    Lobster ceviche
    Alison C.

Wow, I am so grateful to have found this gem! When we happened to go they had a ton of lobster dishes on special which meant it was perfect timing for us. We got the lobster ceviche which was absolutely delish and the star of the meal. The pricing is so reasonable and the size of lobster tail was generous. The fish in the ceviche is fresh and the sauce was flavorful and paired nicely. The conchas à la parmesana were very tasty too. They have a good selection of drinks, also reasonably priced. Mario was our server who is very fun, awesome recommendations and attentive. I can't wait to go back to Aji!

**** Review 168 **** Came here as a birthday surprise. The restaurant is definitely a trendy, downtown St. Pete type of place. The staff was really nice and attentive. Food portions were good, and food was really good. Being a trendy place, drinks were on the higher end of prices. Same with the food, but it was definitely worth the price. If you like Peruvian food, and are looking for a good time with friends then this might be a place you want to try. Not really an intimate place, since there's a lot of tables and can get a little loud.

    Amazing!!

We spent a lovely happy hour enjoying this beautiful spot. Great drinks and ceviche was amazing. Menu is Peruvian fusion. Service was good and definitely be back for more.

Decided to check out this spot and it was good. We had great service from Mario, he was so kind. The food was good, I didn't expect my plate to be so.. small. For $20 it's not really worth it. However the risotto was phenomenal and definitely worth the plate size! I think this spot was good, probably even better bc we used Groupon. And the dining area was very dark, but quaint. You still definitely gotta give it a try

Had the Popular ceviche and it was awesome! Jalea - fried seafood, didn't want to get fried but sounded like the best option at the time. It was a big portion and tasty but wished there was a grilled or baked version instead. Service was swell. Place felt new and fresh. Like the setup in there. Drinks were fabulous. Would go back again

My friends and I sat at the bar. Great service from the bartender, he was very knowledgeable about the menu. We loved the decor and interesting Peruvian art. I ordered the asian salmon dish with fried rice and noodles. Highly recommend. Salmon was glazed in a sweet bbq sauce. My friend got a fish dish with coconut cream. She really enjoyed it too. We shared the fried plantains. We tried 3 different cocktails. Mine was the andres electric (pisco, mezcal, and a licorice liquor) served chilled in a martini glass. I really enjoyed all the flavors. My friend liked her drink too it was a purple margarita. She got another drink that was served with a flaming side car.

I'll start with a confession: I'm not the ideal person to judge a ceviche restaurant. I'll eat ceviche, sure, but I'm never the one ordering it. So this review is less "ceviche connoisseur" and more "what I liked about it." Ambiance: Absolutely gorgeous. Chic, modern, and stylish- something I'd expect in one of the nicer hotels on the Vegas strip. Service: Friendly and attentive, but I really wish the staff offered a bit more detail about the dishes. I'm not well-versed in Peruvian cuisine, and while I'm all for trying new things, I appreciate when the team helps guide the experience beyond: "It's delicious," "It's tasty," or "It's very popular." A little culinary storytelling goes a long way. Food: * Anticuchero - A mixed seafood ceviche plate with grilled octopus. As someone with limited ceviche experience, I still found it very good. * Tampa Pabla Y Fuego - A mixed grilled platter featuring chicken, steak, chorizo, and beef heart. Solid flavors all around, though the chicken leaned a bit dry for my taste. * Arroz Chaufa - My favorite of the night. Peruvian-style fried rice that was flavorful, comforting, and honestly the dish I wish we had started with. Perfect balance, great texture, and the highlight of the entire meal. * Tres Leches with Lucuma - A shared dessert that we would absolutely get again. Light, creamy, and a great finish. Only when I was leaving did I notice they also offer sushi and pasta--so clearly I've only scratched the surface of this menu. For now, consider this a very honest 4-star first impression, with a return visit guaranteed. Looking forward to trying more next time.

The food was delicious and service was great. We went during Happy Hour (3-6pm) and drinks were BOGO. Great restaurant, seats weren't too close so it was comfortable.

Delicious Peruvian cuisine in downtown St Pete. Great Pisco Sours and Chilcanos. Excellent service! Came with group and we tried multiple dishes.

My husband and I went here on a recent date night. Cute place with good vibes. The menu is extensive. The scallop appetizer was heavy with the lime to the point of being over powering. My husband got the fried rice which was very flavorful and enjoyable. I had a noodle dish that was equally delicious. The service wasn't great as our service kept disappearing and not checking in for any needs. Would try again as the entrees were good and the location is nice.

The food here exceeded our expectations! We tried it out because we walked by and we definitely will be going back!

One of the best meals I've ever had!! I didn't love the drinks but they were pretty. We got fried ceviche balls, sushi that the bartender recommended and then one of the entrees. Service was great even though we were there on a busy New Years Eve night. It was a lively atmosphere and walking in without a reservation we were lucky enough to secure a spot at the bar. Would definitely come back!!

My niece took me to a peruvian restaurant in Tampa, while I was visiting her. She loves this restaurant and I couldn't argue with her. This peruvian food is amazing, the causa was insane. The food is very fresh and delicious. As a Peruvian American this restaurant was well worth it to visit. I will stop by again on my next trip to Tampa. Keep up the good work and thank you to our server Reina.

Truly Unforgettable Culinary Journey at Red Thread…read more Our dinner at Red Thread was nothing short of spectacular -- a five-star experience from the moment we stepped through the door until the final sip of our after-dinner drink. We visited to celebrate a milestone birthday, and the team not only met but exceeded every expectation, weaving subtle, thoughtful surprises into the evening that made us feel truly special. The atmosphere is opulent yet completely approachable -- warm, intimate, and alive with cultural richness. You can feel the intention behind every detail: the plush banquettes adorned with intricately embroidered throw pillows, the soft glow of lantern-style lighting, and the perfectly placed gold-tipped cocktail picks that make even the smallest moment feel curated. It's elegant without pretense, like being welcomed into a beautifully kept secret along the Silk Road. Service was led by Katie and Elijah, who were nothing short of exceptional. Their warmth, precision, and deep knowledge of both the menu and the restaurant's rich aesthetic elevated the entire evening. They guided us with confidence, shared stories behind the dishes, and ensured every need was met before we even voiced it. Now, the food -- where do we begin? Red Thread delivers flavors that are bold, layered, and deeply authentic. We started with the spread and small bites platter, and it was immediately clear we were in for something extraordinary. The tabbouleh was bright and herb-forward, with finely chopped parsley, tomato, and bulgur kissed by lemon -- a perfect balance of freshness and zing. The falafel were golden-crisp on the outside, tender within, and served with a bright mint yogurt. So delish! For our mains: the salmon, seasoned with fragrant za'atar and resting atop creamy spanakorizo (spinach and rice), was cooked to buttery perfection. The addition of crumbled feta and a cooling lemon yogurt sauce brought a bright, tangy contrast that elevated every bite. The pork chop, served with tri-color potatoes and glazed in a rich port beurre rouge with rosemary and a whisper of parmesan, was magnificent -- juicy, deeply savory, and beautifully seared. And the beef short rib? Unbelievably tender, with a warm curry base, sweet-spicy melon kimchi, and saffron rice that perfumed the air. The cardamom chèvre melted into the mix, adding a creamy, floral depth that was nothing short of inspired. Every dish told a story -- of distant lands, ancient trade routes, and a chef who clearly treats spice like sacred heirloom. To know these flavors are crafted with spices imported directly from the regions that inspired them explains the unmatched authenticity in every bite. Red Thread stands alone in St. Petersburg -- not just in flavor, but in feeling. We'll be back -- no question -- to explore their brunch and dive deeper into this beautiful narrative they've created on a plate. To everyone reading: This is the kind of restaurant that deserves to be discovered, celebrated, and filled to capacity every single night. Go. Taste. Feel. Red Thread isn't just dinner -- it's a journey. And it's not to be missed.

Decor is cool. Had the dip trio and enjoyed. Good drinks. Google says it opens at 2, but it didn't.read more

The concepts are similar, but not quite the same. Bar Mezzo is more cocktail forward, although it houses some of the same cocktails featured at intermezzo, including espresso based cocktails. It has one of the few espresso martinis in town that feature fresh brewed espresso. One of the best things about this bar is that it focuses on the art of cocktail making and features the bartenders as artisans. Every employee is the epitome of top of the line hospitality. Each cocktail on the menu is unique and you won't find it replicated locally. The menu is seasonal, so you can always try something new. It's the kind of place where you can say to the bartender "I'm feeling something gin based, maybe something blackberry flavored" and they will make you a unique cocktail based on what you're feeling, even if you don't know exactly what you want. During the month of December, they hold "miracle at mezzo"- a Christmas themed pop-up that was previously hosted at intermezzo. During the cooler months, weekends and during the Christmas popup, it's gets extremely crowded, sometimes forming a line out the door.
