Cute spot! Parking can be a little tight, but not terrible. There's two kiosks you can order from and I was in the mood for a pistachio latte. Appreciate there was no additional charge for an alternative milk (went with almond). The latte wasn't too bad - would've love some actual pistachios for texture, but that's just a preference. I like a strong coffee and they got that covered! I did see they had a matcha garden from a while back on when scrolling through the reviews so will have to remember that for the next visit. There was also an Oreo pudding they were giving away! read more

I LOVE this cafe! The staff is awesome, the coffee is good, and the profits go to the masjid! ALSO, they are open late during Ramadan, for those late night qiyams. The inside is aesthetic, and they have some comfy couches where you can hang out. They also sell some books and Islamic items as well as candy. Their hours do change, so make sure you check their social media or Yelp page before you head here. I've found the Yelp to be pretty accurate with updates. When they first opened, I wasn't too crazy about the coffee, but lately it has been on point every single time. So, if you only tried them when they first opened, please give them another chance. This place keeps coming up in my searches but I never made it out - it was finally time! PARKING: The thing to note about this place is it's located within ISOC so may be tricky to navigate at first. But if you turn onto 13th street, that's where the entrance to the parking lot is. It might be a bit tight depending on the time of day - it was fairly busy when I got there on a weekday afternoon. But after you park, it'll be easy to find the cafe. Look for the signs that say coffee! WHAT I ORDERED: Iced teddy graham latte with cold cream THE COFFEE: This was amazing! The espresso tasted great, and the honey flavor was perfectly subtle in a way that complimented the drink well. I didn't care too much for the cold foam honestly; I don't think it was think and rich enough to add too much to the drink. But overall this was a pretty solid latte. SERVICE: The latte came out fast, and surprisingly so given how packed it was. VIBES: This is definitely a nice place to catch up with friends, especially with all the comfy seating. Again, though, noting that it was a bit packed when I got there, so I imagine depends on the time. Still, I was able to get a good amount of work done - here's my checklist for work-from-coffee-shop places: * OUTLETS: Yes * WIFI/INTERNET: Yes * VOLUME: A bit loud with children/families when I was there, but not sure how it is at other times * SEATING AVAILABILITY: Relatively small cafe, so there's not a ton but I was able to find a seat * BATHROOMS: Yes, around the corner from the shop * LAPTOP FRIENDLINESS: No restrictions on laptops BOTTOM LINE: I would definitely come back, especially since the proceeds go back to the community and I need to try the other yummy looking drinks! read more

I come here a lot and the coffee options are pretty good. They also have chai tea. You can add all sorts of flavors. The cardamom is good. Can't go wrong with vanilla. They have pastries as well as candies and a fridge of drinks. There are a few couches to sit in and they also sell a lot of clothing and merch for the mosque. SUPER packed in Ramadan. As somebody who takes their coffee seriously I've enjoyed every aspect of Barakah Cafe. From the beans they use to the flavors they offer, everything here is a 10. The staff goes the extra mile to ensure that the space is clean and that customers are comfortable. I first ran into Barakah during the month of Ramadan last year. In the most sacred month of the year this spot ensures you're dialed in for prayer. All and all this is a spot worth checking out. I came in here because the concept is so cool! It's right in the mosque where everyone prays and not only is the atmosphere great but everyone who works here is amazing. Highly impressed with Barakah Cafe!! I ordered a matcha with vanilla sweetener and it was SO good!! Sometimes vanilla sweeteners taste fake but this one was special. When ordering their matcha you have a ton of different options to change the flavor profile of the drink such as rose, vanilla, cinnamon, etc. I loved that their matcha was nice and strong. Often I hit up a new coffee shop the matcha is weak. But you know the match is good when it's dark green. The coffee shop is located at at the Islamic Society or Orange County. You will see signs in the parking lot for the coffee shop. Fun fact: the location that Barakah cafe is in used to be the women's prayer hall when I was growing up. As they expanded it turned into the "book store" aka the snack store. And now it's a really dope coffee shop open to the public, not just the Muslim community. Really awesome to see the evolution. Parking: 10/10. Very spacious and there are multiple signs to guide you towards the coffee shop! Drink: 10/10. We got the iced vanilla date latte with oat milk (no extra charge) and vanilla cold foam (+$1). The drinks were delicious and fragrant. Cannot wait to try the other latte flavors. Ambiance: 10/10. The location is tucked inside a secluded neighborhood. We took a quick tour around the community while waiting for our coffee and it's one of the coolest mosque we've encountered. We are so fortunate to have this available in OC. We've been to so many coffee shops around OC and this is definitely one of our favorite spots in terms of location, ambiance and price of drinks. I saw this new coffee spot in the area and wanted to give it a try. It's located within the mosque of the Islamic Society of Orange County. There is a parking lot and also neighborhood street parking. The interior had a nice Tulum theme to it. There is ample seating both inside and outside. The service is quick and the employees are welcoming. The employees EB and Long were super helpful in helping me choose my drink. I ended up trying their summer special drink called the Kaleidoscope. The Kaleidoscope drink was a sweet and fruity iced matcha latte with strawberry syrup, sweet foam, and topped with fruity pebbles. The flavor definitely reminded me of fruity pebbles cereal milk, very tasty! Keep in mind that it's on the sweeter side. The drink was very flavorful, milky, and creamy. I'm excited to come back and try their other drinks! read more

I initially didn't have the highest expectations of the coffee as it was a small cafe in a mosque but the quality of the coffee and the matcha actually surprised me. They also have fresh delicious pastries a few days in the week. The service was top notch, especially the batista Sana, Maha and Sereen. My beef sandwich got a little soggy as we didn't get to eat them right away, soaking up the juice/grease from the meat and toppings but the flavor was drool worthy. We will absolutely be back.

Ok what the heck. I saw signs off Brookhurst for coffee and thought it was the corner plaza but no. It's in the neighborhood IN the Muslim school. Very random for a coffee shop. Turn into the parking lot(there's one entrance and another exit) The entrance is on 13th street, not Kerry(exit) Park in there(there's a bunch of security guards who can help you) and follow signs for the coffee shop. They don't have too much of a selection but I kind of prefer that. Order on the tablet and they'll make it for you. There's 2-3 tables with a couple chairs if you wanted to do some reading or work, but I did feel a tad out of place. The girls seem friendly, though. La Vida Mocha(did not look like the picture) but the taste was great. Unique! read more

I like that they have hojicha options, in addition to matcha, coco, and coffee. I tried my wife's pistachio hojicha latte and that was really nice. Personally, I would have toned down the sweetness. I'm glad they give the options of 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% sweet. $6.50-7 is a really reasonable price for drinks that are as complex as what you get here. I'll be back to try some of the other interesting drinks they have.
