We recently hired Barbie to shoot our wedding up in Seattle (we live in SF, but are native Seattleites) and could not have been happier with our choice. Barbie is freaking phenomenal. If there were eleventy stars available, she'd get them all. She's FUN, professional, kickass, and besides all that, is a great photographer. We looked at a lot of websites/portfolios and though some others were cheaper, we kept coming back to her. There's seriously something about her eye that other photographers do not have.. And she gave us a quick couple of pics for putting on Facebook for people who've been asking and to satisfy us too. Sweet! We wanted a few special landmarks of Seattle since we're relocating to the UK this month and Barbie not only was down w/ it, but was super excited - the Wallingford Dick's, the Troll, the far west corner of Kerry Park - and during the drive, we randomly drove by an elderly couple's house fully decked out for Halloween on overdrive - and we stopped to ask if we could take pics there and they were ecstatic. Barbie was a very good sport when the husband tried to give her 'advice' on where to shoot and how for the perfect pictures. Adorable. At one point, my amazing but treacherous 4 in heels and my nature to be clumsy wiped out my ankle when heading back to the car - kind of badly. I survived, nothing broken or sprained, but I was bleeding and swelling fast. Barbie and her asst swiftly maneuvered bandaids and pain meds (and my flats) and were ever so gentle and sweet. I was bruised, but mostly good as new by the time we arrived at the venue. Once at the wedding, I don't even think I got to tell her thank you before I had to settle myself quickly. Our guests began arriving earlier than I thought and I ended up going person to person all night. We didn't get the traditional family pics til the end and then not that many - however, we really wanted candids mostly anyway and Barbie and Laura rocked it all night. It seemed effortless and everyone who talked to them had great things to say about them. She's so good, we'd like to know her forever and hope she'll have us as friends too, not just our favorite photographer - so book this woman like yesterday. read more

I recently had family photos and head shots taken by Barbie. We had a great experience (she is wonderful with children) and she made us completely comfortable. She knew of my phobia about having my head shot taken and it didn't phase her at all. I was almost afraid to tell her that i was self conscious for fear she may act differently...but she completely understood and made me feel comfortable and used humor to get me through it. Ha! First of all...Barbie is an amazing person. That's why she is good at what she does. My mom came into town and we wanted to get the fam together as it's few and far between for us to see each other. My moms from the old school and is pretty traditional. I was worried as I wanted candid shots and thought mommy dearest would disapprove. She fell in love with the way Barbie worked with all of us. 8 of us total...and a dog. She responded quickly and efficiently to my request for services and then suggested locations. She showed up on time and constantly worked us through the process. AMAZING! Not even exaggerating. We hired Barbie for our engagement shoot, wedding, and trash the dress. Right off the bat she was extremely personable and engaging. Her personality makes you feel like you've been friends forever! For our engagement shoot, my husband was at first hesitant to do the shoot. He was extremely nervous to be infront of the camera. However, once we met Barbie she easily convinced him that this would be a fun time! And oh boy, a fun time you ask...did we ever. The pictures are stunning and we were so excited to have her shoot our wedding. For our wedding, we were far from disappointed! She did a spectacular job and even posted two pictures on facebook about 5 hours after the wedding! She made everyone in our wedding party comfortable. And even though my husband and myself are not naturally photogenic - you can't tell that from the pictures! Miss Hull ruined this experience for me. I have never been so insulted. It was our special day and we hired miss Hull to do our Wedding Pictures. When we sat down and did the proof-before-the-print, we where happy, but when we received the pictures it looks like someone spilled coffee on it. Its been paid paid for, a done deal . I left several messages and Vera Stokes Hull returned my call. She was very helpful. but demanded more cash. I was upset, but it is our special day and Miss Hull took time off for her own wedding this year so i ended up giving her sister $200.00 cash. She NEVER re-print the pictures . Our pictures came out great but when it came to the finance part a big thumbs down. Our check was held onto for over three months following the wedding before it was cashed. With all the hoopla around our wedding we did not notice it hadn't been cashed. As a business person, you don't hold onto a check for thousands of dollars for three months. My husband and I were lucky enough to find her just one month before our September 2013 wedding, and even luckier that she was available (our wedding was on a Friday, so that helped).
