Coworker brought me by for lunch. They claim to be a bbq place but being from Texas I am not sure I sae much bbq. They have a large menu and I saw folks eating pulled pork sandwiches, but I didn't see any real BBQ. I had the smothered steak, which was good. Tasted like Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, baked beans and an apple cobbler for lunch. My coworker had the pulled pork with fries. It was all really good and best part, for both of us and a $5 tip cost less than $30 bucks. Its worth the stop and don't let the cover of the book fool ya. They can cook.

Food and service was amazing. Prices are cheaper than Mc Donalds. Great food and good Southern hospitality.

It was one of those days that I had to have some bbq and I wanted to try somewhere new. After performing my Yelp "Cheap Eats" search, I landed upon Barbecue Kitchen. As eating on a budget has become a topic of conversation, I was excited to see the "Cheap Eats" search work in real time. As Barbecue Kitchen provides a robust menu with great pricing, it was an easy decision to head on over for date night. Arriving at Barbecue Kitchen I was excited to see that they have their own parking lot. As Barbecue Kitchen sits right on the main road, it was super easy to find and parking was in abundance. Walking in, Barbecue Kitchen has a homely feel and the classic interior design of a down home barbecue spot. The staff greeted us with a smile and as we were dining in, they advised us to sit anywhere we would like. Once at our booth of choice, the waitress arrived and further greeted us. She flashed her smile, provided us menus and went over what the specials for the day were. I decided to do Sweet Tea for my drink along with the Rib Tips Dinner Plate with Sweet Potato Soufflé, Baked Beans, Dressing and Gravy, and Cornbread. The Sweet Tea was delivered and it was amazing. Home brewed. Sweetened to perfection. Perfect ice to tea ratio and a robust tea flavor profile. This was that good tea bag. lol. The food arrived without too long of a wait and everything looked like it was made true cookout style. Upon saying grace, it was time to eat! Rib Tips - Meaty. Tender. Bland flavor profile. The sauce brings the flavor. If you aren't a sauce eater, I suggest you stay away from this option as you must have the sauce to have any flavor. However, the meat was moist and smoked to perfection. Sweet Potato Souffle - Good portion. Lacked a robust flavor spotlight. The potato's natural flavor dominated the dish. If you love sweet potatoes, you will love this dish. If you desire the more sweet flavor profile, this isn't it. Baked Beans - Made with bacon. Hint of sweetness. Overall good. Dressing and Gravy - Good portion. No flavor. Dressing was bland. Gravy was bland. As a pair it was double bland. Cornbread - If you are a lover of hot water cornbread, this is for you as it spotlights the natural corn flavor with no added sweetness. Overall, the Barbecue Kitchen was a moderate experience. The service was amazing. The food was sub-par. The pricing is budget friendly.

Hole in the wall BBQ spot. They have huge tables so if you're there with family and friends you will all fit! This joint is a bit off the beaten path but depending on your taste buds you might be thankful. They offer breakfast and BBQ early in the morning. Our mouths encountered ribs, collared greens, pancakes, grits, oatmeal and fried catfish at 10am! The collared greens were by far my favorite! Homemade everything including the syrup. The service is like going to your auntie's house. They do not offer anything that's not already on the menu.

It's rare to find these kind of places anymore. Had a morning flight and we decided to stop by for some truly authentic southern food. Service was wonderful and food came out delicious and quickly. You can see why this place was busy - when you come here you feel at home and know that the food will be made with love. (Not to mention - we got a ton of food and the bill was inexpensive) Highly, highly recommend, especially if you are heading to the airport. They have early morning hours and much better than the airport food by far!

Could not ask for a friendlier staff. Rustic true bbq restaurant feel. Several of the side items are only available certain days. I got sweet tea that was excellent. Pulled pork that unfortunately was on the dry side. Collard greens were spot on, fried okra was good but not homemade and topped it all off with the best part of the meal, sweet potato souffle which had raisins in it.

While visiting I wanted to try some good down home southern cooking and thought to myself, "this place is it!". Upon entering we were barely greeted by one of the servers who told us to seat ourselves anywhere. Ambience was cool with that old southern divey feel. Our server took her time getting to us and was not very friendly nor did she check up on us very often (what happened to southern hospitality?). We started off with a complimentary order of corn bread. I ordered the two fried chicken breast special with three sides (squash casserole, greens, and mashed with gravy) & my friend ordered the pork and brisket special with beans, some kind of stew, and coleslaw. Portions were very generous and the prices were very reasonable but the taste was very bland! I had to add barbecue sauce to my fried chicken to give it some flavor and some hot sauce to the greens. The mashed potatoes were the worst as they had no salt and no pepper. The squash casserole tasted as if scrambled eggs were mixed in with it and watery as well. We were gonna order banana pudding for dessert but decided to skip it. Aside from the food not being tasty, we didn't feel welcomed there as both our server was very cold and the cashier said not one word to us. Very disappointing experience all the way around.

This is a nice family establishment with a family feel to it. I felt like i was eating at my aunties house for Sunday Dinner. I loved the amount of food they give you, but the rin tips were a tad bit dry. The sides were definitely the best part of the meal. The Service was great! Our server was friendly quick and extremely nice. I wull definitely try this again, because they have different menus daily. I love that.

The name of the establishment intrigued me enough so I ordered it via food delivery app. I requested condiments, literally said "any condiment" and didn't get any, so I was left eating some rather dry sandwiches. The country fried steak sandwich tasted really good but it's just bread and a fried piece of steak, nothing impressive. The brisket was decent and the smoked sausage is avoidable.

I tried to find a new bbq place today because I felt like ribs. My order was placed and I waited about 15 mins before being told they were out of ribs. So I substituted for rib tips. When I got to my car and took at look at the rib tips, I looked at it like ....wth is this. I guess this must be a new take on tips. Because I wanted ribs, I went to Hattie Bs. Back to this place. On top of that disappointment, I was got a Sweet Potatoe pie. I opened the pie wrapping and lo and behold , MOLD ON THE PIE. OMG. NEVER AGAIN. I'm done!!!

Went in around 2pm on Father's Day and was able to get a table right away. Just like other reviews I agree that the food could use a little seasoning, but adding your own salt and pepper will do just fine. Salmon patty was good, I'll get it separately without the sandwich and mix it into the bowl of grits next time. Turkey sausage sandwich was good, I recommend adding a scrambled egg, cheese and some jelly to go with it. Got all this for less than $25 so I think it's well worth it. Come here if you want a lot for a little bit, definitely left satisfied. Giving it 3 stars because this somewhere I can come for a guaranteed meal, but I wouldnt rush to recommend or take somebody here if I wanted to give them an experience.

I've been to ATL multiple times and I never knew this place existed. I have to say it was really good all the home cooked vegetables you could imagine. I really wanted some good vegetables and I got just what I needed okra, corn, & tomatoes, smothered squash and onions, black eyed peas, cornbread, and fried chicken wings and some turkey salad for later. Even the ice tea was delicious. I will definitely be going back. It was clean and everyone was nice and friendly. Great Food and Customer Service!!!

The atmosphere is lively, colorful, and full of energy with music and a fun crowd. If you're trying to figure out what to order, I'd look at the Salmon & Grits and definitely add the Honey Butter Biscuits. The salmon and grits are one of the menu favorites, and those biscuits seem to be one of the things you really shouldn't leave without trying. The portions here are also pretty generous. Service can depend on how busy they are, but overall the staff is friendly and personable. This is a popular brunch spot, though, so I wouldn't necessarily come during a peak period expecting to be in and out quickly. Parking is better than you might expect for a restaurant on Main Street. There's free street parking and a larger lot behind the building, although obviously the easier spaces disappear when the restaurant gets busy. Overall, good food, a fun brunch atmosphere, friendly service, and a convenient College Park location not far from the airport. I'd come back, particularly if I were meeting friends and wanted brunch somewhere with a little energy rather than a quiet breakfast.
