Customer service was terrible in this place. Employees are also very stingy with the food there. Would not recommend.

Dirty. Staffed by teenage boys with no idea of cleanliness. Looked as if they had had a food fight. Prices are too high for what you get.

Absolutely disgusting. Rice tasted like crap. Pico was nasty. Burrito smelled like someone busted a nut on it. Never again will I go back.

I have been a fan of their carnitas since my very first visit almost 10 years ago and it's still the dish I will order 80% of the time... either as a meal or as a bowl. My wife almost always gets a veggie burrito or chimichanga and we definitely ALWAYS get their chicken taquitos either by themselves or as part of the sampler plate. They've had a few fails over the year, like a few occasions when the taquitos were served cold in the center or when the carnitas over a bed of onions came out waaaay too overcooked and dry. But by and large they have always given us an excellent, clean and consistent dining experience with wonderful servers. To their credit, I don't think we've ever had an issue with any server in all of the years we've been patrons. NOTE: The times they got it wrong were always corrected when I spoke up. The sweet tea here is some of my favorite in all the south (except for this last visit) and also their frozen piña colada is my third favorite ever, with the first being one I had on a random beach in Costa Rica many years ago and the second favorite being at Pepper's Cantina in Panama City, Florida. I don't personally believe their current 3.7 rating is accurate (should be higher), but then again my loyalty might be making my opinion bias. However, any local will tell you this location is packed regularly and is almost impossible to get in on weekends without a significant wait time. Get the carnitas, burrito, sampler, three way cheese dip and a frozen piña colada or sweet tea.

This place is superrr busy (vibrant and active with families eating and chatting). The decorum is culturally beautiful, as well. We enjoyed dining at El Real. The only drawback for us was the wait for our server to come back to take our dinner orders. We were relieved when our orders were taken. However, this was short-lived. We then waited close to 30mins before our dinners arrived. The wait(s) were exorbitant. However, the meals were delicious, our server was polite, so we will try this eatery again.

Definitively a bar with locals doing the same , sat at the bar and got me a Mike's margarita. It was OK, not really standing out, but it was cold and I drank it pretty quick then I decided to grab a beer. Not sure how many I was going to have so I got a set of chicken and beef empanadas one of each, which are actually quite good. I'm trusting the refresh, but pastry was nice and crispy, interior was hot and they were quite tasty. Ended up getting a couple of beers after the margarita as I cleaned out some emails on my phone, but nice little quaint place, it was 3 o'clock in the afternoon so not very crowded but nice staff, clean place, will definitely come back and try a premium margarita and peruse the menu to see if this is truly a bar and grill or just a bar! Will update my review upon returning with guest and engaging in a few more cocktail!!! Nice little place !

They serve Mexican dishes but also have some fusion dishes (think birria ramen or grilled cheese, or adobo pasta). It's a little hit or miss depending on what you order. However, when it's hitting it's great. The server we had was helpful. After eating the salsa which had no kick to it, I asked what the spiciest thing on the menu was and she told me the Camarones a la Diabla. I ordered it without hesitation and was glad I did. It was spicy and the shrimp seemed endless because they gave so many. It went perfectly with the rice and avocado.

This is actually one of the few places that I actually felt improved in recent years which is the opposite of what you usually tend to see over time. One big plus is that their hours are longer and they are open for more days than they used to be (they used to be closed 2-3 days of the week for reference). If there is a downside compared to older years, I'd say the service has declined slightly and staff can be a little unattentive at times, but still wouldn't say that it's bad. Good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors. They will always bring you a basket of chips and salsa to start with. And unlike most other places, they are actually GOOD quality and they give you a sizeable portion to start so you're not constantly asking for chip refills. And they have no issues giving those to you as well. Menu is on the smaller side, but you can't go wrong with one of their tacos. Tried a few and have yet to have a bad experience. A few years back I occasionally had some issues with the tacos being burnt but haven't this happen again in recent visits. One thing I also really like is the rice and beans they give you with the tacos. While that may be a standard for any mexican joint, the rice has a bit of cheese mixed into it and is done very well. Perfect to add into any taco or enjoy on its own. The drinks are pretty on-point as well. Although the tacos may not look that big on initial glance they will definitely fill you up especially if you opt for their sour cream and guac, which were both done very well. Overall, this is probably my favorite spot for Mexican in the area, and I'll keep coming back every time I visit GA.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear this place is a local favorite. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the menu offers a great selection of traditional Mexican dishes, along with a few Salvadoran influences that make it even more unique. One of the highlights of the evening was meeting the owner, Antonio Ramirez. Throughout the meal, he made his way around the restaurant, stopping at each table with a smile to ask how everything was and to make sure guests were enjoying themselves. That level of personal attention is becoming increasingly rare and speaks volumes about how much he cares about both the food and the customer experience. It's also obvious that the local college crowd has discovered this gem. There were plenty of students enjoying dinner, and it seemed like the margaritas were especially popular--particularly when Mom and Dad were picking up the tab! Fortunately, the margaritas are well worth it, with generous pours and plenty of options to choose from. The food was excellent, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Most importantly, the flavors felt authentic and homemade rather than the typical chain restaurant version of Mexican food.

We appreciated the Reddit recommendation to try this spot in the food desert of Cumming!…read more An early Saturday dinner time allowed us to stop by their place which is located next to a local small grocery store. We were quickly seated and overall service was very friendly and accommodating. My margarita was very fresh tasting and the spicy salt rim was delicious. Next time, I will opt for the 16oz compared to the 12 Oz. Tne fresh juices were tasty as well as the flavor option such as tamarind. Chips were crisp and flaky. So much better than other similar places where the chips were inedible and so hard. We requested red salsa that was more like hot sauce. The salsa that accommodated the chips turned put to be salsa Verde and mayo, not our favorite. So when we were asked, we requested a salsa verde option which was the best choice overall. The $2+ cost for endless chips was worth it for me. Hubby requested the shrimp fajitas and I ordered the shrimp Mexicana platter. Good portion sizes even if flavors were not that complex. Homemade corn tortillas were very good. Overall, an enjoyable meal. Looking forward to our next visit!
