I think the one star reviews for this salon are spam. I've had nothing but wonderful experiences here, it's always very clean and the staff is both incredibly competent and incredibly nice. Came here after my highlights were messed up by another establishment and the owner stepped in immediately, recruited additional specific expertise from her team, took her time, fixed my hair, and made sure I left looking good and feeling much better. By some miracle she was able to squeeze me into the cracks of her packed day and even still, at no point was I made to feel rushed or like a burden. I couldn't help but observe the familial community vibe of the place. You obtain that many regulars who are excited to come in and catch up for a reason. My experience there really left an impact on me. Her kindness and take-charge "we've got you" attitude in the face of my fear and desperation was unbelievably soothing. It calmed my anxiety over the entire less-than-ideal situation. Could not have been sweeter, more GENEROUS or more helpful. I never forget when people go above and beyond the call of duty like this. She didn't have to care as much as she did or do as much as she did for me. But boy do I appreciate it!!! Thank God for this angel of a woman. Give them all of your business! I've been getting my hair cut by (little) Mary for over 10 years! She always works with me to figure out the best way to cut and style my hair when I want to try something new. I also go to her to get my hair done for special events and it always looks great and receives a ton of compliments. Reasonable pricing, great service, friendly staff! The owner, Mary Beth, is always smiling and greeting people as they walk in - her chair is closest to the entrance, so she really sets a positive tone for customers when they arrive. They have a lot of regulars and book up quickly, so if you know when you want to go and have someone in mind, I suggest booking in advance. read more

Blondie Salon in Centereach is like finding a treasure. My first time visit was wonderful in that making the appointment was very accommodating, the people were very friendly, the place was very clean, and most of all the hairdresser was very professional. I got a beautiful haircut. Salons have become a free for all sales pitch, fast moving train track atmosphere and many times mediocre hair skills. I have been going to Blondies Hair Studio for over 10 years. The staff there has always been very nice even on their busiest days. I have had many things done there haircuts, color, keratin treatment, make up, wax, and updos for weddings. I have never been disappointed in all the years I have been going there. The owner of this place was from right up the same road at Bamboo and she took some of their former beauticians with her. She did not, however, adopt the promotion of giving away a free cat with each haircut like the Thai-based establishment she came from. Instead Blondies offers free coffee to its patrons waiting to get snipped. I prefer the old days when I could get a little off the sides from MaryBeth and a Tabby named Lucky too. I'm more of a tea drinker though and with the price of cuts these days, even for men, 'a cut and a cat' seems like a much better bargain. This place is pretty good though and it's good to see MaryBeth doing well. I wonder if Blondie is a real blonde though. Hmmm. read more

I went here for years and years and am sad that moving to Boston meant finding a new hairdresser. I went through a few hairdressers here but the latest one was Maryann. So nice! And now that Blondie has moved next door to where it used to be located, it is even nicer and more spacious. The prices are fantastic ($25) and they really listen to what you want and don't want done to your hair. I highly recommend this place! read more

Rude staff, filthy salon. There was hair color all over the chairs.....I had to put down a towel so I wouldn't ruin my clothes. The floor was covered in gunk and other hair products. They screwed up my highlights, admitted it and said they would fix it free of charge. After they did, the owner charged me anyway!!! Had to pay twice. I would recommend that you do NOT let these people do your hair and find another salon......this place is awful.....and dirty! read more
