This place is a fraud. Came here and asked for a mullet with a taper. The Hispanic barber with the beard ended up cutting off my mullet to one inch and took off the top of my hair. He also had a attitude, I showed him a video as a example of the cut and he said to me "don't show me a video, I cut hair my way I don't cut hair like the video". Not professional at all, don't come hair if you got hair more then 3 inches. The barbers will mess you up. He did end up giving a good fade/taper tho. btw he was also pulling on my hair with a hair brush because they will tangled, he pulled out the hair from the scalp just because it was tangled. Today was a great day to take a day off from work and explore SOHO. Brooklynites like me usually take the fast train to midtown, UWS and UES... and thus, we rarely stroll these SOHO charming streets. I needed a haircut, and wanted a good one. I searched Yelp for "best barber NYC." Lo and behold, Barbers Point came up. I went there today, and David gave me an amazing haircut AND a meticulous shave. Other reviewers have applauded Barbers Point for their ability to do "fades." Yup. David [in this case] was up to the task and made me look great with a "zero skin fade." Most important, as others have said, these guys listen carefully, and do exactly what I ask... and then take control in their expert way, which means I was able to sit back, relax, and let them work their wonders. I have been majorly struggling to find a decent barber...location to work/home, price, and QUALITY have all been tough. I work around soho and needed a haircut extremely bad and have been putting it off due to horrible experiences the last few times at barbers I've found on here. This spot is 5 stars for a reason. This same street has about 3-4 (i think) different barbers but figured I would just go here due to reviews. I get a 1 on top to a skin fade (super simple, and other places kept giving me just 1 all the way around which was so annoying) the guys in the shop were friendly all talking to me and relishing about my horrible past barber experiences which added the pressure to do good on this one (haha jk...kinda) but i ACTUALLY got a 1 on top to a skin fade!! HALLELUJAH. all at a good price too. Thanks for hooking me up guys. I will actually be coming back here...unlike the other shops where I say I will return and never do. read more

This barbershop is a hidden gem - Josh does a great job and takes his time to make sure you are satisfied. I went in for a haircut and shave - both were done in a professional manner and even though it was a busy Saturday he took his time. I am one of the pickiest when it comes to finding a really good barber. I will research place after place to find someone who just "gets it." I decided to take a chance and walked in to his shop to get a haircut. I have to say that Josh, well, he gets it. He knew exactly what I meant when I went into detail about what I wanted. He asked for photo references and kept checking to make sure I felt good the whole way through. This may seem tedious and unnecessary, but when you're getting your hair cut for the first time by a barber you don't know...this stuff really helps. Josh does a damn good job and for half of what I've paid at other shops around the area. He's still pretty new on the block (3-4 months at location) so he was able to fit me into his schedule as a walk-in. It's only a matter of time before this guy starts getting fully booked up, so I'd definitely recommend checking him out. read more

Heard about this place by a trustworthy friend, and yeah it's true, Barbers Point is the new wave! Their signature haircut had me regret going to different barbershops this whole time. Complimentary coffee, beer, and personal water bottles were all given by the owner Josh, with a on the house hot towel and hot neck shaves.... Keep in mind this is soho people! People pay 60-120$ for these services around this area but no Barbers Point is literally only 26$! Got to say if you do not try this place it is certainly your loss. read more

I have tried several barbers in downtown manhattan and even on long island but nothing compares with them. Josh, respectful and puts his clients first. Takes his time on the haircut and fully understands the different types of hair that we all have and will satisfy you to your needs, they understand the newest trends so if you are trying to go for a new look, no worries. Bring a picture in and they will make sure you leave happy. Now lets talk about the beard, for all you men out there that want to have a clean sharp beard that will stand out, Barbers Point have their own way of making it on point, they use a straight edge blade to line up the beard, and never push the beard like down, they keep it the way you want it. Shape Ups, Beard trims, Beard shapeups, clean shave, you name it.. Everything has a crisp to it. Prices are fitting. A regular cut is $26 and the cut is well worth it. You will not leave dissatisfied. The atmosphere of the barbershop overall is clean, spacious, and they have comfortable black couches for the clients to wait on. I take a look at everything when i walk in somewhere and expect a clean environment, and they even have a plug nearby to charge up your mobile devices. Decent spot, the guys seem pretty laid back. I came in late this evening about an hour before close to get a fade on my undercut. I'd called ahead to check on their pricing since my hair was already pretty short and only shaved on one side of my head plus the nape. The guy on the phones quoted me $16 but said I'd need to come in to let them get a look to confirm. When I arrived, there was only one other customer being serviced, so I was seated immediately. The workstation could have used a little cleaning up as there was a lot of hair left over from a previous customer -- he didn't so much clean the equipment as kind of brush it off when I sat but perhaps we did a more thorough sanitizing before I came in. When I sat down, the barber asked me how short I wanted to go: 1.0, 0.5, or skin. I asked for a fade at 0.5, and he got right to work while chatting briefly about how more women are getting undercuts nowadays. After he finished, he showed me the result in the mirror, and the shave looked nice but didn't fade out. I asked him to take it a bit more to skin near the hairline, and he agreed then began fading it as requested. When he was finished, he showed me the mirror again, and it looked better. The entire time I was in the chair lasted about 15-20 minutes. To finish up, he brushed a bit of hair off my ears, then took me to check out. He then told me it would be $30 for the cut + $2 surcharge for using a card -- more than I was expecting, but I took it on the chin. All in all, the guys seemed nice, but I'll probably go somewhere a bit cheaper in the future. I get a pretty good job done at home as it is. read more
