What an unique experience. The servers and chef were patient and friendly. They explained everything to us patiently. The octopus is a must and so is the cod liver. The place is small so definitely make reservation!

This spot is a gem. It is a former bakery turned into a raw bar. They have a huge menu of items and a lot of great drinks. There is a large outdoor patio area which is great too. The location is next to Baba. We came in before dinner at Baba but you could easily hang out here the entire night. Service was great. You can tell they really care about the seafood. Check out my photos.

We really enjoyed eating at Barbouni, the tinned seafood concept brought by Baba on Central. We've eaten tinned seafood before while traveling in Europe, it's particularly popular in Portugal, and we love it. I think there's a huge misconception about tinned food, especially seafood, it's regarded as low quality or something you only eat if you're on a budget but this couldn't be further from the truth (just take a look at the prices Barbouni lists for some of their higher end or more "exotic" items). The medium in which each sea critter is brined or prepared varies and the flavors are so unique to each one. We had four different types of seafood including anchovies, razor clams, squid in black ink and wild cockles. These are served in their original container alongside some accompaniments such as butter, pickled onions, salt, parsley, lemon and toasted bread. The razor clams were definitely a favorite of mine and my husband loved the squid. We also decided to try a couple of their fresh items since they're also an oyster, caviar and fresh seafood bar. We had a couple of their prawns which were very good. Their wine list offers several options including some wines that you may not see at any other restaurant because they come from less popular wine countries. The seafood bar does not take reservations and the space is limited.

What a discovery this is! A next level experience and so fortunate to have this in St. Pete. At first I frowned on the idea of eating tinned seafood. And then did a 180 when I tried it! What's nice is they do also serve a selection of freshly prepared raw bar seafood jic you don't wish to try it. On that side of the menu, we chose the delicious white anchovies, and the most ah-mazing shrimp crudo that was sooo delicious. It was like buttah...and had a nice middle eastern touch to it. We also enjoyed three tins. Mind you these are served with toast and accompaniments...butter, salts, pickled onion, parsley, lemon, and to-die-for Israeli hot sauce. YUM. We mixed and matched with smoked sardines, squid in ink, and rainbow trout jerky. Add in a glass of Portuguese white wine and a house Baba cocktail, and it all made for a wonderful "we're kind of in Europe vibe" with outstanding service as well. It's a super quaint spot attached to Baba, and also has its own adorable patio to enjoy al fresco dining as well!

We came in and had a really great time, kind of like a pre-dinner experience. The location of Barbouni is on the side of the building (BABA) and is located in ehat used to be their Bakery. The oyster bar is small and intimate and seats about 12 people, so I would recommend that you make a reservation. They are using Resy. The inside is so cute, and there are large open windows overlooking the large patios. The menu is small, but there is enough on it. They have raw oysters, canned fish like sardines (which we had), and there are a few entrées as well. They also have a full bar. The items we had were all very delicious. The Hamachi Crudo was so very different from any that I had. The fish was very meaty, almost, and they gave you a decent amount. We also had the sardines with Sumac butter. They were very, very salty and good. Since I am a Celiac, I did not have them with bread, but I was given some Cape Cod potato chips with them (thanks). This was a great experience, and I had a lot of fun trying new things. I highly recommend it!

    Crudo

Barbouni was amazing. Felt like we were transported to the Mediterranean for a few hours. The crudo was so fresh. Cocktails were delicious. Great Mediterranean wine selection. And the tinned fish concept is so fun and the ones we had were jaw droppingly good. To top it all off the staff was so friendly and helpful and fun. Sit at the bar and you will love it.

Beautiful murals and quirky decor are located throughout this outdoor restaurant. They have a gorgeous bar inside by the bathrooms if you need to get out of the heat. This is a regular spot of my friends so I was in no way surprised at how good the food was. The shrimp was fresh, crunchy shrimp and the mullets seasons is perfection. Cocktails are above average and reasonably priced. Parking can be a beast though!

The jalapeño, in particular, provided a pleasant kick that elevated the dish nicely. Tedie and I both ordered the grouper tacos. The restaurant keeps things simple, offering each fish prepared in only three different styles. Tedie chose the "Florida Man" preparation (broiled), while I selected the "Dirté."(fried) The fish appeared to be either red or gag grouper. Interestingly, she preferred mine, while I found myself enjoying hers a bit more. The cucumber spaghetti side was refreshing, though I think it could benefit from a bolder flavor profile. It's something I'll likely recreate at home with a bit more seasoning. The Cajun fries were well-executed and made for a satisfying accompaniment. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try and would recommend it to others. In terms of value for the money, I'd rate it a solid 7 out of 10.

Trophy Fish, located in the Art District of St. Pete, did not disappoint! Nautical-inspired ambiance gives off island vibes from the fresh seafood and friendly service. To kick off the evening, I ordered the fried street corn, which was a standout appetizer. It had the perfect balance of crispy, savory, and a hint of sweetness--definitely something I'd order again. As an entree, I had the fresh catch of the day, flounder nuggets, and they were absolutely delicious--lightly fried, perfectly seasoned, and incredibly fresh with every bite. Overall, the food was fresh and flavorful, paired with a laid-back vibe - I'll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu!

Completely outdoor space with bar, small tables, and high tops for small to medium groups! Casual, beachy vibe, with umbrellas and tastefully modern beach decor. Bartender was incredibly friendly, offered wonderful recommendations, and remembered my name throughout my stay! Counter service food, separate from the bar. Fun seafood apps and an intentional mains menu make this a great spot for a light dinner or apps and drinks! I had the daily catch, which was amberjack, citrus rub, with slaw and taters. It was a lovely meal with flaky fish, tangy slaw, and decadent potatoes! Good value for the cost! Had the Gone Fishing to drink, which came served in a themed bobber glass. Rum-forward without being too boozy, balanced with sweetness and nuance from the tea. Surprisingly elevated for a beach bar vibe! Would absolutely recommend! Top it all off with some chill live music and you have the perfect evening for this guy! :)

What we got: *Mango Meltdown - A frozen drink of mango and strawberry flavors, so refreshing on a warm day at a waterfront restaurant! *Category 5 Crab Tots - neither of us really eat tater tots, but this menu item sounded too good to pass up. I'm glad we went with it because it was hearty and flavorful with all the tots, cheese, and lots of crab! *Crab Cakes - really good crab cakes, with plenty of crab. *Twisted Cauliflower - our server warned us these would be spicy, but we were okay with that. They definitely had a kick from thai sauce and hot honey, but nothing that made it uncomfortable to eat, the right amount of spice. We had ours grilled, and enjoyed every bite. Needless to say, we ordered a fantastic meal of appetizers to split while enjoying the waterfront view on a beautiful day. If you are in the area, I highly recommend!
