I came here for my bridal hair and makeup after other not so great experiences with other salons already, she was listed on my photographers page so I thought she would be legit. After she completed my hair, which wasn't really what I had discussed, I advised her I didn't want a messy bun, more cleaner look, and apparently since I have brunette hair, she didn't even want to look at the blond hairstyles I pulled. I get that it's blonde and it's not going to look the same, but I wanted that simple style. What I got was a messy bun to one side, and she was tiring after that as well, I could tell. So when she started in makeup, oh my word... my 5 year old nephew, could have drawn a better eye liner line than she did. Which she told me she would do much better the day of... well isn't this what a trial is for? To make me look like I will day of?? I have health issues, which I explained to her. I didn't expect the end result, my fiancé had plans to go out that evening, but ended up cancelling because of how terrible I looked. Well, I tried to cancel. And oh boy, get slapped with a $500 bill for cancelling before 3 months prior to the wedding. It's almost a month and a half out, but I'm telling everyone she isn't worth the price I paid for that trial, let alone the $500 to cancel this. I have not seen this kind of contract with any location that I have dealt with and I will no longer be looking for this service after this experience. As a bride being charged a fee that's hidden in a contract, paying this woman for the day of service when she didn't do or listen to her client. No bride should ever experience what I have gone through and this woman should be utterly ashamed. Just like the last place I scolded for working my ass off to get a hold of them... no one is worth the time or money that I have experienced yet and this was so shocking, it's ripped my trust from all my vendors. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! I already have so much to pay out for this and that on top of a cancellation fee, it's ridiculous... and this is clearly the only thing keeping her in business. No I do not recommend her and I will also be discussing this with my photographer about removing her from her site. Again, not a bridal service at all.

I'm kind of a hard to person to deal with when it comes to getting lashes as I'm a blinker and I tend to fidget when I have to close my eyes for too long. Joelle was very patient and calming and didn't make me feel bad for my excessive blinking. I absolutely loved my natural looking lashes and have received numerous compliments. Heads up - the street parking is super limited so get there early.

Their "answering service" who she was quick to snap at me "is only one girl", was very sweet. She had let me know before my appointment in West Seattle they had problems with their online booking, and it had apparently duplicated my account. She called me back and left a message (very sweetly) saying she "had taken a chance" and booked me in for this Thursday, because she didn't want someone to take it. I called her back and told her I had no confirmation of that appointment (usually their system sends an email), and to cancel it. I then booked an appointment online for Friday, putting in the notes I use sensitive glue. I call again the next day asking her to confirm that my Thursday appointment is cancelled. No response. I call again that night asking her to call me and confirm that she's cancelled the appointment, no response. So then I drive an hour south and arrive early to my appointment, in great spirits, and this chick (Joelle) starts ripping my head off, telling me she cane in yesterday and I was a no show, talking to me as if we're friends and she's yelling at me. Um, no. This is a professional service and in no professional atmosphere is that ever appropriate. I should have just told her to stick it where the sun don't shine and left, but I just drove all that way. So she continues to lecture me while I'm in the chair!! Wth?? Really? So then I'm almost afraid to mention and confirm sensitive glue, but I do. She then proceeds to go off on this!! She stops and checks her notes and tells me they didn't use sensitive glue in Renton, and basically I'm a liar. This is after accusing me of basically not telling the truth about canceling my Thursday appointment that I'll remind you, I never made. She then accusingly asks me why I got a volume mix fill. I respond that I think that's what I have. She goes off on me again. "You have silk lashes! Those are classic!! You're giving me all this misinformation!!" She says she got this from the notes on my file. If you see it in the notes, why would you ask me, except to accuse me more and find another way to lash out at me?!? Seriously lady, wth?? So she asks me what happens with regular glue, i say my eyes burn. She talks to me condescendingly and says "Honey, that's normal." Then goes on about her being in Vegas, etc. So we decide to proceed. Then literally 5m later she informs me she's been "texting with Amber. Amber says she never used sensitive glue on you." So now that's the third time she's basically accused me of being a liar. Wow. "Yes she did." I respond. "At least she said she did." So either Amber is lying or she's forgot, but the fact that she's texting Amber instead of working on me is ridiculous, during my appointment. So then she stops and says I "should go see Amber " for my lashes, and she's not going to work on me further or charge me. Gee, thanks. She then goes on to tell me how she's going to "talk to her boss about this." Which is ambiguous. No apology, nothing. I leave. My appointment was 1:30pm. I checked my phone leaving at it was 1:39pm. Two hour drive to get yelled at and lectured by this chick. Nope. I call their number and not surprisingly, no answer. I ask them to have their boss call me to discuss this. No phone call. Worst customer service ever.

She said she could not do that, the system "wasn't set up that way" and I just had to pay and then see the receipt afterwards. I paid, then sure enough saw she added a $50 "consultation fee" just to buy product. It would be another thing if a consultation took place or even the fee disclosed; but for me to come and spend over $1,500 on product then have have a $50 surcharge snuck in for the "privilege" of shopping there is simply deceptive. Go to Penelope Beauty Bar at the Fairmont to buy the same BR products for the same price, and not feel like you're being taken for a ride. I know the economic environment is understandably causing hardship. I am more than happy to continue to support local business, just be up front about your fees instead of playing coy with hidden charges. Edit: They followed up and refunded the fee, saying it was charged in error. I appreciated the gesture.
