I ordered their vegan dog from the menu, and I am almost too embarrassed to share the picture of what they served me....it was bad... Though you probably can't really tell from the photo, they cooked the vegan dog inside its *plastic* casing and served it. Because it was covered with sauerkraut and onions I tried to take a bite, and didn't really know what was going on. I also tried to cut into it and that's when I discovered that it was cooked in plastic and burnt as well. When I took it back to the truck, the girl seemed confused as far as what the issue was. They did remake me a second one without the plastic casing, but at that point it was too late. And as a side note, the vegan dog is served on a bun that is not vegan (per the girl in the truck), and the dog is cooked on the same flat as everything else. It is always appreciated when food trucks and restaurants offer menu items that everyone can enjoy, but if it's so far outside of your comfort zone, that you aren't able to cook it properly, and may not understand that a vegan hot dog on a non-vegan bun may be an oxymoron, then it may not even be worth it. read more

For their bratwurst alone they offer Elk, Buffalo, Rattlesnake, Alligator, Venison, Antelope, Wild Boar, Ostrich, Duck, Pheasant or Veal. I went with the 3 Little Piggies Sandwich which is pulled wild boar with smoked wild boar bacon and sliced wild boar sausage. Sooooo good I want to try more things! Parked at Mountain Toad Brewery, Barbed Wire Reef was the perfect pairing for our delicious beers after a beautiful hike in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Despite the overlap of pulled boar meat, my husband and I shared the Wild Cuban Sandwich and the Piggy Fries Meal. We were sure that there would be leftovers, but instead we easily devoured both dishes. The sandwich meat was paired with a strong mustard and fresh cabbage slaw, while the the fries were more of a poutine-style dish. We also snagged some truffle sweet potato fries from our friends and were not disappointed. They came with three dipping sauces of various flavors/heats, but were also seasoned well enough to eat on their own. I'm surprised to see the mixed reviews. Five stars for me. read more

This was a fantastic food truck and the food was amazing. i had the carne asada fries and they were delicious. There was a ton of meat on the and the fries were crispy. The sauce they had on them was out of this world as well and I absolutely loved it. Pricing was a bit high but that was expected with a food truck and the quality of the food was awesome as well. I did have a tough time choosing because the menu was very interesting with the ostrich and snake meats. Everything looked great but I am happy with what I settled on. They were annoyed that I ordered items that they were out of, so I settled on a sausage. waited 20min before reminding them I was still waiting. 5 min later they start shutting down the truck, closing the service pass. I remind them again 5-10min later (I am the only person around at this point). ANOTHER 5min or so they come out and hand me a buy 1 get 1 beer or cocktail for their brick and mortar location. no food, no refund, no sorry, no eye contact. just a rumbly tummy! I work in the service industry, and I understand that things get forgotten. It was how they were so indifferent that left a bad taste in my mouth. Their sweet potato fries are to die for! They showed up on my schools campus for an event one day and while I didn't think twice about the quality as I was just concerned about getting in a quick snack before classes, their fries amazed me! I also was extremely impressed with their selection of sauces. As a token ketchup hater and a sauce lover I really appreciated their array of different aiolis and other savory sauces. Wow! Yum!! I finally got the chance o try this truck at max taps tonight. Looking at the menu I did not know what to order because everything looked amazing. So I panic ordered and got the Maryland crab cake sandwich and the carne Asada fries. What felt like 2 min later my food was ready and it looked GOOD!!!! Yeep! Yet another day in the ol' DTC where I was regretful that I didn't bring a lunch and elected to get something off of a truck at Food Truck Row at the Hyatt Regency. First off, the Food Truck Row website is usually super wrong in the line-up so I was super psyched to have the choice between a few trucks that weren't actually there (but that's neither here nor there and does not contribute to the two starness of this review). After perusing the offerings, I ended up at this truck opting for their vegan beet burger as it seemed to be the most thoughtful veggie option out of the lot of 'em. $9 delivered a dry red patty with lettuce, tomato, and "vegan garlic aioli". Luckily some of their sriracha aioli they have on the side salvaged the general tastelessness of the sandwich, but I felt super ripped off having paid so much for a boring, meatless sandwich with no side. Since I feel like this review should be constructive, maybe add some more toppings to the burger and put a little bit of thought into the flavors? Caramelized onions, avocado, mushrooms, or even like a curried ketchup can go a long way in pepping up an otherwise boring patty. Until then, I'd skip this one. read more

We were leaving downtown and noticed this parked outside of Jagged Mountain Brewery. I am all about trying out some food trucks, so we pulled over to give it a shot. The menu looks absolutely amazing, having limited funds and not being overly hungry, I opted for the seared ahi sandwich with wasabi aioli. The bread tasted fresh and the tuna tasted... less fresh but not old. Not worth the $13 I paid for it. My wife got the truffle parmesan waffle fries- they were not waffle fries when we got them and were way, way, way under cooked. My daughter got a burger and she seemed to enjoy it. I would be willing to try it again and try out some of the wild game sausages they have, based on the other reviews seen here, perhaps I just chose the wrong things to try. read more

We highly recommend both the food truck and the restaurant. The service is phenomenal, the food is outstanding, the ambience is perfect for an afternoon out for some great food and relaxation. For the party planning, the owner and catering manager were so easy to work with, were very responsive, and knew exactly what we needed for this party. I can only write about my own opinion of the food truck and all that I had were the fries. My husband had a fish sandwich and my daughter had a burger and they both really liked their food. I myself, didn't love mine a bit, in fact it wasn't worth eating. I got the fries and they were between $5-$6. Many of them weren't cooked through and were actually near crunchy from being so under-cooked. They lacked salt and seasoning. I am all about buying local, so I encourage you to eat here, but get the burger or something besides fries. read more

I can't speak to the food because I never got to try any, which is unfortunate because I enjoy trying different and unusual types of game. I went to their booth at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival (which gets 5 stars from me, so please don't let this review sway your thoughts on the Festival). There was no line so I walked up to the counter and was stared at by the four staff members. At this moment, another woman walked up and asked how the animals that they use are raised, and the response from the staff was merely a bewildered stare and a mumbled "I don't know" answer. I then placed my order for an elk burger and fries for $16 ($16!!!! I get that it's elk, but come on! It's a burger and fries!) A few more people came up and placed their orders as I stood to the side and waited for my food to be prepared. After waiting for a little more than 10 minutes, I noticed that people that ordered after me were getting their food, so I approached the counter and asked how my elk burger was coming along. Once again, the response was a blank stare. The girl did not even remember me from ordering 10 minutes before! At that point the girl took what looked to be a very not fresh patty and put it on the grill. That's when I decided to ask for my money back. The girl gave me my $16 back with the same blase and aloof attitude that existed through out the whole interaction. I understand that you may hate your job, but a smile/thank you/apology for forgetting to get the food started would have gone a long way. read more

I found these guys a few years ago, and I must say that their quality and selection are still as good as ever. They have a wide selection of exotic wild game like Rattlesnake brats, Camel and Kangaroo burgers, blackened Mahi, seared Ahi Tuna, pulled Wild Boar, Buffalo burgers and brats and so much more! And yes, I've tried all of these things and most everything on the menu. :) They even hand-cut their own fries - my favorite are the parmesan truffle fries because they don't skimp on the parmesan. Another perk is that they make their own unique sauces, too! What I love is that they stick to what they advertise - Wild Game Burgers and Brats. No frills, no gimmics, just wild game burgers and brats. They also have items that cater to vegans and vegetarians so everyone can enjoy something here. FYI, I have tried their homemade vegan beet burger and it's actually fantastic! Give them a try. So first of all my fault for going to a bbq place and trying to order something non meat. But I was at the brewery next door and wanted to check it out. I asked the bartender if I could order the street tacos without chicken and was straight up told no. So I settled on guacamole and chips. $11 later I get the smallest little container of guac sent out to me I thought it was a joke. I asked for another small container for the amount I spent, and to their credit, the bartender gave me another small container. All without talking and seemingly pissed off at me. As another reviewer mentioned, the roo burger is rather dry and overcooked, but part of that is probably the lean roo meat, which tastes like venison to me. The bun and toppings were fresh, and the choice of sauces varied enough to please me. Parmesan fries are delectable, soft and very liberally Parmesany. I had the buffalo "gourmet" burger and it was definitely not gourmet! It seemed like an old frozen party that was over-cooked. Extremely disappointed. The sweet potato fries were tasty and that's the only reason why I gave this food truck 2 stars. My Husband got the blackened ahi tuna burger and it was okay. The truck is outside of Prost Brewing a lot, and I finally decided to stop by and check them out. I don't agree with the users hating on the fries, but opinions are opinions. I understand the observations that they didn't seem fully cooked, but I still found them delicious, and also very unique. I got the sweet potato fries and would go back solely for them. They seemed fresh, like I could tell the potatoes were actually cut fresh, rather than coming in some bag ordered from a distributor (although they still may have been). They were a bit expensive ($6), but I didn't mind paying that much for freshness. I also got the BBQ Wild Boar Sandwich, which I shared with my lady. We both thought it was fantastic and want to return sometime. The only complaint I have is price. My girlfriend has gluten sensitivity and I was sad to find that the gluten free bun is $2.50 extra. I know, not really something to complain about, but this brought the cost of the sandwich and fries up to $18 or so. Even without the bun, the sandwich and fries would have been over $15, so this place is not cheap, and does not really qualify as indulgent bar food. It compares as slightly more expensive than places like Ted's Montana Grill, so I think of it as more of an occasional thing. Husband and I were the first to partake of the delicious food tonight offered by the truck parked along the First Friday on Santa Fe (during First Friday Art Walk) this evening. I was a little concerned that I might not enjoy the Chipotle BBQ Wild Boar Sandwich. I didn't need to be. The meat was fresh and tastier than usual pork might be. We decided to give Food Truck Row a shot on Sunday during Starfest at the nearby DTC Marriott, in lieu of the nearby Ancestral Wendy's of Destiny™ that we usually frequent, and although the menu proffered a variety of wild game meats, the food was somewhat disappointing. We paid food truck prices, so it wasn't more expensive than most offerings I've had from such mobile diners as the Barbed Wire Reef folks, though neither was it less expensive. The service was decent; the people were friendly enough, but unfortunately, they did have a bit of confusion regarding our order. We got a buffalo burger with cheese and a wild boar burger with cheese, and an order of their fries. Fries are neither included with the meal nor listed on the menu, but it so happens they are two dollars. I think they have some manner of special fries as well, though I cannot say what or how expensive they are because once again, the only things on the menu are the burgers and other offerings. Our food came out in two waves; first, they handed me a burger and said it was the buffalo burger my fiance ordered. The lettuce, tomato, and onions were on the side, which was appreciated, since I forgot to ask them to take off the onions and tomato because she doesn't like them. Then, they handed me another burger and the side of fries, both on the same cardboard tray, with all the toppings on the burger, stating that the second burger was our buffalo burger. When I asked, they had to hold a bit of a meeting to determine which burger was actually the buffalo (ironically, it turned out to be the one marked with a wooden pick), which seemed mostly guesswork but turned out to be correct. My wild boar burger was moderately dry and my fiance's buffalo burger, she said, was nothing to write home about, but the fries were fresh-cut style with the potato peel still attached and pretty decent, so overall, I was not so much upset with the quality of the food as I was merely disappointed. If these guys are back for Starfest next year, I'll try the vindaloo from the Indian food truck, or the vindaloo from the Indian buffet down the road. Or I'll simply return to the Ancestral Wendy's of Destiny™ as in the days of old. read more
