Mazzy Brow Bar is a very cute place. It is clean and peaceful in there and always smells good! The first time I went, Samira did my eyebrows and they came out perfectly! She took the time to hear what I wanted and then delivered. Unfortunately, the second time I went a different lady did my eyebrows and I walked away extremely disappointed. While she was super nice and friendly and made sure I was comfortable, my eyebrows did not come out clean and they did not come out even. They were also very red. She seemed new and not super familiar or comfortable with threading yet. Having paid 21 dollars for the service, I was very upset. Iam very picky when it comes to my eyebrows, I've always gone to the same girl to get them waxed, but unfortunately she left the country :-(. So I went on a hunt to find another place. I'm very happy I ran into this place. I had a 4pm appt and as soon as I walked in she took me in, and asked me a couple questions and proceeded to thread my bushy eyebrows. The pain was moderate, but I'm guessing it was because I waited awhile and they had grown out quite a bit. It only took her about 10 minutes and she put a mirror in front of me, and I loved them.. I'm incredibly picky when it comes to who I trust with my eyebrows. Most places I go to, I wind up leaving with way too much taken off or misshapen eyebrows. Samira was cautious to not take off too much without me even bringing it up. I left with the size and shape that I wanted with no hassle. She was also very sweet to me, I had an appointment right before they closed (it was supposed to be at 5:40, but I wound up getting there at 5:25 and was helped right away) and she didn't rush through the process at all, which I appreciated. MAKE SURE TO BRING CASH FOR TIP!! I felt so bad (even though she insisted that it was fine), I had no cash on me and wasn't able to leave her a tip since they don't accept any on card. :-( A+ for being the first place that I've gone to where I didn't feel the need to fix or fill in my eyebrows afterwards! read more

I discovered Sam a few months ago when I moved to San Mateo and an honestly sooooo glad I did! I used to drive a long ways to get my eyebrows waxed by the one person I trusted but it started getting so inconvenient and I didn't love how I broke out with wax. Sam makes threading as painless as possible and wipes my face with sanitizer to help prevent breakouts. She's so good I don't even need to instruct her, she just knows how I like my brows and does them perfectly each time! She's polite and friendly and has the cutest little shop. Mazzy's is a great place! I had always gotten my eyebrows waxed and was always okay with the results. I was recommended to Mazzy's and I can honestly say it was a great experience. It was my first time trying threading and yes, it is a little painful but she was very skilled and had patience for me. I am a baby when it comes to pain and for me to say I would do it again is a lot. I can say this is the first time that I feel that I am happy with my shape! Again, she was very nice, and sensed my nervousness but took it very slow and told me what she was doing with each step. Sam knows eyebrows! I am very picky when it comes to my brows. It should be symmetric and I love to keep my eyebrows thick. She knows how to thread. She is prompt with replies and always takes me in with last minutes requests. She's fast, efficient, and has an eye. I almost always bring my two toddlers with me. Despite them sitting in my lap at times and shaking the chair, she still can maintain perfection! Wow! Very sweet, very honest, and decently priced! Can't put a price on your face! A+! I honestly love Sam, she has been doing my eyebrows for a couple years now and it has honestly been the best place I have ever been to. My eyebrows always look super clean and perfect. Her work speaks for itself. She's gentle, kind, and sweet. I enjoy that she typically always takes me in even if I don't have an appointment. And In fact I usually get them waxed..BUT I was waiting on my Fiancé who was getting a haircut across the street & decide to give this place a try. I have been going here for a while. I love the ladies here. They are quick, clear about how long it will take (if you need to wait). I almost always make an appointment because it's busy. I think $20 is fair since it's an art and I know well rent is expensive. Also, I like that I am not worried about wax. It does hurt and yet...I like the outcome. This place actually gets zero stars, usually I go to Rb's in Burlingame, and I should never have tried somewhere else! When I called to make my appointment for 11 am on a Saturday, the girl was rude and gave me the impression of a bratty teenager. Should have realized then. The following day I show up at 11 on the dot to find a closed sign in the window. I wait 5 minutes, look in the window, and see a girl on the couch, who looks up at me in surprise. I wait for her to come open the door, but 5 minutes later I am still waiting. I finally just left, absolutely shocked at how unprofessional this business is. read more

I go around the peninsula to try out different brow bars. This is by far the worst one. Why? 1. I came in the morning and the salon was empty. The lady said that she "was busy" and doesn't take walk ins. I still wanted to see if they do a good job, so I scheduled an appointment. 2. I came back the next day and it was a different lady. She was surprised to see me arrive, but still did my brows. 3. My brows were still ugly after the appointment. Its just not my spot. Thank you though! read more

Also, I booked a haircut online for a Saturday, it was "confirmed" via email, but when I arrived, they told me their stylist doesn't come on Saturday. Then why did they confirm it?! I'm very particular on where I get my hair cut, but was in need to get one. So i decided to stop by for a quick cut. I called in was able to get a appointment same day which most places can't! As I arrived parking was hard to find (maybe just my luck) but it was very easy place to find. Walking in the staff was very friendly and was quick to seat me. Mazzy is the cutest brow bar I have ever been to. Although I didn't get any threading done (this time!), I did get a hair extension put in. They have a really good selection of various extensions and feathers, and it's a super quick process! I absolutely love it and it's perfect for anyone who wants to try something new without doing anything permanent. The service was amazing, and the owner was extremely friendly! I decided to give Mazzy a try because of all the other raving reviews but oh my goodness I am bathing in regret. I walked into her empty shop early afternoon and asked is she had any availability that day (not expecting her to do my brows immediately). She said she has an appointment coming in but she could fit me in. The entire process took about 5 mins and it was the most painful threading experience ever. I think she broke some skin because my eyebrow was sore for days afterward and that has never happened before. Most importantly, my eyebrows were so uneven they aren't even related anymore. One end of the eyebrow was thicker than the other. One had an arch and the other didn't. 20 bucks is a steep price to pay for someone to mess up my eyebrows. Safe to say I will never go back. read more

Mazzy's Brow Bar does solid work. Their MUA really knows what she's doing. She knows every style, every color palette, and they match color schemes based on the dress you wear, really well. They also do hair, and this is where they REALLY shine. To me, there's nowhere else in this area that does work this well at these prices. Speaking of prices, try finding another place that will do your eyebrows for $14. The only complaint I have is that they're booked all week, so reservations are sometimes difficult. I've gotten lucky with walk-ins a couple times though. Overall, pretty good work! read more

This review is well overdue . This is by far the best place to get you eyebrows done . I have been coming here for over a year now and love this place and would never think of going anywhere else . Every time I do my eyebrows I am always happy , the look well groomed and have a nice shape . As for all the reviews that say it's painful, yes it is a little painful but does not compare to the pain of waxing . Threading is much more safer and a better alternative than waxing . To wrap it up, as you can tell I'm a huge fan of Mazzys and I recommended everyone. Try it . They are really friendly and will help you achieve the eyebrows you want !! read more

Mazzy Brow Bar can be better. The are always talking and another language. Is a young girl with long, long hair when a walk inside a say Hi to her, and her answer was hi with a unfriendly welcome! Is one girl with blue eyes she is so friendly, I believe she is the owner of the place. Because always she talk nice to people and welcome you with a nice smile. And doing a lot of things at one. This place is amazing!!!! I have tried many brow threading place but every time my skin was red and itchy from a couple days to a week! I didn't know the name of the girl who provide me the service but she did a excellent job! She didn't even put any toner or lotion before or after threading and my skin was only red for like an hour afterward( which is normal for sensitive skin)!!!!
