Went in on a week day for the promoted AYCE special . I explained to them that I would like the $29 AYCE promoted lunch special I was sat promptly and handed a menu. The food took a little while but came out hot and tasted fresh . I enjoyed a cocktail while I waited . I didn't really order much cause I wasn't that hungry and they charge a whopping 15.99 per lb for wasted food . When I got the check I was super upset to see they charged me the full $69 dollar price when I challenged it they said oh the lunch special doesn't include crab legs but no where on the menu specified that any the waitress didn't explain that to me . ONE crab leg cluster wasn't work 69 dollars plus tax and tip. I felt like they lied about the price and definitely sneak the bill on you with out explaining so be mindful of that . I'm not sure if I wound return even though the food was decent . If you decided to pop in just make sure to be mindful of this . Happy eating

Good quality seafood for sure . Jumbo shrimp and all Great lived its cheap drinks as well. Service is great they try to get you in and out. But definitely not a spot to be eating all the time at the sauces could get greasy and close to pushing you towards a heart attack. But every so often it's great .

The Monster Crab has been on my list for a while as I seen it on TikTok. Food: the food is great. I was here for the all you can eat $60 and it did not fail. The crab legs, scallops, corn, egg, pasta, fried wings, and the lobster roll my goodness is so taste and great portion. The house blend sauce is IT!!! Oh how can I forgot the drinks were strong and gooooddd! Service. The service was amazing, very attentive and provided great customer service. There's a lot of staff who is consistently ensure you are okay which I love! Ambiance: I came to the bayside New York location and it was very spacious and clean. It's perfect for small or large groups. Love the full length bar with seating. My overall score is 4.9/5.0

We didn't make reservations, but there's plenty of seating inside so it isn't necessary. There were a lot of birthday celebrations going on here especially since the birthday person eats for free if you have 5 people with you. They play this loud obnoxious music everything. There's no time limit so we did get our money's worth. They charge 18% tip no matter the size of your group. Some of their seafood wasn't as fresh as we would've liked it to be. However, my friend had a MaiTai cocktail which is either $1 or $3 depending on the day of the week and she said it tasted good. We liked the soup, the cooked abalone, the noodles, and the fried oysters.

I have been wanting to try this place for a very long time now since they opened. It is actually a very big space with plenty of seating. It has a nautical decor with dim lighting. I, of course, had to order their fried pickles and a lychee martini. The order of fried pickles was quite large and had the perfect crunch. The martini was good, not great but good. As my entree, I ordered 1/4 pound of shrimp, 1/2 pound of crab legs, 1/4 pound of mussels, and boiled egg in mild house blend. I really liked the house blend since it was slightly spicy, had great seasoning but also had a taste of garlic and butter. All the seafood was fresh and filling; I even had enough to take home and eat the next day. We paid a little over $200 for 3 drinks, 3 entrees and 2 appetizers (tip and tax included) I thought the prices were fair and I will probably be coming back soon since I really enjoyed it.

I haven't been here in awhile, I was in the area so I decided to stop by for happy hour. It wasn't crowded I walked in was greeted and seated right away. Sat at the bar ordered a margarita 2 orders of fried oysters and wings. The food is aways hot and tastes good. The drinks never watered down. Good service and a nice atmosphere.

Not the best experience this visit (lunch AYCE). The two fried fish we ordered were both very fishy, we notified a waitress but she didn't seem to care too much, just said so you don't want it? The crab legs were already small but the cluster just keeps getting smaller (additional $5 each cluster).

Recuperating from a recent surgery, my wife wanted to cheer me up so she brought me to this restaurant. The place where they are situated has a huge parking lot, so no problem there. When we went in, the staff gave us a warm welcome, the place was packed with costumers noticeably enjoying their meals. While inside, the aroma of boiled/fried seafood was very enticing and irresistible. The atmosphere is considered good, casual, with clean facilities and a comfortable, friendly space. The staff is friendly and attentive, he was kind enough to explain what they are offering and the menu. He is efficient to make sure timely delivery of orders, checks on us once in a while to see if we needed anything else. I enjoyed their meals freshness and quality of their seafood. Our ordered food was served while it is still hot. Their seafood boil was seasoned adequately and has a satisfactory flavor. Prices are fair and reasonable. My wife and I had fun and took delight in our meal and our food experience.

I ordered a salad with ranch dressing. Received Italian dressing. When I told the server that it was supposed to be ranch dressing, I was brought a little cup of ranch to dump on what I already had. I should have cut my losses and left then

Went to The Monster Crab for dinner on Friday. It's located in The Bay Terrace Shopping Center so there's plenty of parking. It's a typical looking seafood boil restaurant, with fishing gear and nets adorning the walls. We went for the all you can eat option for $59.99, which allows you to order anything off the menu basically. Most of the appetizers are fried seafood, they were all pretty good. The lobster rolls were served cold. The best part is the seafood boil bags. The Dungeness and snow crab legs were cooked well so they were easy to peel. Food comes out very quickly too. Second rounds of orders seem to be smaller than first rounds. I tried the Cajun sauce as well as their house blend. Both were good but the house blend was significantly tastier. I would definitely return if i were in the mood for seafood.

They have an AYCE special $59.99 for dinner and $1 drinks (3 per person), the drinks were strong and the food was plentiful! The snow crab, scallops and shrimp were good, the sauce was okay, but it was missing something, maybe salt? Skip the lobster roll, it was dry, rubbery, with no butter or sauce of any kind. The fried fish was, well just fried fish. Definitely can get your monies worth if you have the appetite! I didn't feel rushed, but the servers were attentive to maybe a fault? It felt like we were being watched constantly, other than that they were very nice! Ambiance is dark, plenty of space between you and other diners, would definitely recommend if you're in the mood for some seafood!

Ask the Community - The Monster Crab

My daughter (12yrs old) doesn't eat seafood, can I order Al a Carte for for her and AYCE for everyone else? Also is the lunch menu available on Saturdays

When you do AYCE, it has to be everyone at the table. You can ask them, but they may not allow it. If your child is under 4.5 feet tall, they eat for half price so it will probably be cheaper than ordering al la carte even if you are only ordering…

Is lunch AYCE available on weekends as well?

    Yes

For the free birthday meal, is the birthday person included in a party of 4 or needs minimum of 5? Does it have to be on the actual birthday or 1-2 days before and after? Thanks!

    Minimum 5 , 4 paid adult buffet.

Does everyone at the table need to be acye or some can be a la cart?

Only if its a birthday party of 5 or more

    Takes reservation or walk in?

We walked in but I think they also take reservation.

The real star of the night was Joyce behind the bar. She's the kind of bartender who instantly makes you feel welcome, like you've been a regular for years even if it's your first visit. She knows her drinks, makes amazing recommendations, and somehow keeps the energy fun and relaxed even when the bar gets busy. You can tell she genuinely cares about people having a good experience, and that kind of service is rare. Her gin and tonic was perfectly balanced -- crisp, refreshing, and honestly one of the best I've had. And the green tea shots? Dangerous in the best way possible. Smooth, flavorful, and way too easy to keep ordering because they go down so well. Joyce makes them with consistency and a little extra flair that makes the whole experience feel special. Food-wise, I highly recommend the pork dumplings -- flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the ideal pairing with drinks. Everything just worked together: great food, great drinks, and even better hospitality. Joyce truly elevates the entire atmosphere at Firefly, turning a normal night out into something memorable. Our server was very pleasant and happened to be the only one working at the time, though with so few guests, it seemed to be all that was needed. We ordered the three-course lunch special. One set included the meatballs to start, followed by the chicken Parmesan and bomboloni for dessert. The other included a Caesar salad, tagliatelle Bolognese, and tiramisu. There was a bit of a longer-than-expected gap between the appetizer and the entrée, especially considering we were essentially the only table being served, as the other guests had already finished their meal. That was a little frustrating. Aside from that, most of the food was solid. The only real disappointment was the chicken Parmesan, which was quite overcooked. It was unfortunate given that the kitchen was only cooking for the two of us. That said, the mashed potatoes, an unusual pairing with chicken Parmesan were excellent: perfectly creamy and incredibly smooth. The tiramisu was also quite good, but the real standout was the bomboloni. I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed them, since fried doughnuts wouldn't normally be my first choice for dessert. I would definitely return.
