I just walked out this office. I am 68 old, and had dental regular cleaning done every 6 months, and I did a deep cleaning last October. This is the first time I am going to this office, the young dentists told me that she can't do a regular cleaning because my dental conditions. I was in shock to hear this, there was nothing changed since my last deep cleaning except I am 6 months older. I never heard any dentists saying so before. Not sure if they have different standards from everyone else, or they don't know what they are doing? Just be careful to visit this office, check ahead before go, which is my mistake! read more

Not recommended. Dr. Wu did everything so quickly but it did not mean that his work or procedure would last . My crown fell out after 18 months and he still made me paid for a replacement. I felt like going to in n out restaurant everytime I had a teeth cleaning. He hardly communicated with his patients about X-ray results and teeth preventive care. I've been going to Dr. Eberle since I was a kid. I am now working and living in San Francisco, but I still make the trek back to San Ramon for dentist appointments because it is so worth it! Dr. Eberle has never pressured me to get any unnecessary dental work done. He and his team always work their hardest to make sure insurance is able to cover most of the cost. They are very transparent about costs before any work is done, so there are no surprises. Dr. Wu is amazing! If you are fearful of going to the dentist go to Dr Wu. I'm 58 and needed a tooth pulled. Never having as much as a cavity I was freaking out about getting this done. I was referred to Dr Mike Wu's office by an oral surgeon for abutments and crowns on my 3 implants, as the oral surgeon had good experience with him in the past. As it turns out, Dr Wu was not accepting new patients and their office turned me over to Dr. Saini who was a new 'partner' in his office. She referred me to another dentist as she did not want to invest in the tools or required abutments for one of my implants (different brand - Neoss) but was willing to work for only 2 of my crowns! This was unacceptable to me - I had to scramble to look for another dentist within Metlife and finally found a good one. Dr Wu's office was already paid by Metlife and the whole process of returning the $ to MetLife and finding another dentist took me 5-6 weeks. Very frustrating! She did, however, do well with a couple of my fillings (which is why she gets 2 stars) and for the practice's profitability reasons, she did the hygienist's work on my teeth (in 20 minutes what a regular hygienist would do in an hour). She apparently did not want to hire a hygienist. It was all about establishing her practice and profitability, without caring for the patient. read more

best dentist i have ever been to and he doesn't even bribe me with a huge box of free toys! i can definitely say that dr. eberle is the first dentist to never make me gag so hard i throw up onto my self and of course those bibs don't hold the stuff from getting on your shirt. i admit he can be a little quick and forceful at times but he sure knows how to get in there and get the job done safely and fast. i can even recall many times i'm in and out for an appointment in around 10 minutes.the office is equipped with a state of the art air abrasion unit that allows them to prepare teeth for white fillings without using anesthesia or drill, THANK YOU GOD! and with ultra sonic periodontal cleaning, and prophy jet polishing, which will brighten up your smile with quick and easy cleaning appointments i'm so on my way much faster. i can feel a little crappy at times as he can make me feel bad for not brushing or flossing more often but this is just how much he seems to care. read more

Eberle is as good as it gets! By far the best dentist I've ever been to, and I'm 67 yo and have been going to dentists since I was 6.7 yo. I've been going to him for over 20 years. So has my whole family. They all feel the same way. Dr. Eberle has re-made my whole mouth over at least twice. His staff is long term, too. Right there what does that tell you? I have a son in New York and he even considers Eberle his dentist. In and out. If the appt lasts more than 8 minutes it means that I have a major problem! What I really like is that he's not out to gouge me. He'll go to great lengths to save a tooth. If he sees big bucks coming he'll tell me what he's willing to try before I have to spend that. He's saved me a ton of dough. Plus he's got a great personality. And funny. And he likes me humor. What else could I ask for? read more

If you prefer not to get charged when you have dental insurance that should cover everything, this is not the place for you. It is a Dentist Office's responsibility to ensure 1) it accept's the patient's dental insurance and 2) to notify the patient before providing services about any problems. My husband and I each have dental coverage through our respective government employers and we searched to find a Dentist that accepted both. We found Dr. Wu listed as an approved provider for both insurance companies and called the office to confirm. We each booked a general cleaning. Dr. Wu was professional and did a respectable job and we were out in fifteen minutes (win!). A few weeks later, however, we received a bill for a portion of the services. This was odd as we had double coverage. I spent the next two weeks calling the office trying to figure out why we were charged. Finally, I was told that while the office did accept my husband's insurance, they only accepted "PPO" not "HMO" (apparently his was "HMO"). They suggested I contact the insurance company to sort this out. It is my understanding that all Dentist Offices' call insurance providers to confirm coverage before patient arrival, in order to notify a patient about potential problems before providing services and then charging. Makes sense, right? When I questioned the office administrator, she assured me they do call to confirm. The logical question to follow-up with was - why in the world didn't they tell us before (emphasis on "before") they worked on us that there was a problem with our insurance?? Her response: apparently we "fell through the cracks." Translation - they never bothered to call the insurance provider before we came. She again stated I should contact the insurance provider to work this out. I refused. I requested the office waive the bill - this was their mistake as, per her own admission, we "fell through the cracks." The administrator left to speak to her manager and upon her return curtly stated "we did the best we could under the circumstances." Translation - they never bothered to call the insurance provider before we came. I asked once again - did you call my insurance company to verify coverage ahead of time, per your own policy? She repeated "we did the best we could under the circumstances." I repeated my question. Angry and with considerable hostility, she responded "we have thousands of patients - it is just not possible to call for everyone." To summarize - they claimed we were covered, they never confirmed with the insurance company, they then hit us with a bill, and we are supposed to call the insurance company to work this out? Not a chance. I again requested they waive the bill due to their mistake. She did not acknowledge any error on their part, nor apologize for putting us in this position. She simply said - as a "one time courtesy" we will waive the bill. I will not return to this office. Any office that confirm's insurance acceptance, doesn't bother verifying, and then bills an unsuspecting patient and expects payment is tantamount to malpractice. Perhaps they need to reduce the number of patients they serve and concentrate on providing fair and quality service to the ones they have. I would advise any one looking for a new dentist to avoid this office, a potentially sizable bill despite insurance coverage, and a giant headache! read more

I started to look for a new dentist because I recently moved to SF, that being said - as I started to look at the list of providers I could work with I just couldn't help but feel sad. I've been with this office for over 20 years. They are the only dentist I've ever seen and are like family. They do amazing work, are honest!, great office staff and are always consistent in their work. Dr. Wu is a great dentist. He is in the same office as Dr. Eberle and he's every bit as good. When I chipped a tooth and needed a crown, Dr. Wu did a masterful job on preparing the tooth and fitting the crown. I can't say enough good things about him. I believe that Dr. Wu is in the process of buying Dr. Eberle's practice so when he retires in a few years, Dr. Wu will be there full time to take care of us. Both DDS are great guys too. read more

TOPS!!! The family has been coming here for the last 17 years or so. Really really like him and the staff. They are very friendly too! The cleaning and x-rays etc are quick and (somewhat) pain free! About as good as a dentist can be. Minor cavities are filled quickly and on the spot with lasers! If you saw my review of another San Ramon dentist, you'll know why we paid out of pocket (no insurance coverage) to come back to Dr. Eberle/Dr. Wu. These guys ROCK!!!! I went to Dr.Eberle for ten years and continued to see him even though I moved several times in and around the bay area. Finding a dentist closer to me was never my objective, but remaining one of his patients was! My whole family goes to him and apparently we have dental "issues" because I can recall more than one weekend call from a member of my family requesting he see them on a Sunday or first thing Monday to get them out of their misery. And you know what? He always fit us in. We're talking root canals lasting ten minutes, people. The only thing better than painless dental care is quick, painless dental care by someone who knows what he's doing, won't try and find things wrong with you so he can charge you more $$$ and lets you get on with your day! read more

Dr WU is a clown. Has no clue what dentistry means. Me and my family had been his patients for more than 5 years and he has messed up all the major procedure we done with him. 1. I had wisdom tooth removal procedure. He game me 8(!!!) local anesthesia shots broke my tooth and announced I am immune to local anesthesia and sent me to surgeon the following day way pain killers. With my current dentist it just took 1 shot to to do the job. It was VERY "comforting" feeling to see him refer to his school textbook while doing my procedure! 2. He did root canal and capping for my wife. We had to do the root canal again in 2 years and Endodontist said last dentist didn't do it properly. 3. My wife had filling done for cavity which fell out in a year. Stay away from him! avoid like plague!! I was a Dr Eberle patient for about 12 years. He's a nice guy. But, if wasn't too lazy I would switch to another office long time ago. Dr Eberle is a good doctor, but in busy times he had like 2 -3 people at the same time. You come on time, waiting for 15-30 minutes, then waiting on the chair while he is running between the patients. So basically I was closing my eyes on this mess. Eventually Dr Wu came in. In the beginning was perfect, he was doing everything almost painless and I switched to him. The problem he couldn't make most of complicated jobs and had to ask Dr Eberle about most of the stuff. And with some time he lost what he had in the beginning. Dr Eberle obviously much better and more experienced. The biggest problem it's they have a nasty woman who running the office and the feeling like the doctors work for her, and not she for them. She can be absolutely rude and loud with both doctors in front of the people and they let her doing it over and over again. Everyone I know complaying that she's rude. And most of them left the office mostly because of her. And also a lady in the front window who never even say hi. Should be at least some training I guess. Also she seems so lazy to make an easy call. Instead she's mailing the notes. Can imagine why the bills getting bigger and bigger. Yeah, why bother, our bills pay the postage. Don't get how she got there. Also a few years ago they made a rule that if you making an appointment for the same day with the pain it's counts like emergency and you have to pay surcharge. I wish to schedule my tooth pain but by some reason it always so unexpected. And it have never been a problem before. You always could call, and Dr Eberle always made it happen to squeeze you in the same day. So I'm so glad that don't have to use this office anymore. read more

Avoid this practice. When the chips are down you can't count on this practice. After being a patient for nine years Im now leaving. I broke my front teeth at work. Was told by the front office that they would do the work on my teeth, and use workers compensation insurance. Im in the chair and before they start the work they show me my bill. I said that the bill needs to be sent to workers compensation for payment. They changed there minds, and refussed to deal with insurance. Now I have to find a new denitist that will take workers compensation. Some loalty! To make things worse there sending me a bill for the x-ray they took right before they changed their minds. Told them to submitt to workers comp. Refussed again and said there billing my normal insurance. Then in a smart ass tone said have a nice day. read more

I chose Dr. Wu because he attended UC Berkeley and UCLA. In addition to his orthodontic skills, I was also impressed by his knowledge of implant procedures and endodontics. My husband has been having a problem tooth for about two years and things finally came to a head on Wednesday. He had not been seen by Dr. Eberle or Dr. Wu before.
