Walked in with my daughter and grand daughter today. Sat at a table that clearly had not been wiped down yet from the previous customer. But it was the only spot available. Asked the waitress if they have high chairs for the baby, and her reply was "I don't think so." So highly recommend that changes because we almost left. Thankfully we had his stroller and a he was able to use that. I asked twice for the table to be wiped down and she said she would, but never did. So we had to eat with other peoples crumbs and a wet spot in the middle of the table. No creamer or jelly at the table. Had to ask for a refill of coffee. The food was sub par. The hash browns only tasted like they were warmed up instead of cooked. They weren't browned at all. Highly recommend your young waitress on 9/11/22 at 11am steps up her customer service skills. We were hoping this could be our new breakfast spot, but unfortunately not. The food was just okay, flavorless and cold. They had zero covid precautions, no masks, no distancing, etc. The food took forever to come out even with their small menu. It was so packed, you can barely get to the door, tables so tight and clutter everywhere. We almost left as soon as we walked in but the kind waitress talked us into staying. Eclectic decor that created a great atmosphere. The food was tasty and came out super fast. Inexpensive too. The barbed wire seasoning that you can add to your potatoes was interesting..... needed something, salt and pepper maybe. The owner also came out and chatted with us and was helping bus tables. What a great venue! All kinds of cool stuff (antique and odd finds) on the walls to look at - very cozy !! The menu has a lot of offerings. Service was great. Unfortunately, that all becomes lost in the poor taste of their food. My omelette was overcooked and the taste was poor - I suspect the food was old; especially the eggs. The d Ed core of the place when you walk in had you excited to look around and see all of the wonderful memorabilia from days long ago. The food is excellent and the waitress that we had made some terrific recommendations. We will definitely be coming back again when we are in town. Not only was the food not good but the decor is offensive. The walls are covered with antique memorabilia which was cute until I noticed the Nazi item on the wall. It's a clothing patch that the Jews were forced to wear in the Jewish ghettos if WW2 to label them before they were killed. It's just on the wall in the middle booth. Now they have a sign outside that reads "no mandate", so obviously they don't care about the health and safety of their customers. read more

My wife and I went there this morning and our breakfast was amazing! She had the bacon pancake with peanut butter syrup and the syrup was her favorite part of the meal. I got a four egg all meat omelette and it was very tasty and very filling. Our waitress was very attentive and everything came out quickly and hot. What a delightful way to cap off a 5 day cousin get together. We laughed with the friendly and accommodating staff--Sparky and owner Barb. Food came out quickly even with a crowded restaurant and we all gave thumbs up! Even though we are from Indy and our return will be a year away, my other Michigan cousins said "we'll be back." Not busy, totally ignored by wait staff. Food was basic and unimpressive. Nope, go someplace else.

Unfortunately a one and done. Newer to the town, after reading the reviews we were excited to try this place. As soon as we walked in we noticed the unique decor-great. It was completely silent and everyone eating staring at us and no one said anything. No sign saying "wait to be seated" or "seat yourself. The waitress that was at the cash register finally looked up at us, looked us up and down, then proceeded back to what she was doing. Finally, I guess when she found the energy, said you can sit wherever. Not warm and friendly at all. Ok, still trying to give a shot, sat down ordered coffee, (coffee was decent) we waited, coffee gone, no one came back to take our order for at least 15 minutes, had to ask for a refill. Ordered country fried steak, breakfast burrito, and an order of French toast. French toast was awful, I make better at home with very limited cooking skills, country fried steak looked burned and rubbery, really not good, breakfast burrito was just so-so half filled with potatoes, and served with hash browns (which were pretty good) it was potato overload. People go to eat at least 50% for the customer service. If that's no good and food is less that sub-par, what is even the point of going there? P.S. there was a young man that I think was helping out serving, he was the only one that had a smile on his face and actually acted like he cared to be there. read more

The place was full, which is to be expected on opening weekend (or any weekend for that matter), so we expected a wait. After a reasonable wait time, we were greeted and got our drinks in a timely fashion. We were surprised to see that they had grits on the menu, because not a lot of places have them and they are my wife's favorite. Our server took our order and she seemed a little inexperienced. Fast forward about 15 minutes. Our drinks have stayed full. A woman at the table next to us began grumbling about a long wait for food. Slowly the exchange between her and the server got a little heated, with her nearly yelling about over an hour for food. Then the lady and owner started arguing. My wife starts the timer on her phone. Another 20 minutes passes with no word on our order. It has become apparent that no food is being pushed out of the kitchen, and every table in the place is waiting for food. Every table in there at the time waited at least and hour and a half for food. That's how long it took to get ours, Two egg & meat combos and a cheeseburger. The grits were cold and hard. My wife's eggs were hard as a rock (over easy)and her meat was missing. Server argued that meat was never ordered, hash browns were soggy and cold. All in all pretty terrible. The cheeseburger was good. Told them just bring the bill. Owner asked for a 2nd chance to make eggs right because they "were not over easy". Eggs came out good. Still no meat. New hash browns, but still cold and soggy. Not returning. read more

Very disappointed in their COVID-19 response. They are not putting their customers safety first and are considering opening before the stay at home order is lifted and way before it is safe to have dine in areas again. They are also not communicating to concerned bystanders very professionally or kindly. This behavior will stop me from returning ever again. The food was phenomenal and the staff was great. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The portions were so large that I couldn't finish my plate. All of their bread is homemade in house...10/10 recommend the bacon cheddar sourdough. The farmers omelet was a incredible. If I'm ever in this area again, we will definitely come back. read more

The decoration and atmosphere was unique and one of a kind. Our server was attentive, courteous, prompt and did a great job. The food not so impressive, however it was delivered quickly. The veggies in my western omelette had very little taste. The sour dough toast was white.....no signs of being toasted and therefore, not warm....I saw the same white colored toast on other customer's table. Drove thru Plainwell on our way to the airport in Grand Rapids when we came across this little gem. We stopped for breakfast and were so glad we did! What a treasure this was. Our breakfast was delicious, served hot and fast. We got a tour of both the men's and women's bathrooms, which sounds really silly but when you see them you'll totally understand.
