Eggplants are a fairly common element in middle-eastern cooking, often sliced and grilled or roasted, sometimes battered, but often not. Sounded like a good idea? No, it was not.. What I got, instead of eggplant slices was just COLD baba ghanoush! Put on top of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a ladleful of rather runny tzatziki sauce, and what you ended up with was one COLD, SOGGY and WET mess inside a pita. It was dreadful, PLUS it made an unholy mess dripping all over everything! How can they call this an "eggplant pita" when it's just a cold baba ghanoush salad with runny dressing stuffed into a pita which can't handle that amount of liquid?
