The menu here is reasonably priced for the HK cafe food that's available till 5pm. We were impressed by the huge portions & surprisingly good flavours. Baked Fish Fillet w/ Cheese & Cream Sauce was savoury & arrived hot loaded with crispy fillets. Fried rice underneath filled the large oven dish. Curry Beef Brisket Rice was stewed well to achieve really tender tendons. These are still two of our go-to dishes here. We did notice the environment gets loud from time-to-time, when it's fairly packed with patrons but some have split to the new rice roll spot nearby. Skip it or hit it? We will keep moving back and recommending here to our friends for the authentic and hearty HK cafe food.

I feel some restaurants tend to use pork that is not fresh for this dish to save a few bucks, particularly, because they thought the tomato sauce could cover up that taste. I decided to give it a shot at Cha Kee because I just really wanted to have it today, and damn, I've got to say I was extremely impressed by the baked pork chop on rice here. It was perhaps one of the best I've ever tasted in recent years, after visiting countless HK tea restaurants. The tomato sauce itself is perfect - sour and sweet in the best way possible. The pork chop? Excellent. Not only is it super fresh (unlike how it is sometimes served in other Hk tea restaurants), but the texture, the cut and the flavours are all perfect. The uniquely juicy thick cut was nicely coated in panko and cooked to crispy perfection. Every bite is a satisfying, pleasant surprise. While it is not the cheapest in town, it comes with a free drink (and the ice drink is the same price!) I will definitely come back often.
