We had a very good experience with Dr. Yee. She is very thorough with the treatment and is always accessible. You can tell she really takes pride in her work. The only downside to her practice is that she doesn't have an onsite X-ray machine so you have to go to a separate company which costs additional money. Dr. Yee was referred for my son by our family dentist. Our dentist actually referred us to a couple different orthodontists but Dr. Yee was the only one who called me back. Not sure what happened to the others during Covid shelter-in-place. Dr. Yee is professional and efficient. She communicates openly and honestly, and responds to emails and phone calls in a very timely manner. She contacted our insurance company to find out what our coverage is, then she worked with us financially to come up with a payment plan that worked for us. She showed and explained to us in full detail the difference between braces and Invisalign - in length of wear, how to care for your teeth in both scenarios, the after care, and cost. She is very knowledgeable and guided us - especially my son - on our best option. I love how she spoke to my 12-year old son about what his responsibilities are with his orthodontic care. I was there listening, but she was purposely speaking and discussing with my son, the one who will be wearing the braces or Invisalign. Dr. Yee is caring and thoughtful. Dr. Barbara is amazing. She did an invisalign for me from January 2023. My former dentist referred me here. He said he couldn't do my teeth, as my case was challenging. She finished my treatment last week. I couldn't expect a better result than this. I am 50 and she made my teeth no gasp at all. My experience with Dr. Yee is great. Another orthodontist looked at my situation at an earlier time and concluded my teeth could not be corrected due to jaw bone conditions and age (50s). Dr. Yee made a plan to progress slowly, and the result came out great after almost 3 years of correction. She is a one person team, but does everything elegantly and patiently. Her price is transparent. During the original 2-year process, the progress was a little bit off the expected course, and she had to do a new mold and added more liners to slow down the process, but didn't add new charge. I saw her back when I was in high school to get my braces done, and although I was very anxious at the time about having braces and what the experience/journey would be like, Dr. Yee was always thorough and made sure the process was comfortable for me. Great ortho! We have two kids go through Dr. Yee and feel the direct contact with "doctor" not assistants was far worth our investment than other orthos who may have nicer offices, game stations and heavy marketing. We had our first son go through 1st phase with a very popular orthodontist on Bollinger Canyon. The kids loved his office because it was nicely decorated, they always had some gimmicky contest (mostly to generate referrals) and great service, but it felt like they were "moving" through as many patients as they could. Dr. Yee's office is your typical plain but very clean office and she is THE person that works on my kids and provides sufficient time to answer questions for both my sons and for us. Yeah she doesn't have a PS3 or Nintendo in the lobby, but we feel the quality of service is much better and we NEVER feel rushed like at the other office. We will always recommend. read more

She is a total rip off. First of all my son's lower retainer broken after only two months and she charged us $500 for a replacement but when you check online the average price should be between $300 and $600 for the pair of them. Also, I needed to get braces for myself and Barbara wanted to charge me $1700.00 more that both other quotes that I received, I asked her if we could comprimise and split the difference in half so that I could have the same orthodontist as my son and she would not budge, so I went elsewhere. As a "grown up" I dreaded getting braces. But needed them - not for cosmetics, but so I'd stop cracking teeth due to misalignment. My two daughters ages 14 and 16 yrs old are patients of Dr. Barbara Yee. They both had braces for about 27-29 months. And, just got their braces removed - they look GREAT! We never had any problems with Dr. Yee. She is always on-time, very caring and knowledgeable. The best thing about seeing Dr. Yee is that she is hands-on with the patients. There are no assistants working on you. You pay a lot of money at other ortho offices and only the assistant's work on you and the doctor just does a spot check. I'm not sure about this lady as a Dentist but in a normal environment, she is a very rude person! I was at the San Francisco Dental Convention and I sat down in an aisle seat and my bag next to me. They announced that we could log in for the class so I got up and was only gone maybe 1 minute. During that time Dr Yee put her stuff on my seat and left it. I came back to my seat noticing that someone's stuff was on my seat so I moved it. I'm sitting here waiting for the lecture to start and she came up to me and told me I was in her seat. I explained to her that my stuff was here, she continued arguing with me even though there were tons of other empty aisle seats. So I just got up and move across the aisle from her. Very very rude!! Dr. Barbara Yee was recommended by my dentist Ka-Sing Fung. My son needed braces so we went to check her out. I am glad we choose her even though it meant extra travel time to see her. She is a one-woman dream team. She does it all! She is the receptionist, the assistant, the orthodontist as well as making of the needed equipment instead of sending it out. Well, okay, she does get a little help from her adorable mother. She really cares about the patient and shows genuine interest. She was very encouraging with my son, and also took an interest in my family. She did her job well and took care of any problems that arose.
