No idea why this place has 3 stars, because it is affordable, delicious, and the customer service is great. The staff provided bread for my toddler son while we waited for our 2 sandwiches. I waited for my fiance to get home, so we could eat them together, and the bread was still crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I got a vegetable one (if you want extra anything, there is a small charge) and it was soooo good. The secret sauce is awesome. Parking is easy! The inside is kind of dark and chaotic, with tons of photos all across the walls.

Great food here! The bahn mi sandwiches were made with quality items. Service was friendly and efficient. The place is a cozy warm cafe style restaurant. Apparently started by a famous Vietnamese singing star.

The place has been here for ages and everything looks the same as beginning (same small changes) so everything going here, flashback of the 90s-00s, of the good oldies days. Got both inside and outside seating area and quite nice setup too. Funky decor but with great vibe. Service is nice and friendly, something can be slow but majority are wonderful. They have plenty of dishes choices but was here for sandwich, which still the same as before so very consistently and not bad at all. Meat portion is quite generous and tasty too. Overall consistency and friendly service with decent prices.

Our NorCal cousin heard about this place from a friend in Maui. I got the Lynda Special sandwich and a Blended Ice Milk Coffee. The bread was excellent, and it was made to my specifications (no onions, light on the jalapeno). I always enjoy Cafe Sua Da. Hubby ordered the Beef Stew Plate. Given the choice of noodles or baguette, he wisely chose the baguette. Great for sopping up the stew broth. Very flavorful, with fresh basil leaves. We also bought a bag of caramel cookies. Nice and crunchy. The place is small, but there is outdoor seating as well. Lots of parking is the shopping center.

Big shoutout to the documentary "New Wave" by Elizabeth Ai which covers the history of Vietnamese New Wave. In addition to cover the 80s grooves and fashion, the film highlighted a period of generational and cultural divide within families and neighborhoods. It was one of the few screenings at the LA Asian Pacific Film Festival that left an impression. Many icons from that era were interviewed in the film, including Lynda Trang Dai who is the namesake of this sandwich shop. Some were dining al fresco in the blistering sunshine while the majority of the patrons dined in the cool AC. The interior of the shop was playing loungey light music, with one wall covered in portraits of New Wave stars and another with orange wallpaper with past icons in film and music. Both inside and out had plants and flowers that add to the cozy atmosphere. I got the Lynda Special which by paying with card was a little over $8. Flavorful and toasty buns, there was a good variety of cold cuts, shredded chicken, cucumbers, pickled veggies, and the special sauce. The shredded chicken was ok, while the sauce itself was creamy and well seasoned. While I still have other favorites for banh mi, this place does their sandwiches justice enough to stop by next time.

*** 3% surcharge on using credit cards *** Lynda Sandwich is opened by 90's star Lynda Trang Dai aka the Vietnamese Madonna and the Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi) shop was featured in 2024 documentary 'New Wave'. The sandwich shop was empty when I came here at 6 PM on Sunday. [Parking]: Easy parking as the shop shares the same large plaza as Shun Fat Westminster Superstore. [Atmosphere]: Unique interior decor with a wall of celebrity pictures. [Menu]: According to an NPR article ( https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/2015/10/31/453152297/how-vietnam-s-version-of-madonna-became-a-california-sandwich-maven ), the owner is the only one who prepares the special Lynda Sauce. The top two popular orders are Lynda Special Sandwich and beignet. Beignet comes with three flavors - original, caramel, and cinnamon. *** Beignet (original - $6): I didn't know about three different flavors for beignet and the cashier didn't bother explaining the menu so I assume these beignet I got were original flavor. To my surprise, these small bites were quite good and had more than enough portion for one person to finish! Crispy exterior and not overwhelming sweet. I actually like this dessert better than banh mi. Grilled Shredded Chicken Sandwich (Lynda homemade sauce and some vegetables including cucumber, Vietnamese pickles, jalapenos, onion, and cilantro - $7.50): Nothing special and tasted pretty mediocre. *** While I dig the overall vibe of this sandwich shop and beignet, it was hard to get excited about banh mi. Come for ambiance but lower expectation on banh mi.

Heard great things about Lynda's. Shop was super cute with abundant decor. I got the đặc biệt/ house special. It was solid! I was surprised because mine had some fried onions. The sauce was good and the bread was very good. Next time I'll get extra pate cuz it was a little dry. Came out to a little over $8.

I loved everything I got!! I got the nem nuong spring roll and it had THICK pieces of pork and I loved the crunch from the rolled up crispy egg roll wrapper. The orange sauce paired perfectly with it. I absolutely love their home made mayo as well. I was throughly enjoying every single bite I would totally come here again.

I finally made it here after hearing about it for years. I didn't want to go with a basic sandwich, I mean, this is Lynda's restaurant after all. So I ordered the fried egg and sausage sandwich. First, let's talk about the bread. It's toasted. It's got that light springiness that only comes with fresh bread. The bread is crispy with a soft center. It won't leave your mouth bleeding like the bread at Lee's. The garlic mayo is amazing with the fried egg. I may have screwed myself over by ordering this sandwich because, as they say, once you go fried egg you ain't go back. No, no one really says that but me. Yeah, I'll never be able to order any other sandwich. The decor is very nice and friendly. I'd love to sit around if I have time. Service is very professional and friendly. I'll try the desserts on my next visit. Beignet looks amazing!

We saw this spot on a documentary called New Wave Documentary where Lynda was one of the main stars and her restaurant Lynda Sandwich was highlighted so we decided to stop by when we were in the area! The restaurant is quirky and loungey with different styles of seating set around. Gives that coffee shop vibes. There's a wall adorned with old photos of Lynda throughout her singing career. We ordered the the Lynda Special ($7.25) which is her dac biet banh mi. It is a skinny baguette as well which I don't mind because it's easier to eat while on the go. It was a unique take on 'dac biet' with some cold meat, some shredded meat, and pickled radish, jalapenos, and some cucumbers. I do which they had more plentiful fillings but it was still a good amount. The star of the sandwich was the special mayo they use. It was delicious and brought the whole sandwich together. I basically forgot there wasn't pate in there because that mayo was so delicious.

I am obsessed with this place. Their banh mi's are delicious. I think my favorite banh mi's that I've ever had. They are also the perfect size so not too big or too small. I tell everyone about this place because it's so good!!!

    Dida N.

A friend recommended Lynda Sandwich, so I stopped by to try their Banh Mi Ga. While the service was unfriendly and the wait was longer than expected, the banh mi itself was fine. The interior is fun and filled with beautiful art. It's a nice spot for a quick bite!

Once I return to the states, I was always on the lookout for authentic French food which I became a keenly aware pretty quickly is a rare find even in Southern California. I was relieved to stumble upon bouillon in Newport Beach. The name alone says it all and seeing a boulangerie around the corner quickly won my heart. Walking into bouillon felt like walking into cafe in Paris. From the signage, chairs and iron tables I was quickly transported back. Reviewing the menu, I quickly knew I was in the right spot and giggled with excitement. I ordered all my favorite straight away; escargot, steak tartare with frites (you must add the egg yolk!), lyonnaise salad (on the menu it's listed as Salade Frisée aux lardon, lyonnaise is a regional name but I know the ingredients), a bottle of Sancerre, soufflé and two espresso. The meal was fantastic, so elegant, refined but made with simple ingredients you can taste. The service was leisurely and impeccable, the waitress was so knowledgeable and welcoming. Most people in the OC are more familiar with the chain bakery Moulin which serves French quick fair but the star of the show is certainly bouillon. They have a fabulous menu for those that missing truly authentic or for folks interested to try new French meals . Great selection of wines from different French regions that are affordable (in France is not about the price tag but more on the region it grew from). Stop by for a quick bite or stay for the long French lunch / dinner. Bon appétit, et vive la gastronomie!

The lady who helped me - dark hair, really overly colorful eye makeup, and tattoos - processed the transaction but handed me the card without a receipt. When I asked for one, she spent a moment at the screen and then told me she couldn't print it because she had already closed out my tab. I was confused why 1) she didn't give me a receipt in the first place, then 2) she decided that was the only solution - to tell me it could not be done. After I asked her to find a solution as I needed a copy of the receipt, she finally asked her colleague beside her, who pointed her to the right place, and, voila, the receipt was printed. Leading with "I can't" is never the right customer service instinct, especially for something as basic as a receipt. I also tried to buy the butter they import from France. I stood at the case for several minutes with no acknowledgment. I finally walked over to the nearest employee (her name was Lucy) who was finishing up with a customer at the register right next to the butter section. I politely asked if she could help me when she was free. She looked at me, nodded, and said she would. Then proceeded to assist every customer who lined up behind that original customer without once glancing back in my direction. In fact, I had enough time to walk to the bakery, go through the entire gift card situation as mentioned above, and return to the butter section, and Lucy still hadn't looked over. I left without the butter. Moulin used to have fantastic service. I don't know where those regulars went, but two strikes in one visit, with two different employees, is hard to brush off.

Our server was very warm and helpful. For two of us we ordered one heavier dish and 3 on the lighter side and I actually left pretty stuffed. The menu is always evolving so I'd love to return, but for this visit we started with the bread and ham butter. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the ham butter imparted so much flavor. My favorite item that we ordered was the Galician Octopus. The thin slices were perfectly executed and the flavors underneath packed a punch. I would pass on the Gambas al Ajillo. While the shrimp were large, I found myself wishing that they had some char. The Summer Squash Salad was a perfect complement to the other dishes. I found the squash ribbons to be unique, the dressing to be light and fresh, and the inclusion of small bits of cheese to impart just the right amount of saltiness to the dish. Because we were celebrating my birthday, they gave us a complimentary slice of the basque cheesecake with a candle in it. Typically I'm not a big fan of this type of cheesecake, but theirs was wonderful and we ate the whole thing. Dinner is a multi-course tasting experience that begins around 5 PM and carries you through the evening you'll likely be there until 10 PM or later. There's a wine cellar, curated pairings, and an atmosphere that feels intimate, elevated, and deeply intentional. This place is clearly designed for guests with an elevated palate and a true appreciation for the culinary arts and thoughtfully sourced, curated dishes. For just my husband and me, we spent a little over $600 for the evening, and I can honestly say every single dollar was worth it. If you're someone who loves food, storytelling through cuisine, and unforgettable dining experiences, this is a must. You're able to interact with the chefs, the staff is incredibly hospitable and professional, and the entire experience feels warm yet refined. I truly cannot rave enough about this restaurant. I came here for my wedding anniversary, which is very special to me and I have a relatively young child and they were still able to accommodate this alone to me meant the world and for them to be able to accommodate to a small child was incredibly amazing. This is hands-down one of the top dining experiences in Orange County, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will absolutely be returning every year, guaranteed.

Came here with my family for a special celebration over the weekend. We booked our reservation…read moremonths in advance after hearing how difficult it is to get one. Overall, it was a fun experience, and I'm glad we finally had the chance to try it! The Good: Our server was outstanding. Friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout the entire meal, they made each course enjoyable and really elevated the experience with great hospitality. The Food: Some dishes were excellent, while others were just okay. The filet mignon was a great cut of meat in general, but mine arrived closer to blue/rare despite ordering it medium rare. It wasn't a huge issue, and it was still enjoyable. Overall, nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out compared to other fine dining restaurants I've visited. Considering the price, I also found the portion sizes a bit underwhelming. 3/5 The Meh: The cocktail reception area gets very crowded before dinner. There's only one small bar, so drinks can take a while. The bread and appetizers were served family style, with guests grabbing items by hand, which wasn't my favorite. We were in a private dining room, but the space still felt cramped. For couples or smaller parties looking for a more intimate fine dining experience, the atmosphere may feel a bit too crowded. Heads Up: -There is a cancellation fee for reservations. -Free parking is available in the lot. There is no valet service. -An 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Overall, I'm happy we experienced it at least once. The service was the highlight of the evening, while the food and atmosphere didn't quite live up to the expectations that come with the price and the difficulty of getting a reservation.

The new owners (new to me, they've been here for years) were charming and the food was outstanding. I can't resist smoked salmon so I had to try the smoked salmon waffle. The mountain of smoked salmon was tossed in some sort of dill cream sauce and placed upon a savory waffle. It was a match made in heaven and I truly loved it. I also had a delightful cappuccino with it. I am really glad I rediscovered this place and cannot wait to return!

We ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, it had a great taste and the chipotle aioli drizzle gave it a nice kick. I ordered the Wine Tasting Flight and was surprised by the deliciously personalized wine variations. I really enjoyed all 3 as they also paired well with my dinner. Dinner consisted of the Pasta Bolognaise and Chocolate Mousse, both delicious. I personally recommend these. Thank you again Sacha, we appreciate your warm and personalized attention! Will be back to try the Gourmet Le Burger and pair it with one of your draft beers Until then, Cheers!
