I came here as a walk-in for a shave. Shave's can be weird, sometimes barbers are into it other times they seem to not want to be bothered. I can't remember the barber's name, but he was super friendly, chatted me up, etc. and gave me a great shave to boot. No rush, took his time, made sure I was happy with the results. My husband took my 3 year old to this barber because they allegedly have a "sensory friendly" haircut - basically they butchered his hair and he was in such a state that people stopped to stare - with the barber basically saying "that's all that he could do." I understand that some places don't know how to handle children with sensitivities - but don't advertise that you do. read more

Man, where do I start. I came in here in search for my next barber shop. I walked in checking to see if they took walk-ins and I was told to take a seat and someone would take care of me. I then sat in the seat of a barber (Tony?), who already so seemed peeved. He asks me what I want and starts cutting. He starts buzzing and cutting and no joke this guy finished my haircut in under 5 minutes. When I make the request that he cut more he started to get all pissy and slamming his buzzers and water down on the counter. He finishes cutting and says "look man it's perfect!". I look at the "finished" cut and tell him it isn't done. I am not sure what to tell this guy at this point but then I ask if someone else can finish the cut. He gets even more aggravated and tells me to go sit on the bench. He then begins to pack up his stuff and tells people that he's leaving early and that he's never coming back. I get some rescuing by barber Chris and he takes his time, asks if he can do anything else. I wish I had waited the extra 10 minutes, it would have saved me the 5 minutes of anguish with this other barber. Chris is a 5 star barber! read more

My son is 6 years old and on the Spectrum. He's not the worst client for a barbershop but definitely needs some patience. When I found this place it had appointments for sensory inclusive clients. This was huge to my family as I hadn't found a place like this earlier on. I was nervous but saw many good review as online. So we took a chance. The experience was amazing not only was the staff professional and kind they had experience with children with Autism. My son got a professional hair cut for the first time. Its a shame that a small business like Barbers BluePrint has to struggle to survive in NYC. NoLita, Its a hot area. So raise the rent so no one can make a profit. This place is an old school barber shop. I stopped in to have a hot shave and a haircut. I'm a pop in guy, reservations are for suckers! Its a pretty good value for a shave and Arthur was great with the razor. No knicks on my face and I liked the treatment. My face was glowing after the hot towel massage. BB, Keep rockin'! This is not even an exaggeration at this point but when I look in the mirror I feel like the guy was just playing a prank on me and not even taking it seriously. I never leave reviews but I feel compelled to in this case because my experience was so awful. I left with massive rashes all over my face from incompetent shaving. On top of all that, they tried to charge me $80 for the experience. Went in for a cut and a signature shave (which is supposed to include a hot towel and whatnot). The initial haircut was fine if not a bit tense due to the guy doing the haircut telling me about how abusive his boss is and how a fight between the barbers had just happened a week back (apparently police had been called). Then for the shave the guy was being really rough with the blade cutting against the grain and having to go over the same place multiple times (although still ended up missing places). Then he proceeded to put lots of oils and a mask on my face and rub it in with rough towels causing irritation. When I saw the rash i asked for aftershave and he said he didn't have any. His boss said he did and handed cologne (?) which they guy proceeded to massage into my already irritated face. Then when i said i just wanted some cold water the guy spritzed me with his water bottle and tried to massage my skin with the rough towels again at which point i just asked to go to the bathroom and splash cold water on my face. The guy had a look on his face like he knew he had seriously f-ed up and asked his boss to ring me up. The boss then had the nerve to try and ring me full price. I'm like wtf are you seriously going to charge me for this? My face is butchered. And the guy was like uh yeah you were in the seat for a long time so... he ended up just charging me for a 'regular shave' instead of their signature as a 'favour'. unreal. read more

Good haircut - the barber knew what he was doing, anf it was pretty affordable at $25. The wait was okay (30mins, Saturday afternoon) and the manager was very pleasant. **UPDATED** After leaving, I realized I had a scraped-up neck ( I left assuming it wasn't anything too bad). But the owner was very apologetic, and insisted on refunding me the cost of the haircut. He explained it wasn't the razor - they replace them - but likely a too heavy hand on the shears. For the longest time, I was getting getting salon cuts in Midtown at either Martial Vivot or Fleischman's, paying upwards of $150 per visit, and walking out of the door never completely satisfied with the end of result. Incredibly frustrated with the fact that my haircuts hardly looked as if they were worth $150, I took to Google in search of new options. I walked into Barber's Blueprint for the first time in 2014, and have relied on the skill of its staff for all of my grooming needs ever since. Having received cuts from the likes of Lana, Arthur, Carlos, and others who have since left over the course of the last 4 years, I am convinced that I have finally found my "go to" place, and--although I have been quite pleased with all of my haircuts--I must say that I was most impressed with the skill of their barber, Carmello, from whom I received a haircut and hot-towel shave today. Carmello met my expectations in every way; from leaving my skin baby smooth after a hot-towel shave, to cutting and styling my hair to shiny perfection, I have neither qualms nor hesitations that he has provided me with one of the best haircuts that I have ever received in my 29 years of life. It is clear that Carmello takes his job seriously, and I respect the meticulous nature of his work immensely. At a humble $58 for a spectacular cut and shave, it goes to show that there isn't always a direct correlation between price and quality--Barber's Blueprint sets the bar high. read more

I had to tel him till him to stop mid hair cut, and had to ask someone else to finish. This review would've definitely been a good one had it not been for a bad second visit. The first time I came here, I got a cut from someone and it was just what I asked for (combover to the left). The issue was the second visit. I came by and asked for the same hairstyle from someone else. I even repeated it a few times saying I usually have a combover to the left. He repeatedly told me "I got you" after I reiterated it every time. So while the haircut commenced, he began by shaving my right side. I thought ok this is going well so far. He then proceeded to shave my left side as well and now I'm a bit confused. Before I knew it, he also trimmed down the middle as well. The haircut ended with me having a arrow hairstyle like I was the last avatar. I definitely wouldn't come back here again, at least not to this guy. I think his name was tony. read more
