    Patatas Bravas

A must-try in Washington, DC. The perfect place for a night out, date night, work dinner, etc. The staff are extremely attentive and kind. Our waiter was Diego, and he was such a great spirit. The tapas at this restaurant are the best thing in their menu. I highly recommend the meatballs, sheep's cheese and patatas bravas. If you are in DC, please give this spot a try.

Thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate and drank here. It is small plate style food so 4 of us ordered a bunch and shared. We have one friend with specific allergies which they were very accommodating of. My only negative is how loud it is and how crowded to other tables. It makes it very hard to have a conversation with those you're with. Wait staff were great. Would probably come back in the middle of the week when it is hopefully not as crowded.

I liked the food but the service was a bit interesting. Our waitress didn't come around with water or drinks for a long time especially after we were relocated to a different table. It was a bit overpriced for okay food. The ambiance was nice during happy hour.

White wine sangria, tasty and refreshing!

Went there last night for my birthday! Although the overall experience was good, there are reasons why I gave it 4 stars: Location: We visited the Logan circle location and parked in the garage. The entrance is right next to the restaurant, so very convenient ! First impression: VERY BUSY!!! We came on on a Saturday night and I had read the reviews about how busy it can get so I was sort of prepared in a sense. We had reservations for 7:00 and arrived on time, but waited an additional 30 minutes to be seated. There were quite a few people also waiting for a table. We were offered a chocolate truffle during our wait so that was nice ! Overall, we were greeted with a smile by everyone but the wait time could be improved somehow. Music is played throughout the night and it can get a bit loud. I wasn't bothered too much by this, but I can see how it can be a nuisance for some. Lights were dim as well with rustic decor. Tables are small and very close to one another, so be prepared to share your space with everyone there. Food/Service: Our server was wonderful! She greeted us right away with the biggest smile and checked on us throughout the night. Food came out quick! Which was nice too! We tried a few tapas: Charcuterie- Jamón Serrano, chorizo picante, manchego cheese. All very good! Whipped sheep's cheese with honey SO GOOD! Ham and cheese croquetas- Delicious! Patas bravas- Very tasty! Crispy and flavorful. Mussels- Yum! Full of flavor and a little spice. Scallop crudo- yummy, but could use a bit more acidity in my opinion, but still very good! Flank steak- presentation could've been better and we were expecting chimichurri with it. But it was still tasty. Dessert- We tried the Basque cheesecake with a beautiful happy birthday design on it and a candle. It was yummy ! White wine Sangria- Refreshing and tasty! I read that many people thought it had too little alcohol, but it was perfect for me. Overall, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the dishes. I will definitely come back and want to try the paella!

Cabra Romero cheese and duck prosciutto

Went spontaneously with my wife for memorial day and were lucky to grab a small barstool table. Obviously it was busy so it was pretty loud in there but that's just the trade off of eating out sometimes! We got a pitcher of the red sangria which was quite freaking yummy. For food, we got the chicken thigh (incredible, tender and smoky meat with a nice aji verde sauce) and broccolini (very good, stalks were a little tough but did not regret trying as it came with a yummy mustard-y dill-y sauce that I can't remember the name of). We also got the cabra romero cheese (best cheese ive ever had probably. creamy and herby with a goat's milk aftertaste.) and duck prosciutto (stupid good, we're both big fans of duck). The cheese and prosciutto paired insanely well together and I'll be thinking about that for a little while. We're excited to come back the next time we want a nice night out!

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time and I am so excited to finally write a review! My girlfriends and I had a lovely time visiting this intimate, cozy eatery in DC. We enjoyed sitting outdoor with the heated lamps. The food was delicious, no doubt the food was prepared with thoughtfulness and care. I would highly recommend the fried oyster mushroom tapa! I loved the sangria, highly recommend sharing a pitcher with friends! The one thing that can be improved is execution of plates. Initially, they only brought 1 plate, but it would have been nicer to have 3 plates brought forward to maintain the family style ambience with tapas

Don't hesitate. Try it out!! My family and I were looking for a place that were completely wheelchair accessible, delicious and nice , and we couldn't have picked a better spot! We made a reservation for a party of 10 prior to arriving, and they had everything ready in a heartbeat for us. We sat indoors, but I have to mention the outdoor area! It was gorgeous and they have those heating stands for nearly every table + some blankets for te cold. This would definitely have me coming back for the outdoor even later this season! The decoration and music in the indoor area is wonderful. Modern and fancy feel to it. The staff was so nice and they were fully bilingual too. Our waiter was really helpful with recommendations on portion sizes and amount of tapas to order for the table. The menu was great! Since we were such a large group we got so many tapas and they were all great! The Papas Bravas were crunch on the outside, the sauce was really flavorful and not too spicy. The octopus was perfectly cooked, the sweet and sour fig with chorizo was incredible. Another favorite were the whipped sheep cheese and the dates wrapped with bacon . Omg it was so good. All of it. You really can't go wrong with this place! The drinks were awesome too. We ordered white and red sangrias, and I think it's the first time I've ever liked a white sangria! I kid you not. Oh and if you still have room for dessert, we shared a flan and it was so creamy and good! I will definitely return! Don't hesitate. Try it out!

Great vibes from start to finish! The ambience was warm and inviting dim lighting, good music, and that perfect mix of energy where you can still talk without shouting. The music and overall atmosphere made it feel like a night out in Spain. Our waitress, Paris, was fantastic super sweet, attentive, and just had such a fun, genuine energy. She made the whole experience even better. Now the food... absolutely amazing. The broccolini was perfectly charred and seasoned easily a 10/10. The tomato bread was simple but so good, crisp and fresh. The grilled octopus stole the show tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And the carpaccio? Buttery, light, and beautifully balanced. Overall, everything hit great food, great service, and a lively atmosphere. Definitely one of my new favorite spots for tapas and good vibes.

Had a free day to wander around DC, so we hit a few museums and wound up here looking for an early happy hour on a rainy day. We had a seat at the end of a quiet bar and ordered a couple of gimlets and some tapas. The service was friendly and the food came out at a nice pace. We began chatting and eating and drinking and before we knew it, the place was jam packed and we were 3 drinks and 7 tapas in. What a wonderful way to cap off an afternoon in the city, and the price was right at under $70 before tip!

Great Experience! We stopped into Barcelona wine bar last week and had a great experience! In discussing the food, literally everything we had was wonderful. We had the sheep's cheese, bravas, caponata, dates, carpaccio, bone marrow, croquettes, flank steak, pan con tomate, olives, pork belly and figs. We also had a dirty martini and the sangria as well as a bottle of wine. Quite literally everything we had to eat, and drink was phenomenal, and there was not a singular complaint. We were a huge party, and normally this translates to poor service. However, the service was impeccable. Ambience of Barcelona wine bar is great as well. It's the perfect blend of modern sophistication and comfortability. If you're looking for a great dinner in DC I can't recommend Barcelona wine bar highly enough. From the food to the service to the ambience everything is great and I will 100% be coming back next time I'm in DC.

Second time here this month and it has quickly become a favorite. The food is incredible and the wait staff is extremely knowledgeable on all the ingredients used. We have a gluten free friend in our group and they were extremely attentive to her allergy. Their drinks are very good, love the sangria. The tapas style makes it easy to try multiple things, and everything has amazing flavor. I've heard that once it gets late the bar area gets very lively, so I'll be checking that out soon. My new go-to place with friends and family!

One of the best charcuterie boards I've had
    John J.

This place is a lot of fun, but also a lot of chaos. Tread carefully! We arrived at 8:46 for an 8:45 reservation - Knowing that this place is historically known for giving away your table, we called an uber to get here. That's a bit on us. But, we weren't seated until close to 9:30, and we weren't alone there. Not on us... My favorite part of the evening, and the thing that I recommend the most, is the white wine sangria. It's delicious, fruity and refreshing. My second favorite part is the charcuterie board, with a perfect spread to share that satisfies all taste buds. I loved the olives and the eggplant spread the most. The patatas bravas are noteworthy, too. We ordered ~14 tapas for four people, and ended up with only 10 total. As things failed to come out, we asked to simply cancel them. I'd recommend 2-3 per person overall. The place is huge, and the waiters are definitely doing their best, but I'd recommend a few more runners or servers to avoid some of the bumping, the rushing, or forgetfulness. It adversely contributed to an otherwise fun experience. Would I go back? Perhaps for charcuterie and a glass of sangria, but only on a weeknight or early evening.

The way to describe my experience here in one word is chaos. If I were to come here again, it'd be a weekday or afternoon type of thing. Came here for an 8:45pm reservation and it took 30 minutes to get our seats. The place was absolutely packed and everything just seemed hectic and smooshed. Waiters are aggressively pushing past you, people barely have room to move, and the focus is on getting you out there. Our server also took our bread away before we were finished. Speaking to their menu, they have a lot of hits and some misses (would give a 4/5). Highlights included: - Their charcuterie board that comes with a bunch of different appetizers. The best thing I had was the patatas bravas- they came out piping hot and crispy, and had both a garlic mayo on top and a tomato sauce at the bottom so you were getting something different in each bite. It also came with these nuts that I enjoyed, and eggplant that was perfectly cooked and wellll flavored l. Also classic meats and cheeses. Get this! - Sheep's cheese- they had this whipped goat cheese spread that was one of our favorite dishes of the night. It had a nice sweetness to it and it felt refreshing in a way. Some misses -Smoked Hummus: it was way too smoky that it was overpowering -cauliflower: This dish was too spicy and kind of just tasted like a buffalo cauliflower

Not saying that dining companions are distracting, but I felt like I could fully experience the flavor of both the Taglioni Neri and Gnocchi, both half portions at $10 each, better on my own. When the dishes came, I saw that the sauces were both red and feared they would taste too similar. After one fork full of each, they are quite clearly distinct. The standout in the Neri were the shellfish for me. Even though they were small bits, the pieces tasted fresh. In the Gnocchi, the saltiness of the prosciutto, though not overwhelming, paired well with the basil sauce. I finished a little more than half of each plate before boxing it up for a small lunch the next day. The service was great and the tall ceiling and windowed dining room provided a nice atmosphere. It was a cloudy and rainy Memorial Day, but I wondered what the sunlight looked like shining through those high windows. How lovely a space they have created to enjoy fine Italian dining in.

If you want to sop up your sauce with bread, don't forget to order the breadbasket! Staff were friendly and checked-in on our party throughout our dining experience; the place is cozy and vibrant, and seems to be pretty popular. I'd be curious to try their HH on the next visit! +French bistro eats +shareables +friendly staff & service

I enjoyed their happy hour rosé and how spacious it was inside. Beyond that I also loved how kind the bartender was. Because I was staying in a hotel nearby, he gave me helpful and thorough recommendations on his favorite local places to eat. If ever I'm staying in this area again, I'd be sure to pop in here for a drink or two. Would definitely recommend it to others.

The whole vibe is immaculate, with dark walls, dim lighting, and a great playlist, which all sets a very welcoming atmosphere. They have one of the best happy hours in town. M-F until 7, you can get incredible deals. You can get chicken or BLT sliders for $3.50 apiece, and reduced priced stuffed mushrooms, too. The $5 whipped feta comes with a big side of potato chips. These are small bites, but for very small prices. Food specials on a happy hour menu always get me excited. The chicken sliders were the consensus fave and will definitely be our go to. The drink deals are even better, though. I had a delicious old fashioned for just $7, and for round 2, the preparadas up is amazing. It is a bright red draft milk punch that is a little sweet, a little tart, with gin, lime, a touch of spice, and a sour candy garnish. Very fun, but very delicious, too. And it packs a punch. Plenty of other options are discounted, too. If you are reading this during the government shutdown, they have additional shutdown deals (available for everyone, all day), so it's almost like all day happy hour. Don't miss it!

Just a heads up. ;) Service: I received an incorrect order by an accident, and when I went back, they fixed the mistake quickly. Staff were friendly even though I arrived there after their closing hour. Ambiance: there is a bar area, left side when entered the restaurant, and a dining area on the right. Both parts are well spaced out to have a meal comfortably.

I visited on a Friday around 6:30 PM and sat at the bar to catch the end of happy hour (Mon-Sun 5-7 PM). The bar was empty at the time, but a few other people showed up later. The dining room had a handful of tables occupied. In short, easy to get a seat. Drinks were good. I like the Somaek ($6) which is a small beer and a shot of soju. Beer ($7) was beer. We got some beef and pork mandu (dumplings) that were pretty good. 6 pieces for $10 on HH. We got two entrees, the Ddukbokgi ($28) and Yukgaejang ($29), which came with four banchan. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.
