Wish Yelp would let us leave half-star reviews, this place is a 3.5 star for its amenities, and by…read morethat I mean the restaurant that was reserved for a baby shower that I attended (the next day I went to a 100-yr old birthday party at Oahu Country Club, which was a 5- star review). I don't golf, so this review is only for the restaurant/buffet/venue. The parking lot closer to the restaurant has a limited amount of stalls, so I was glad I arrived on-time (and not 'casual' time), I got one of the two empty stalls by the tennis court and some of my friends had to park in a farther lot off to left of the restaurant. Parking is free. The restaurant venue was nice, mostly open-air, including the buffet, which I found a little dismaying with all the flies making a bee-line for the uncovered stuff. The food was one of the most disappointing things I have encountered - beef stew, beef with eggplant and some kind of chicken. Rice was a bit hard because it was left uncovered and dried out pretty quick. Salad looked like it came straight out of the bag. New England Clam Chowder was congealed and flavorless so I had to ask for salt. I don't eat meat or raw fish (they had poke) so I had to rely on salad, clam chowder and rice, which I normally would not mind (I love clam chowder), but the chowder was pretty bad, don't think I had buffet food at a golf course this sub-standard before. Desserts were a lot better; haupia, cake slices and small cheesecakes. The women's bathroom was air conditioned! Plus for that! The venue was just OK, the sound system in there was awful. Not sure if people hosting the event needed to bring their own sound systems or if it belonged to the golf course, but if it was owned by the golf course, they better improve on that! I could not rate this place a 4-star after going to the 5-star Oahu Country Club the next day.

A lot goes into keeping the greens, and courses on Oahu, from having either being overly soaked, out or the opposite, becoming brittle and difficult to manage while playing golf. The fairways and scenery were really green and beautiful, for the full 18 holes. Upon arrival, the parking lot is semi covered by solar panels, and as you pull in, easy to navigate towards the clubhouse and proshop. Several options for hats and a few visors to choose from. Clothing and accessories are very affordable as well. The dining area served pretty good food. I was here for a tournament, so the food on the course was supplied, and also delicious, but I am not sure by whom. Friendly and helpful proshop staff as well! The carts were equipped with electronic GPS and never had any issues. I can't wait to play this public course again!

Pro shop has a good assortment of apparel and equipment. No practice driving range. Only downside here is the incredibly loud noise levels from the adjacent HNL airport (the arriving aircraft literally are just a hundred feet overhead on some sections of the golf course) and the adjacent military base which was having constant practice automatic weapon fire drills during my entire 4.5 hour golf game. We play winter rules at Westloch as they're trying to repair many areas of play. I'm glad they have water jugs out there. That helps. Check in is always friendly and fast. Glad they also have the The kine" restaurant if you arrive early enough. The ladies Tee box is a big advantage for the ladies so I'm sure women rather this muni than all the others. All in all, you get what you pay for at a municipal golf course. They're worse off now than 5-10-15 years ago is my feeling but maybe I'm just grumpier now that I'm old and my memory isn't what it use to be. It one of my wife's favorite courses. Maybe that too should tell ya something?

Most fairways are dirt and mud. All good but don't charge that much money for such a junk course. Other municipal courses better and several other courses at very similar price way better than this. Nice little course, not the best of greens but playable. No traps, no water so you can concentrate on making good contact. For the most part the areas around the greens are decent. Easy walk and you only need a handful of clubs, a couple tees and a ball. Pretty hard to lose one here. Would be fun for even non-golfers. Only challenging part is getting on base!

Hickam Par 3 is a great little course for practicing your short game and just enjoying being…read moreoutside. This course is located on Base Pearl Harbor Hickam and requires base access. The green fees are charged based on your military pay grade. This is an easy course to walk and play. It is a short course and you really don't have to carry all your clubs or a big golf bag, you really might only need 4 clubs. Not alot of people playing this course so it is great if you are learning and need some extra time. You wont be rushed and if you are the people are ok with playing through. They have a small pro shop that sells some clubs, balls, hat's, and other golf equipment at pretty good prices. They service is outstanding. Also in the area is a small bar with great service and a pretty good selection of drinks. The ladies are very nice and helpful. Lots of T.Vs so you won't miss the game. They have dive bar prices.

Never thought I'd enjoy virtual golf as much as I do now…read more Last year, I signed up for a membership because I used to go to the driving range 2-3 times a week and play on the course every other week. With how much driving range prices have increased over the years, the membership has actually helped me save money each month. Being able to play 18 holes twice a week on the simulator alone makes it worth every penny. The Golfzon simulator is also the best one I've tried compared to other sims. One feature I really enjoy is being able to track my stats and review my swing analysis videos directly in the Golfzon app on my phone -- something I can't get at a regular driving range. I also enjoy the flexibility of having private late-night sessions after a long day at work. It's a great alternative to the gym and a fun way to switch things up. Bringing friends to play in the virtual league has been a blast too. On top of that, the owner, Anant, is very welcoming and accommodating. The members I've met are all different skill levels, and everyone has been super friendly and cool. This is definitely the golfing community I've been looking for.

I love that you get the whole place to yourself, the room is huge and there's a lot of things to do aside from the simulator itself. Entertainment- putting area, 2 arcade games, karaoke, cards, 2 smart tvs. Food/comfort- tables, extra chairs, 2 comfy sofas, refrigerator, microwave (can bring your own drinks and food) Parking is easy to find, we just park by Hawai'i USA and take the elevator up. Kahi is an easygoing guy and made everything simple to understand when teaching us about how to use the simulator. We liked it so much that we signed up for membership that day. We're here maybe like once a week. It's also kid friendly! We have a 1 and 4 yr old that we bring sometimes. We always book the 2hr reservation and that gets us through an 18hole course (2 players) and time for driving range or parts of another course after. They also have an app connected with the simulator that records your swing and gives you feedback on it. It records your scores on the courses too. Booking is also super easy! Communication with the owners is also really good, they respond pretty quickly. So far they've done an outstanding job. If you love to golf, but can't go out to the courses all the time then a membership here or even just visiting here to try it out is definitely a must!

Visiting and staying in the Ko Olina area, we knew we had to play one of the premier courses on the…read moreisland of Oahu. They were running a special for $225/player (normally $275) with a 10-day advanced booking. They need a credit card to hold the reservation and you pay upon arrival. We had a 10:50 tee time and everything ran on time and check-in was smooth. Once checked-in, you'll present your receipt to the staffer who will give you a small bucket of balls. They took our clubs at the parking lot stand and placed the clubs on our cart. We grabbed a few clubs and walked over to the grass range, which was in decent shape. The course is great for all skill levels because it's pretty wide open and very well manicured. The rough is cut down pretty low so even if you miss the fairway, you still gotta shot at it. Playing the blues, the course is pretty long but manageable. The greens were in great shape and bunkers were great looking, although luckily I didn't have to play out of any of them. While it's a well maintained course, I thought the layout was kinda boring and predictable. Lots of good views and photo ops around the course, although the course has minimal ocean views. We had some vouchers from our hotel which we could use at the pro shop but not the snack bar. We ended up with a couple of bag tags, ball markers and a logo ball (gift set) which they engrave your name in the bag tag which is pretty cool for $20 for everything. The rest of the pro shop is pretty pricey though. Overall, glad we got to play it. I think the price point is what would keep me from playing again, but it's hard to beat when it's less than 5 minutes from our hotel. We got paired with a great couple, shout out Chuck and Cindy who were also visiting. It made for a memorable and fun day out on the course.

All in all it's a course that is challenging and fun to play. There was some flooding on the 18th hole. And a couple of holes the tee boxes were moved and put together for repairs to part of the fairways. The best way to keep these municipal courses up and running is to patron them when you can. They also have a new restaurant there that has good food at reasonable prices. They are open until 6 pm.

He helped me become more competitive with friends and shed off a handful of strokes. Now it's about staying consistent and getting those reps in. He's great at explaining and helping you find a swing that works for your body. As with anything you'll get out of it what you put into it.
