for example oxtail, fried steak, chicken and pork, of which was overpriced as well. At least $30 for each dish or more. Take a look at that menu. The ambiance inside was loud, outside was louder. Music was playing and there was this massive window door that separated the inside and outside. Inside it was small, there was a bar area for alcohol drinkers and in the back was a nice restroom. Other than that, it was a decent Cuban place, needs to adjust prices for the entree, but the sandwiches were at that sweet spot. The sand which to me needed sauce like tabasco or cholulu or some sort of wet birria sauce that would make it taste better. Incredibly dry, was not a fan of the texture, taste was fine. Came out to $50 for both plates and it was a little lackluster in my opinion but everything else, good service, nice ambiance and decent sandwich prices, it was worth the visit but maybe a one and done not sure. Maybe the plates are delicious.

Came here for a girls day. Have to say the place was really cute, but I'm surprised how small it was on the inside. They did have tables outside, but it was too hot for us. Parking was super easy. The drinks were delicious and the sandwiches we got were very good, and you can just taste how fresh the ingredients were. The service was also very good, and the lady was very patient with us, since it took us a bit to order, since we were catching up.

Baracoa Cuban is in Palmdale and that can be a real drive for some. But it is worth it. They have great Cuban food and if it is Cuban they have it. It is all made to perfection and there is not one thing we don't love. For about $32 dollars you can get Havana Bites, it is a taste of some of their great items. It comes with Beef & Chicken Empanadas, Papas Rellenas, Platanos Fritos and Yuca Frita all served with Rico Sauce, which is so great. All of their empanadas are great and you can get just one or a bunch. We often get some to take home. The Papas Rellenas is so good and so nicely priced. It is two mashed potato balls stuffed with Cuban picadillo, then breaded and fried to perfection. I love potatoes so I love to get this. We also take these home. They heat up so well. The service is great and they are very friendly. Parking is easy and there is not usually a wait. I am not sure if they take reservations, so call them and check. The place is comfortable and pretty.

First time here as part of a car club run in the area. Cuban cuisine is a top choice on my list of dining experiences. I ordered the Mar Y Tierra which is Rabo Encendido and shrimp served with rice, black beans, and plantains. The Rabo Encendido was actually quite spicy with a pronounced chile kick. (I am used to the dish being more on the savory side rather than spicy.) This was definitely a "tail on fire" experience. The oxtails were tender and plentiful in regard to portion size. There was a good mix of oxtail sizes. As the portion size was generous, there was plenty enough for three meals. Shrimp had a crisp, snappy texture which came with careful preparation in an alkaline solution. This was a good shrimp enhancement. There was an ample portion of shrimp in the dish as well. The black beans had a good flavor but the accompanying steamed white rice could have used a bit of seasoning to overcome the inherent blandness. Plantains were ripe and cooked tender with a caramelization on the edges. Mar Y Tierra was pricey at $49 but the generous portion size of the meal made it a good value. The restaurant itself was comfortable and understated in its decor. The outside patio is larger than the interior dining area. It was nice to dine outdoors in the patio. Service was good with friendly staff. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. Parking is plentiful in the lot.

Baracoa Cuban Restaurant was an amazing discovery when we stopped for a lunch pitstop on our drive up towards Tehachapi. I can easily see them being a favorite in the Palmdale area. There was plenty of parking in this lot. The entrance is located through their patio, which can be a bit counter intuitive. We came at opening and the restaurant got really busy during our time there. Initially we were looking at the sandwiches because it was lunch time, but then we were going to a wedding that night so we decided to eat something more filling since the ceremony and speeches always delay the eating. All entrees here are served with black beans and rice or congri, and 3 fried plantains. My boyfriend had the Ropa Vieja ($28) with the congri and I had the Lechon Asado ($25) with the rice and beans. Our food came out pretty fast after we ordered. My boyfriend's Ropa Vieja is a Cuban braised beef. The congri is basically a mix of the rice and beans. This dish was super tasty and the shredded beef was so tender with the bell peppers and onions. I can really taste the red wine and tomato sauce in the base. I took a few bites but in general I preferred my dish more, and vis versa he enjoyed his dish more. My lechon asado is a roasted pork that is super super tenderrrrrr. It was so sweet with the grilled onions and it had the perfect amount of fattiness without being over bearing. SO GOOD! Love the plaintains too. I'm glad I got the rice and beans option because I would have gotten too full too quick with the congri. I barely touched my beans and only got through half of my rice. Both dishes came with this super tasty garlic butter sauce that I poured on my rice and made it even tastier. It was so good. One thing I didn't enjoy about the experience was the flies attacking us and our food. Since the door is open and connected to their outdoor space, it leaves the opportunities for flies to come in. We had to play defense with the flies the whole time. The service here is a little slow. Especially when I was trying to get back on the road I wasn't feeling too patient. I waived down multiple staff members too. Also I got hit with an undisclosed 3% surcharge for using my credit card. I only found out after I got the receipt. I would have paid in cash if I knew. *dislike* LOVE LOVE LOVE the food. Might be the best Cuban food I've ever had... and I've been to Florida where there was a lot of Cuban spots. Room for improvement with service, flies prevention, and the disclosure of the credit card fee.

First time here. First I want to call out that Juan our server was excellent. Very attentive, great smile, made the lunch and first time here a super pleasant one. I ordered the chicken salad with a side of rice. The mango dressing was a big hit, just a bit too spicy for me. Others in my party ended up ordering for their food :) Rest of our order: Shrimp ceviche with plantain chips. Delicious!!! Spicy and very fresh. The steak sandwich with fries. Tender meat, soft bread, cooked perfectly. Fried plantains, perfectly sweetened, so good! I don't live in the area, just visiting family but when I'm back out here again, I'll be back to try the snapper! Plenty of parking, reasonable prices for their salads and sandwiches. Outdoor seating, with fans and a beautiful breeze.

Had dinner here recently with friends as I had been wanting to try it a while. It was crowded inside and we were turned away by the young door guy who said they did not have room for us, the evening of our visit. We were about to leave when I inquired about sitting outside on the patio, it was a little cool and windy with no one there. The young guy was not helpful and did not want to accommodate our party? An older gentleman stepped in offered to seat us and got the heaters going and we sat outside with heaters on each corner of our table, once we sat down so did another couple and we adjusted the heaters to encompass them as well. Another waiter came out to take care of the six of us, along with the older man who brought us menus. The food is very good, we started with a variety of appetizers. The Ceviche was very good and freshly prepared with pickled onions, arugula and avocado. A nice portion, enough to share. With the chips its a good start, lots of fresh chopped seafood. For my main course, I went for the Red Snapper, a beautiful presentation and delicious. All in all a very good meal. Once we got past the young guy at the door, it was a decent dining experience. My party of four, we dropped over $300 on dinner before a tip, that this eatery would have missed on had we allowed that boy to discourage us from eating there? It was pretty obvious he did not want to serve us. 4 Stars a good choice for a meal but would have been a 5 star review had it not been for the young inexperienced door guy... his misjudgement was a major flaw to me and hence the one star drop 01177

Solid 4.5 stars. The Oxtail stew is delicious like my mom's with less tomato flavor. I usually order at dinner when it's more tender. Stopped by for lunch and had to work to remove the meat from the bones. I order it with the dirty rice one time too. The plantains are the best. Service is very good and friendly. Ambience is nice and their outdoor patio adds addtl seating options.

Had a Networking Event on the Patio of The Baracoa Restaurant and the Environment, The Food, and The Service were ALL EXCELLENT!!! The Patio with the ceiling fans and green floral areas made for the Perfect Setting! There was also a separate seating area with cushions where participants could sit and network! I will DEFINITELY be using the Restaurant again for another event as well as for my own lunch or dinner in the future! As a Retired Educator, I give this WHOLE Experience provided by this restaurant, and it's servers and management, an A+++. !!!

I came here for lunch and sat outside on the patio. We ordered the ceviche del caribe & yuca frita to start. The ceviche was fresh and had a little kick. The yuca fritas are fried yucca root- nicely crispy & delicious garlic-lime mojo sauce. The Cubano Sandwich has slow roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard & mayo. In Palmdale you will find a great Cuban restaurant Baracoa Cuban, with many favorite dishes like Ropa Vieja, many cuban sandwiches, tostones and so on. The restaurant is tucked on the side of a the main plaza, on the back site, it has outdoor covered seating with many seating options, the ceiling has great lighting and fans, the indoor seating is very classy with a bar top and many top shelf liquor options. The food was amazing, we had the Baracoa Cubano with rosemary fries. The pork had a lot of flavor, the sandwich bread was soft and filled with an ample serving of pork. Our favorite dish was the Pollo Encendido, grilled chicken that was slow braised in a "spicy" creole sauce with onions and bell peppers, it is also served with a mound of white rice, black beans, pickled red onion slices and a few fried plantains. Wow, what a great dish, lots of flavor plenty of protein, this is the type of dish that leads you to want to come back. The dish is not spicy, I requested a spicer salsa, the staff was very accommodating. I am really looking forward to trying a variety of many other dishes on the menu. The Drinks, I would highly recommend the following, the Berry Mojito is prepared with muddled mint, lime, a house made berry syrup, with dragon berry bacardi topped with lime soda, the next drink was not only refreshing but had a solid amount of alcohol starting with the havana sunset with matusalem rum, cointreau orange liqueur, and the final drink was my favorite the rum Old Fashion, with a top shelf whiskey. They did a great job preparing the drinks that complimented the meals well. The setting is very chill, the staff are very welcoming and the food is top notch, I would recommend if you are looking for a very authentic Cuban food restaurant that you do not miss the opportunity to stop by, I know we will be back.

Absolutely the best guest hospitality and food quality my family and I have ever experienced eating out. The atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant is always lovely, fun, and lively. The food quality is spectacular! I always get the Baracoa Cubano sandwich and it never disappoints. The ingredients are fresh and organic with each dish I've ordered. Since I have allergies to ingredients used to preserve frozen food, it's always been so hard finding a restaurant with a menu that doesn't cause me issues--and Baracoa has never compromised with their ingredients! The organic quality of their food is something you'll taste on your first bite. And finally--the service is impeccable and I have yet to see such excellent hospitality at any restaurant I've visited, even in Los Angeles! The waiters are always kind, attentive, and energetic with their behavior and service. It's very easy to tell they love the work they do and it shows in their work ethic. In addition to that, the managers are always making sure we're having an excellent night and have transformed it to a level of service we've never seen! My parents and I went a week ago and talked to Daniel the Manager about how much we missed a Piña Colada from a closed restaurant which would make it in the pineapple itself--and he said if we promised to be there in a week he's make it himself. We came on Friday, and the joy that my family felt was palpable when Daniel came out with the drinks we've wished for years now since that restaurant closed! Honestly, I've never heard of someone caring for their guests so much to do that--truly everyone should visit this establishment and experience true fine dining. I don't think I'll ever eat anywhere else for a special occasion ever again.

This review is long overdue! We brought my mother-in-law here for Mother's Day, and it was our first time visiting. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. The ceviche was especially amazing so flavorful and fresh! Most importantly, my mother-in-law was so happy, which made the experience even more special. We live in Los Angeles, so finding a great restaurant near Lancaster wasn't easy, but this place exceeded all of our expectations. The food was a 10/10, and the service was an easy 20/10! Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We can't wait for another excuse to visit my mother-in-law so we can come back and eat here again. Highly recommended!

I'm giving a good review for a few reasons. This place presents nice. It's got lots of wine, modern decorations and the spot is convenient. The service is pleasant and efficient. Easy going and accommodating. They are nice and service is fast. Menu is short and simple. More emphasis on wine but the food choices are great. Empanadas pork chicken all the cuban beans and rice how you want it. There's enough options to get you interested. I don't like a huge menu in places, it leaves me wondering about how they keep ingredients around. Presentation of the food was careful and deliberate. I like when they prepare the food like they care. It shows here. I tried the sangria and it was excellent. Not too sweet and no overpowering alcohol taste. If you like cuban and a relaxed atmosphere then check it out! You won't be disappointed. Prices are low for the service and food options. Spend around 15 bucks a entree and 9 bucks for a appetizer. Great food but why so pricey? 16-17 for a cuban sandwich is overpriced in my opinion. I would order here way more often if they sold the sandwich for 10 bucks--probably would get it on a regular basis. Got their Bocadito appetizer for $26.75 as well. And overall it was delicious but here are some things. First, way overpriced. Second, the yucateca fries were old and dry. Probably refried. Their papas rellenas were my favorite-freshly fried and delicious. The chicken empanada wasn't very good but the beef empanada was better and had the same filling as the papas rellenas. Overall nice place. But I have gone to way nicer restaurants at the fraction of the cost with more quality food. read more

This place never disappoints. I travel here for work from time to time and always make it a point to have at least one meal or two. The Empanadas are a great appetizer and the Ropa Vieja is always tender. The plantains are sweet and delicious, remind me of how my mother makes them. You must try it if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed. Dining is open on the inside but they also have outdoor seating. read more

I'm not sure how Baracoa can receive anything less than a 5 Star rating. Everything about Baracoa is amazing. From Tony (the owner) to the food. I was stressed out earlier this year planning Valentines Day for a large group. Little sis I know God steppes eight in and everything was just fine. Everyone at the church is still talking. The majority of us orders the Tour De Cuba which is more then enough for 2 people with a side of empanadas. I definitely recommend this place for a first date or a church function. I dropped in for a quick lunch before I headed home from a short business trip in the Antelope Valley. I had looked at the nice Yelp reviews and thought that now is the time to give Baracoa a try. So glad to say, that I was very pleased. I was greeted as I entered the door and seated shortly after. The dining room was warm and welcoming, with additional bar seating just in front of the neon cafecita sign. Pleasant Cuban music filled the room to set the atmosphere. I ordered the Baracoa Cubano sandwich with mojo fries. Within 10 minutes, I was served the sandwich which was artfully places on a warm plate with piping hot mojo fries. I must say that the sandwich was delicious! From the diagonally sliced Cuban bread, to the perfectly cooked onions and bacon, to the wonderfully seasoned pork - I could not ask for more. I hope to return soon to try other sandwiches but really want to try the delectable entrees that sound so good! You must give Baracoa a try - it is such a wonderful escape from fast food!!! read more

Mother's Day Brunch, service was AWFUL, we had a reservation and were seated immediately. The waitress offered us a specialty drink that she created, however she has difficulty explaining it. We order the drinks with water, drinks arrive no water. Three to four times she says I'm sorry, I'll be right back to take your order. So finally we are able to place our order, still no water. Food arrives, entree first then we have to reminder that we ordered appetizers. Now we have food and no silverware, she brings three sets for a table of four. Another reminder that we need silverware and still waiting, finally I walk to the bar and get it myself, "I'm sorry" at this point I'm starting to believe you! Water please, again she says I'll be right back with your water, you could have brought with you then. I still willing to over look all of this when she comes to the table and ask us to leave because the table is reserved for some waiting, they must have been invisible. Several tables open, my husband said no problem if you will bring my credit card back. We ordered Flan to go, she gave one and said I'll be back with other one. She returned with someone else's order. So we wait for her to acknowledge us to correct yet another error. I was trying hard to overlook this calamity of service but my absolute final straw is they gave us one fresh slice of Flan and a old stale slice that they cut the edge off. Small and comfortable, with a great waitstaff. Choosing to sit at the bar, we shared the Empanada de Pollo appetizer, which was what I've known to be a true empanada; flaky crust with a well proportioned amount of sweet/savory filling. Really delicious. I had the Rabo Alcaparrado (Oxtail), it's tender meat simply falling off the bone, and in an intense sauce; deep, smoky and rich. All the while I ate, I was growing sadder knowing I was going to get full, and this wonderful experience would have to eventually come to an end. The upside is that my leftovers are in my fridge waiting for me. My co-diner had the Camaron a la Criolla that, too, was well prepared and in an intense sauce, and quite - but not overwhelmingly so - spicy. Just enough to pleasurably alight my mouth. I only got one bite, as that was all my friend cared to surrender. In spite of eating as much as I could, we each ordered flan, a decision that I was questioning, but what the heck, based on our meal so far, the chances were pretty good that it might be outstanding, as well. Guess what? The flan was as outstanding and, as full as we both were, both plates were practically licked clean. I paired my flan with a demitasse of café Cubano which was much stronger and with a deeper flavor than a shot of espresso and the corner coffee house. We went on a Saturday evening and there was a live jazz duo that simply added to the pleasure of the evening. After our dishes were cleared and the check proffered, our server made sure to let us know that we were welcome to sit, relax and listen to music for as long as we wished. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for an authentic and delicious experience of Cuban cuisine. read more

Drove cross country from the east coast and finally arrived on 3/26/23. Before even getting home we decided to go out of our way for great cuban food which would thought we could enjoy here... sadly no. I actually come from the service industry, and by far was the absolute worst I have ever had anywhere. We arrived around 7:20, we were greeted at the door and told to sit anywhere. We decided to sit in the center of the place, at a table. 3 female workers were going to various tables and moved all around us, looked at us, but never even brought us a water or acknowledged us, once we were sat. Craziest part was they would look at us from afar, but not a single one came, or asked if we were taken care of. I even looked over at one point and one girl was stood behind the bar sipping and munching on food laughing... Although hangry we tried being as patient as possible. After about 10 minutes 2 seperate tables of couples walked in, one sat RIGHT NEXT TO US. So we figured okay, we see some staff is busy but surely we'll be given a MENU before them?? Nope, the worker behind the bar passed right by us and went right over with waters to the other couple next to us and told them menus will be right over. I sat there stunned and quite literally asked my boyfriend if we were invisible? I waited to see if maybe she would drop off some for us on her way walking by us and no. We got her attention after she tried walking by us again and asked for menus. She apologized and got us some. A different girl walks over about 15 minutes later to finally take our order and claimed water was coming (but never came). After another 10-15 minutes or so and not a single water or cocktail on the table, we just walked out. All that time to be straight up ignored and not even get a water for over 30 minutes of waiting is just plain stupid. Restaurants run as a ship. I don't care if our server was busy, 3 servers were working and not a single one decided to take initiative and do their job. Worst worst worst experience by far. Not a chance you'll ever see us back. Shame. read more

Came in for lunch on a Sunday based on a great review from my MIL. The space is small, and they were out of several items from a busy Friday and Saturday night which told me two things: 1) Call ahead or come early if you are having a night out on the weekend. 2) They are new enough that they have some bugs to work out which makes it a bit easier to forgive not having popular menu options at the end of a weekend. To begin they bring out complimentary garlic toast that is similar to bruschetta, but with a garlic olive oil on top instead of a tomato mix. Delicious if you love garlic (we do!). We tried the shrimp guacamole which was alright, but very heavy with chunks of tomato. Personal preference with guacamole is I like it to be heavier with avocado, but not everyone may share that taste. Also interesting was the use of plantain chips to dip in the guacamole which was a nice compliment. Almost tasted like a sweeter, crunchier ruffle chip, and while they were smaller they were still strong enough to hold the dip. For our entrees we tried the lechon (pork) bowl and the cubano on a sweet roll. Both were delicious. The lechon bowl was absolutely stellar! The pork was some of the juiciest, most tender we have ever had. The cubano had a great crunch and on top of the ham had more of that amazing shredded pork. The only downside was I had the sweet roll (they were out of the regular roll) which made the sandwich extremely rich. Having the combination of the melted cheese, ham and sweet roll, while delicious, I could only get through half of the sandwich before it would start to sit really heavy. On the plus side I brought it home and it reheated well. Overall we would gladly come back to try it, but will probably come on an evening during the week until I hear that their weekends have gotten under control or they move to a larger space. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant and u always feel like wow everything I eat here. Mario who cookes out food is a great chef. Everything is fresh and hot just the way I like it. This place is such a hidden jem! We came on a Friday for drinks and a meal, and we were pleased to see that they had entertainment. The atmosphere is perfect and intimate small groups; we loved the bar set-up. This is perfect for a ladies night out dinner or a date! The food was delicious. Baracoa is a warm full-service Cuban restaurant with a full bar and beautiful outdoor patio. Baracoa was established in 2013 by first generation Cuban-Americans Tony Castro, Rick De La Rosa, and Danny Castro, and has won AV's Best Restaurant Awards in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Meet the Business Owner: Tony C.

Tony Castro is the business Owner and General Manager. He loves people and strives to show it to his employees and customers through his business. Tony was born in Los Angeles, CA and is first generation American with a Cuban heritage. He loves Cuban food because he grew up with his mother's delicious home Cuban cooking. His family moved to Palmdale when he was 9 years of age in 1989. Because of the prominence of aerospace in Palmdale, he was inspired to fly high. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 2000 and served for 4 years. After finishing his enlistment he got a job with Boeing and earned a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He loves business and enjoys seeing people having a great time. He also enjoys basketball, wakeboarding, snowboarding, exploring nature, and traveling. He now works for Northrop Grumman and runs the restaurant.

I thought that was a little odd because I've always known salads like that to come already tossed or prepared with the dressing. When I questioned it, she acted like I was the weird one for asking. Throughout the meal, the service continued to feel rushed and impersonal. Even the person who brought out our food basically just dropped it on the table and walked away. The food was good, but when you're going out for a nice dinner--especially on a date--you expect the service and overall experience to match. Unfortunately, that just wasn't the case for us last night.

My fiancée and I ended up at Baracoa under unexpected circumstances. We had just gotten engaged a few days earlier but had to make an emergency trip to the area because of a family situation. We still wanted to find a place where we could celebrate such a special milestone together, and Baracoa was the only restaurant that looked like it would match the atmosphere we were looking for. Looking back, I honestly couldn't have chosen a better place. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and celebrated. A huge thank you to everyone working that evening for making our engagement feel so special. Special shoutout to Herbie! He was the saxophonist that did the live performance for the evening. He was so talented and really made that night as special as it could have possibly been! Thank you Herbie! I also have to give a special shoutout to Cristina, our waiter, who gave us one of the best dining experience we could have ever asked for! Great service is about more than taking an order, and Cristina understood that perfectly. This is a place I have been meaning to try for several months - very pleased that I finally decided to stop by! We walked in on a Saturday around 4pm and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and were asked where we wanted to sit because the dining room was empty. We chose a cozy seat in the corner and were offered drinks and appetizers. I wasn't turned off that the dining room was empty because I knew this place was geared towards the night crowd being a lounge type atmosphere - I was just excited to try the food. We ordered the shrimp guacamole appetizer and it was to die for. Our entrees were delicious and seemingly authentic. The cubano sandwhich and the steak, rice and beans entree was very tasty and everything was cooked perfectly. The only thing I found a bit odd was the loud club style dance music playing from the stereo - I don't mind this type of music late at night but during the slow, lunch hours of the day, it would be nice to have softer music playing to allow the customers to have a more relaxing time. Other than that, I have no complaints at all. The staff was very kind, attentive and attractive! My boyfriend and I love to try new places to eat and will certainly be back to try some of the wine cocktails and other entrees. Pulled up to Baracoa Cuban Restaurant for my cousin's birthday and let me just say off top, the customer service is on point. The staff was super friendly and the whole vibe felt welcoming. The spot is a little cozy inside but they've got patio seating too and the ambiance overall is fire. Started off with the chicken and beef empanadas. The chicken was cool, solid 6 out of 10, nothing crazy but it held its own. The beef empanada though? Whole different story. Flavorful, got a little kick to it, way more depth. Solid 9 out of 10. Then I tried the ceviche and maaaan... that mango sweetness took it to another level. Fresh, bold, and something I could legit eat all day. 10 out of 10, no debate. For my main, I had the crispy beef (I forgot the name but it literally says crispy beef on the menu) with rice and beans mixed. One word: flavor. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the red sauce on the rice just elevated it even more. Be warned, the red and green hot sauces got heat, but if you like spice, they hit just right. Easy 10 out of 10. Overall, Baracoa gave us an amazing experience. I'll definitely be back. read more

When the dishes finally arrived, they were served at room temperature and lacked the warmth and flavor expected from a Cuban culinary establishment. There were also service-related issues that persisted throughout our meal. We had to retrieve utensils from another table because they were not provided for us, which detracted from the dining ambiance and highlighted a lapse in the restaurant's attention to detail. Furthermore, the wait for appetizers was prolonged for over an hour, and we had to wait for 45 minutes for a simple water refill which was frustrating. Lastly, upon receiving our bill, our party's receipt was completely wrong. There were extra items, not ordered nor received, added onto the bill. My wife and I wanted to try this place for a while. We decided to make this place one of the last places we made our date night before leaving palmdale ca to move to vegas. I was suprisingly shocked because i did not know what to expect, i didnt look at any of the reviews of this place.. I have just seen it a bunch of times driving by on 10th st. west, and always put it in the back of my mind to stop in once and try it. I am disappointed to say that I wish i had discovered this place sooner! We made it on a friday night right before a band was about to play and it seemed like the kind of cute little place that you need reservations for. The host mentioned that there was room at the bar and we could sit there if we wanted to.. SO that is what we did. I was really pleased with the service. The food was amazing, GET THE CUBAN SANDWHICH IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY. and the band was also quite enjoyable to listen to. I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went yesterday around 12-1 pm on the day off. Noe I have been meaning to go for a while but just haven't had the chance. I ordered the lechon asado. It was presented well, and very tasty. The waitress was by her self, longer hair, glasses, very friendly and helpful, about 5'3, didn't catch her name, but was very attentive. Not to mention she was alone on her shift taking care of a good amount of people... and being in the restaurant industry I would be very proud to have her a part of my team, that is how well she handled the situation. Cooks prepared everything very well and won me over. I believe I will be returning for some lunch time cubanos very soon. Price is decent, considering you pay $10+ for a cardboard burger these days... it was about $20 For a well put together meal that I can actually enjoy, food, and the experience that came with it. Used to be a go to restaurant for my family until the owner got a cocktail from my partner at his place of work, ordered something he knew he didn't like then proceeded to tell my partner to "go jump off a bridge" just because he didn't like his cocktail... Absolutely atrocious behavior. Highly recommended if you're going to go out and be a raging Jerk and awful customer maybe don't advertise the restaurant you own! Will be telling everyone I know not to eat here, you don't deserve business from genuinely kind people. I love supporting different businesses especially here in the AV but I absolutely HATE supporting terrible people even more. Please seak help. That is no way to speak to another human being. I can't say enough about Baracoa Cuban Restaurant in Palmdale--it's absolutely amazing! Hands down the best Cuban food I've ever had, and I've been to Miami! The flavors and authenticity here blew me away. We started with the fried mashed potato appetizer, which was out of this world, perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor. The ceviche was fresh and beautifully prepared, way beyond my expectations. And the pork--juicy, tender, and so flavorful, it's easily the best I've had. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was fantastic. The team at Baracoa really knows how to make you feel like you're part of the family. Needless to say I have been back many times ever since. Even better was the fact they offer catering! Had a big event at my place of business and Baracoa hands down delivered one of the most amazing catering setups/presentations I have ever seen! Superb appetizers including empanadas, papa rellenas, platanitos fritos and yuca frita. They offer a broad selection of Cuban delights both pleasing to taste and to the eyes. What an amazing place. Came in for lunch with my buddy and everything was delicious. We started with the papa rellenas which were delicioso especially the sauce that comes with it, I could eat that sauce all day. For our meals I had the ropa vieja bowl and my buddy had the lechon bowl. Great portions and excellent food. Props to the Chefs. Our server kayleen did a fantastic job as well. Been there 4 times with the family and will continue to go. Food is right on comparable to any authentic cuban restaurant in L.A. or San Fernando Area. No need to drive down any more. Place is small but staff is friendly. They thanked us when we left. One time was Jazz playing. It was loud but still still relaxing.
