Great little golf course. This course is perfect for someone just starting off playing golf. The greens are in decent shape. The fairways are a little a bit hard but all in all fun to play. The pro shop personnel are amazing. Always greeting you with a smile and willing to help. As well as the greenskeeper working so hard. This is a military course so you would need someone to sponsor you if you're not military. read more

A Fun golf course to play with your friends! The course itself is flat, long and wide open. The elevated greens are fast. The only challenge is when the wind starts blowing hard. Driving Range (can hit from grass) is okay. The pro shop is decent. The Team there (Kami, Gina, Daniel, and Jerry) are awesome! They are all friendly and helpful. Come for the golf and stay for the steakhouse inside. So amazing food by anybody standards. I really enjoyed the garlic french fries, and pork chop with onions. Now let's talk about golf. Very reasonably priced. I'm not from Hawaii so they don't charge a "tourist" fee, or overcharge. It's owned by the military so they welcome everyone. Palm trees and foliage direct you around the golf course and create obstacles for many dog legs. Watch out there's OB around many corners. I should mention the greens are in pretty good shape when I play, and all the greens are crowned for protection. Accurate iron shots are a must. Bring your chipping game to really shine here. read more

Course is great. Need to monitor who is playing. Seems like a lot of civilians with no ID and no sponsers are playing. This is a military course so priority should be active duty , retiree's, and dod. Recommend that 604 should open early on weekends. 9:00 am opening is not for our golfers. We tee off at 7am. After playing 9 holes Resturant is not even open. Come on Donovan. You should be servicing our golfers. Just my opinion. read more

We're late starters in the game of golf but, it's been 20 years. For years, I maligned golf as being the game for old folks AND not active enough. Well, I've been proven wrong...it's mentally and physically challenging. Yet, while playing this sport, you can still "stop and smell the roses" as you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery, fresh air, varying weather conditions, a park like walk that is at least 4 miles with varying terrain in 4 hours or less. Barbers Point Golf Course is a little gem for a Military course. Green fees are based upon military rank (active duty or retired) although, civilians are welcome. The fees are "reasonable" and similar to the municipal courses...we paid $26 per person for 18-hole play. Additional costs apply if you decide to ride an electric cart or rent a push cart while walking. The pro shop has a good selection of equipment, clothes and accessories with very friendly staff. This course is pretty straight-forward...by that, I mean the course layout is open with wide fairways, level lies, Kiawe tree lined hazard areas, and elevated holes that make you play them as targets to land on rather than bumping and running your golf ball. I also thought of the hole layouts as if I had déjà vu..long straight fairways or left or right doglegs that repeated yet varied distances. The course is in good shape with well-maintained grasses in the fairways and on the putting surfaces. Be careful as the course presents its hazards in the forms of sand bunkers or if you stray off the fairway, you will be caught up by the Kiawe trees or brush. I like this course...just got to hit 'em long and straight! read more

I love this golf course but they need to do something about the driving range hours. I went on a Thursday 8am and the fucking range was CLOSED! Then I came on a Saturday, stepped in the pro shop at 5:01 pm and then wouldn't give me a bucket because they stop giving out balls at 5pm. What a bunch of bullshit to a loyal customer. Came here with my military buddies to try out this military Golf Course. Great place to play, no wait, very level wide open course, and you don't lose too many balls here. Unfortunately Cafe is not open and they don't have drink carts coming by. read more

I have been officially bit by the "golfing bug" and LOVE this course! Just a few months ago, I had no clue what a fairway was, and if you asked me how the greens were, the only thing that would've came to mind was the pretty color of the grass :) This course here in Ewa is an awesome and affordable option among the many high-priced courses in the area. The first thing I love is the price, totally reasonable and their twilight rates are fantastic. My hubby and I golf a 9-hole twilight for $28 with a cart. Not bad at all for a fun-filled pau hana round :) The course is well maintained and for the most part, very flat. The surrounding wooded areas are pretty brutal, as those keawe trees make retrieving stray golf balls a pretty tough adventure. But lucky for me, I keep them on the pretty decent fairways unlike my hubby. The greens are well-kept and some of them are very generous in size. The course layout is a bit repetitive with either long straight fairways or doglegs, but no water hazards *yay* and lots of bunkers to play in. Oh, don't let me forget to mention the trees, lots of large trees! Nevertheless, I find it a great course to practice and it is always fun. The course pace is always casual, and it has a very relaxed feel with fellow novice golfers mixed in with lots of retirees with lots of time. Nice and slow. It's not usually a problem to walk-on without a tee-time during the week but it does get a bit busier on the weekends like most other golf courses. We can usually stick with our two-some, but we have been paired with other two-somes as well as individual golfers during their busier times. I found it a bit awkward at first, but I realize that most people are out there to have fun and it doesn't matter how good (or bad) you are. Someone else mentioned to be prepared to catch the whiff of the nearby sewage treatment plant. This is a true statement, but keep in mind that the more expensive course right down the road also shares the "breezes", but there you pay five times more to smell it :) I have not visited the driving range because I prefer a range with real grass but it seems well-appointed and it closes at dusk. The pro shop has everything you might possibly need with fair prices and somewhat friendly staff. The snack shop is also available with cold beverages and a large variety of snacks to enjoy there in their dining room or lanai, or to take along on the course. Basically a great all around course, and definitely a hidden gem. I am so lucky that we live only five minutes away!!! read more

The golf course is ok, not particularly interesting, but the little restaurant and bar was excellent. I think it's contracted by Restaurant 604 and the manager was awesome. The food was simple but well done and the service was first rate for our party of 9. read more

Very well maintained and well kept course. From the tee box, to the fairway, to the greens. All around a great course and for a great price.

I get deja vu a lot when playing this course. "Didn't we just play this hole; flat, dog leg. two bunkers guarding the huge green, aim just to the side of that tree?" The greens are huge on this course so the good news is that you are putting in 2 but the bad news is you may still be miles away from the hole. This is an OK course, and civilians can get on is some situations. Military courses are good to take visitors from out of town because, they don't charge Kama'aina rates. They just charge General and Admiral Rates. My visitors gladly paid the 40 bucks to golf there even if it wasn't the greatest course on the island. read more

my first time experiencing real grass range practice! i utilized the driving range twice during my stay in kapolei. both times there was plenty of space to hit balls for me and my mom/brother. there are two areas for putting practice, where we had friendly putting contests :) small bucket of balls is $2! full basket is $4 beautiful view free! read more

Never golfing again I know I'm not good. And I'm young But the fact that the Marshall was blaming me for every hole someone has made in the grass, on holes we haven't even played yet ( we started on hole 10) So now I'm Never golfing here again and I'm making sure my boyfriend doesn't either cause he's told me he's been harassed by the same Marshall. It really ruins your game when you're being followed and stared at the entire time your playing. Get new course marshals. All we were doing was playing a nice game of golf. We weren't going slow. No on caught up to us but yet he chose is to harass. Probably cause we were the only ones in our 20's on the course. read more

I come here regularly every time I drop my kids of for a swim meet to relax. I played the course for the first time yester with four of my buds. You can reserve a tee time a day before if you want and it was a Saturday. Parking is big and the staff is great. One thing that's great about this golf course is their range(full grass) optional astro turf at the back. We were signed up for 18 holes but only had time to play 9. The staff gave us a voucher for next time to finish off which was a first. I highly recommend this place. Amazing course well kept and hidden off the road. read more

The course is in much better shape than when I played it 6 months ago. The greens are very nice although a little slow, the bunkers have sand in them. The fairways are fine. They have the white tees forward and the par 5s are all reachable in 2. Cammie at the club house was friendly and fast. The only issue is that the restaurant is closed. I'll be back soon! read more

Reason why I give 1 star, is due to the health of the field. The fairways are crap and the greens look like they keep moving. I'm not sure if it's getting better or is tumbling down. We went through at 0900 on a Sunday and had over 2 other groups waiting on us. Not sure if they had overbooked it or did 5 minute intervals. So course was terrible with so challenges. Had the usual sand traps. But they didn't have water hazards, unique areas like most golf courses have and no unlikely routes. Place is not a place to go. read more

Don't know what course Mark G played, but Barber's Pt. is a challenging course because to the contrary, the greens are small and elevated. No Texas wedges here unless you want to increase your score by about 12 strokes. You need to hit high wedge shots or the greens you do hit in regulation may not hold. If you hit your drives about 260+ the course is not that difficult except for the small greens. A really good course to sharpen your iron play. read more
