Recently, we had our wedding here. We worked with Tracy, their Director of Events, who was so helpful the entire year I had to plan my event. She offered great insight and experience that I needed to make decisions (considering I was my own planner) and was so patient with all of my questions. Tracy and her team were so awesome. They were able to accommodate all of our requests (we had a few extra tables for a memorial table, photos, and games) and her team was attentive to us the whole night. The venue itself is beautiful. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was, especially the Breezeway where we had our ceremony. They also commented on how great the food was. The big hits were the pupus (spicy ahi maki and potstickers), the pork loin (in a delicious Brie sauce) and the mashed potatoes. As a bride, I was very happy for how great the staff treated us. They save us some pupus, and plated our meals for us, then they made us to go boxes!! We didn't get to eat much on that day, so being able to have some a few days later was special for us. Amongst everything else, considering the prices in 2024 for weddings, this place was very affordable. We could not have chosen a better venue for our fairytale wedding.

    Beautiful course conditions

We had an amazing time at Kapolei during our visit to Oahu. The course was better than expected, with lush fairways, pure greens and a water features that were trying to steal my ball. We had lunch and got to meet Chef Meghan. That team delivers great food and made us feel very special. Golf shop was recently remodeled, and it has everything you would need or want. Outside staff was super helpful! I appreciate their tips. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

The lights are on because they cannot see. They should not be working this early and disrupting the neighborhood!

The lawn care guys are here again at 6am and talking loudly! So inconsiderate to my family, visitors, and neighbors! Since they want to start mowing at 6am, they should change it to 6pm, now that the sun goes down early! I've complained many times. The state of Hawaii stated they are not to start until there is light! Not only that, the weeds around the gold course are not controlled. Look closer by the main road across Walmart! By Par 5! I would highly recommend other golf courses if you want beautiful scenery and respected employees/ supervisors! RIDICULOUS! I'm ready to call the news so they can cover the rules of doing landscape this early in the am. FRUSTRATED!

Great course no wonder the LPGA has the Lotte here! First time to play. What a great course and conditions. Slight breeze and about 81. The staff are excellent very professional and courteous. And they s is a public course!!! Of course the green fees are Kama Aina at $75 weekday and $85 weekend. Rate of play is great!!!

Had a wonderful Mother's brunch here, 2nd year in a roll now. Seafood was amazing...King crab, handroll sushi, oysters etc...can't wait for next year! Was hoping to see bread pudding there but sadly no. Family enjoyed the little tarts they had though

He is knowledgeable (graduate of the Golf Academy of America ) and individualizes his teaching in a way that I can understand and remember by using analogies and props. Andrew teaches both at the driving range and putting green. His feedback is always helpful and on point. I learn something new with each lesson and have seen improvements with my golf swing. His lessons are enjoyable and he makes golf fun. Other golfers have also approached me after my lesson to request Andrew's contact information. That's how good he is!

Prior to my golfing hiatus, I had taken quite a few lessons over the span of a year. My best friend was looking at getting into the sport, so I suggested that she take lessons to build a good foundation for her game. Unfortunately, it was difficult for me to find openings for the golf coach that I previously worked with due to his popularity. I had been using the driving range at Bay View to improve my game. It was there that I casually met Andrew Ka-Ne. I explained that I was looking for a golf coach and talked story with him to get a feel for his overall golf and coaching philosophies. We exchanged contact info and he texted me about his rates and availability. Andrew has the best hourly rates in Hawaii, and provides more instruction and support than other coaches charging double his rates. Simply put, Andrew is an excellent coach and his rates do not accurately reflect the value he provides. Andrew's golf philosophy is a nice blend of old and modern swing theory, supplemented by a strong integration of cutting edge golf technology (i.e. FlightScope Mevo+, swing cameras) and swing aides (i.e. wrist angle straps, alignment tools, ball striking tools, weight transfer board, etc.). Golf as a whole has significantly changed since the time I took lessons and, unlike other coaches, Andrew's view of the game is not stuck in the 1990s, 2000s, or 2010s. After sitting through a few of his lessons with my best friend and seeing her improve significantly, I was convinced that Andrew has a lot to offer. He is knowledgeable and encouraging and he has a very keen eye for spotting problematic swing mechanics. Andrew is very good at designing various drills to accomplish the same thing. He told me that every student learns differently, and it is about teaching in a way that clicks with the student's brain. Many other coaches are rigid in their approach and force their students into swing mechanics that mimic the touring pros (i.e. wrist angle must be exactly X degrees, rotation must be exactly X amount, spine angle must match [insert name] tour pro, etc.). This is not Andrew. He understands that people are built differently and assists his students with creating the most efficient swing within their own physical capabilities and utilizing their personal strengths. One of the things that I admire the most about Andrew is his commitment and dedication to golf. He will be around for decades to come, which is one of the main things I weighed when looking for a coach. Ideally, you want your coach to be available as you continue on your golf journey. This is especially helpful if you hit a plateau or see your scores flattening out. At that point, it is crucial to have a coach that can provide a series of "refresher" lessons to get you back on track. Overall, I think that Andrew has the most comprehensive approach to improving his students' games, and he genuinely cares about the achievement of his students. Without a doubt, Andrew goes above and beyond and exceeds all expectations.

As luck would have it, the person who reached out and was available at the time was the head PGA instructor Oliver. I was a little unprepared (no clubs, no gloves), but Oliver was very much go with the flow and was able to accomodate me. He asked me what I wanted to work on, and that's exactly what we did. I improved immensely, because Oliver was able to quickly diagnose the main problems with my swing and explain in an uncomplicated way (without too many "swing thoughts"). I'm excited to go home and practice/implement the changes to my swing.

From other reviews I've read it seems like he has a habit of ripping people off. Shame on him! Especially in Hawaii where the golf community is so tight knit!

They were running a special for $225/player (normally $275) with a 10-day advanced booking. They need a credit card to hold the reservation and you pay upon arrival. We had a 10:50 tee time and everything ran on time and check-in was smooth. Once checked-in, you'll present your receipt to the staffer who will give you a small bucket of balls. They took our clubs at the parking lot stand and placed the clubs on our cart. We grabbed a few clubs and walked over to the grass range, which was in decent shape. The course is great for all skill levels because it's pretty wide open and very well manicured. The rough is cut down pretty low so even if you miss the fairway, you still gotta shot at it. Playing the blues, the course is pretty long but manageable. The greens were in great shape and bunkers were great looking, although luckily I didn't have to play out of any of them. While it's a well maintained course, I thought the layout was kinda boring and predictable. Lots of good views and photo ops around the course, although the course has minimal ocean views. We had some vouchers from our hotel which we could use at the pro shop but not the snack bar. We ended up with a couple of bag tags, ball markers and a logo ball (gift set) which they engrave your name in the bag tag which is pretty cool for $20 for everything. The rest of the pro shop is pretty pricey though. Overall, glad we got to play it. I think the price point is what would keep me from playing again, but it's hard to beat when it's less than 5 minutes from our hotel. We got paired with a great couple, shout out Chuck and Cindy who were also visiting. It made for a memorable and fun day out on the course.
