Anastassia is the best! She is the only person that I will pay to do my eyebrows. I used to see her a lot during Covid when I lived close now I live far away but whenever I'm in town, I come see her. She's an artist and she's so fun to talk to she's a master at her craft. Shout out to Audrey for being so helpful and accommodating! I've been to other Benefit BrowBars before but went to this one for the first time since it was nearby. I easily scheduled an appointment online. However, I got hit with some traffic so I ended up being late to my appointment. Audrey was super helpful and offered to reschedule in an hour. Since this is in the mall and I wasn't in a rush, this worked just fine for me. I shopped around the mall while I waited. I'll admit, it feels a little weird to get your eyebrows done while people walk by but not a big deal. Audrey worked quickly and did a great job on my brows. No pain. Great shape and she filled in with makeup as well. It was a bonus that she also perfectly matched my skin tone with a concealer. I was sold and bought the concealer too! read more

This location is inside Macy's; you can enter through the main mall or you can enter through Macy's. While I do not wear make up myself, I do utilize this location for eyebrow waxing. To make an appointment, go online or you can do a walk in, if there is availability. The times that I have had a service have been with Anastasia. Anastasia provides excellent waxing that is precise and pain-free. She has always been on time for all appointments and is very professional. REAL EYEBROW GAME GETTING STRONG(ER)!!! I let my brows go!!! I see friends/strangers making eye contact and them eyeBROW contact during conversation. Excuse the mess... Went on the "eyebrow challenge" and Been growing out my eye brows for 8-9 months in hopes of fuller, thicker, and more arch because plunking them to thin lines resembling a sad face wasn't cute. You can imagine my brows have been uneven, patchy, and strange looking and after trying to comb the hairs into place it was time for a wax. I've had them filled where they didn't look very natural. Finally... I'm ready to clean it up. Did a drop in and had a Yani session. I explained to her the growing out and what I want them to eventually look like. We all love to swipe our plastic, but if that's how you roll, bring cash for a tip. If not, you end up loading a gift card for Yani, which is cool, but it's not cash. Ok, now let's get down to business. I prefer to be in a committed, monogamous relationship with my brow girl. I don't like to play the field, sneak around on dates or any of that business. I want my brows to look perfect, knowing they never will. That being said, when my brow gf isn't getting the job done, I need to move on and that's what happened here. Found my girl Yani on Yelp and had never been here before, but was in need of a change so I gave it a shot. It's way different than what I'm used to. Typical brow job is behind closed doors and you get to lay down and relax without anyone watching. Not the case here, which took a while to get used to. It's at the mall so I basically sat in a chair and ladies shopping were passing by as I was getting waxed up. I don't like it one bit, but I don't make the rules, I just play by them. Yani and I had a convo about what I wanted done before she started. Then we had another convo once she did one brow and made sure I was satisfied. Then, we had another convo at the end once she finished and that's the kinda communication necessary for a successful relationship. I got my brows done with my coworker. My coworker was 30 minutes late, so they gave her appointment away (understandable) but they kept on telling her come back in 10 minutes, come back in 10 minutes, come back in 15 minutes. My coworkers appointment got pushed back over an hour. But, this review is not based on that, I just wanted to make a note of it =] I had Sonia do my brows. This was my first brow wax and I did not know what to expect. She was efficient, quick, and precise. She cleaned up my brows and turned my balding, little, shapeless eyebrows into well-defined arches. She also filled them in and covered up the redness. I liked my eyebrows, but they were arched a little too high, so my coworkers told me that I looked a little mad. I'm kind of used to it now, but I would like to make the arch lower, I just don't know how -_-. But overall, Sonia gave definition to my eyebrows and she did a pretty good job. =] read more

Love benefit products. Dear John Moisturizer: A+ - I have really dry skin and this product does the trick without breaking me out. Firmology Serum: B , got a free sample. Seems to minimize pores when mixed with liquid foundation. But not as much effect under mineral foundation. Depuff Eye Gel: B-, didn't really see much difference. I'm just going to put out there that Angie is wonderful and she does a great job with the wax. The reason why I'm only giving a one star review though is because of how absolutely AWFUL their positioning of drop in times is. I came in at 4:45PM or so and asked to see if I can be seen for a drop in. I was told that there's one other person ahead of me and to be around the area for when they call my name so I can be seen. "If I'm not there to respond to my name being called, I'll be crossed off". Sure, makes absolute sense and I totally agree. I was walking around browsing and ended up having a seat and waited. It's currently 5:42PM and I just got to my car and didn't even get my wax done. APPARENTLY, the wax person I was waiting for went on break. She has another appointment at 5:40-5:50PM or something, THEN she would take the person ahead of me, THEN I would be next. No one told me she had another appointment! No one said she has a break due! You can at least tell me all this information so I don't sit there idly for 40 minutes for nothing. They literally wanted me to be in that small area for over an hour just to get a wax done? Seriously? This is so frustrating and absolutely ridiculous. Sorry Angie, love your work but this frustration just isn't worth it. read more

I love coming here! I used to get my eyebrows done at a nail salon and it really ruined my eyebrows. I ended up going here because it was convenient. The first time I came in, I was assigned Anastassia and she was amazing! I've been coming for about a year and my brows are amazing now! They're finally nice and full because Anastassia was able to help me grow them out. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to get their eyebrows done. Yay - finally Benefit Brow Bar comes to the Peninsula! I heart my regular brow waxer in SF, and still think she's the best in the biz (check out Nail Care for You if you're headed that way), but I no longer can count on the bi-monthly treks into the city just for eyebrows. Yes, I know about Bombshell in San Mateo - but her hours are lame for people who work regular hours (sorry Christina) and getting a same day appointment is impossible (I'm not the type to plan eyebrow waxes weeks in advance). So when I learned that Benefit Brow Bars have opened up at both the Ulta in Bridgepointe, and here at the Macy's in Hillsdale Mall, I rejoiced. I've given the one inside Ulta a shot, and while the waxing was good, you don't get the makeup treatment that normal Benefit Brow Bars offer. I think it's because the one at Ulta is not actually done by a Benefit trained waxer, but just a regular aesthetician. Since the waxing is $20 at both locations, I'm going to the one that offers me more freebies! At the Hillsdale location, they will typically give you TWO makeup services - one prior to the waxing, where they let you try on some of their new goodies; and then one after the waxing, where they hide your redness and fill in your brows. It's great! 4 stars simply because I always have to pluck some strays when I get home. A great option for those like me who hate having to make appointments - walk-ins are readily accepted! read more

I came in as a drop in for a brow wax at 6:30, at 6:45 the girl that told me to wait a few minutes tells me they can't take me today because the esthetician has to clock out at 7 and won't have enough time. I really fell in love with Benefit over 4 years ago and have always been using their products -- love the brow zings, benetint, moon beam, etc. Their salespeople always did an exemplary job in selling Benefit products because they know the products well and have a pretty good overall attitude. However, on one of my recent visits to pick up the brow zings they had on back order, this young and tall blond saleslady in a really loud red blouse was quite rude. I felt like she was doing everyone a favor by even being there. I got the feeling that she didn't work at Benefit but was covering for someone else who didn't show up. I guess that would be the #1 reason to take it out on a customer? Love that attitude! Let me be honest, for someone who didn't work at the counter, she sure knew here way around and also knew all product names. Anyways, I'm a little disappointed because of this experience at this Benefit location. I still like their products but I feel reluctant contributing part of my paycheck for the services of such an ill trained salesperson. read more

I love this Christina as I wait for her namesake to give me an appointment at bombshell. I live a few minutes from the mall and my eyebrows looked like a bush and I needed to get them waxed before my guests arrived to a party I was throwing. I got an immediate walk in appointment. Our conversation with each other began with my reference to bomshell, where I mentioned that I have been growing my eyebrows to meet her namesake and Christina was gracious and all praise for the other Christina. She ran me through the paperwork quickly( a small disclaimer sheet about waxing only when you aren't getting your dermabrasion, chemical peels etc done, as it affects the sensitivity of the skin) Christine asked me how I liked my eyebrows, told me that she would retain the natural arch. Waxed it neatly especially as my eyebrows thin out towards the end and made sure she tweezed every problematic teeny hair and tinted my eyebrows neatly. A very good job done for a decent price- yes the store charges 20 and add your tip- you are looking @ 25 bucks.
