I visited Aji Ceviche in St. Pete and really enjoyed the experience. The restaurant itself is very trendy, clean, and inviting. I ordered the Arroz con Pato, which features tender duck braised in a cilantro-beer sauce served over green rice, along with papa a la huancaina and criolla sauce. The rice was rich, flavorful, and had a nice level of spice to it. The creamy yellow sauce on the side was absolutely delicious and added a great balance to the dish. The portion was hearty and filling, making it a satisfying meal. My only critique is that I would have liked a bit more duck, as i feel the carb to protein ratio wasn't well balanced Overall, a very enjoyable meal in a beautiful space. Wow, I am so grateful to have found this gem! When we happened to go they had a ton of lobster dishes on special which meant it was perfect timing for us. We got the lobster ceviche which was absolutely delish and the star of the meal. The pricing is so reasonable and the size of lobster tail was generous. The fish in the ceviche is fresh and the sauce was flavorful and paired nicely. The conchas à la parmesana were very tasty too. They have a good selection of drinks, also reasonably priced. I ordered the asian salmon dish with fried rice and noodles. Highly recommend. Salmon was glazed in a sweet bbq sauce. My friend got a fish dish with coconut cream. She really enjoyed it too. As someone with limited ceviche experience, I still found it very good. * Tampa Pabla Y Fuego - A mixed grilled platter featuring chicken, steak, chorizo, and beef heart. Solid flavors all around, though the chicken leaned a bit dry for my taste. * Arroz Chaufa - My favorite of the night. Peruvian-style fried rice that was flavorful, comforting, and honestly the dish I wish we had started with. Perfect balance, great texture, and the highlight of the entire meal. * Tres Leches with Lucuma - A shared dessert that we would absolutely get again. Light, creamy, and a great finish. Only when I was leaving did I notice they also offer sushi and pasta--so clearly I've only scratched the surface of this menu. I had ceviche ahunado, which was presented beautifully with scallop shells and garnished with a plumeria blossom (think "lei" from Hawaii). The marinade was perfect. Not too acidic. My partner had ceviche podrosa, a smaller potion with avocado, marinated fish and garnished with a carnation. The sangria is delicious, by the way. My pulpo parrilla was sooo delicious. Each mouthful made me offer thanks to the octopus who gave his life for my sustenance. My partner had pescado a la macho, a lovely fish known as swai, a lovely white fish cooked in a savory criolla sauce. The service was leisurely. First off want to say the inside of this restaurant is beautifully done and the food and drinks I got were all pretty good. Really liked the ceviche as well that was the best part. Unfortunately the service me and my fiend received was a 1/10. We sat at the bar and were sharing a few dishes. The staff never cleared our plates after we finished each course. Even when the next course would come out they would just push our dirty dishes aside to make room for the new plates. We actually had to ask them to please take our empty plates so we could continue to eat the next course. Ordered a pisco sour cocktail right when I got there. They asked if I wanted a small cocktail or regular sized. I said regular. After about 20 minutes I asked the lady who took my order where it was and she said they will make it for you now. They then made it in the small cocktail glass and went on to try to charge me for the regular size. Fortunately they never bussed my empty glass by the time I paid so I was able to show them I actually only got the small. Overall disappointing experience and had nothing to do with the food or ambience of the place. read more

I have been there four times with groups since opening day. The food can be very good, although inconsistent since the same meal can be prepared differently on different days. What is really lacking are cloth napkins. A restaurant in this price range should have more than thin paper napkins when serving meals that can be pricy. The service is fine.
