Convenient to public transportation and some decent parking options a few blocks away. Good restaurants in the area (Like Don Chingon). Plenty of NYPD presence so you feel safe in a very busy urban environment. Only knock, as others have mentioned is the concessions inside are crazy expensive. 1 Corona & 1 Jack n Coke " $28.50. Came to Barclays for a Brooklyn Nets game and came away very impressed with how nice this new arena is. However, there were a couple of things that I didn't like about this arena. Not wanting to spend a whole lot of money for Nets tickets, I bought some cheap last minute nosebleed seats in the upper level (Section 200's). The seats up there gives the term "nosebleeds seats" a whole new meaning. Okay, here are my issues with my experience at Barclays: First off, going up the stairs in the upper level is like climbing a very steep mountain. Also, there is absolutely NO LIGHTS in this part of the arena, so walking up those stairs can be very dangerous because you can't see where you going. Secondly: now while the seats are nice and cushioned (and pretty comfortable), what I didn't like about it is that for a 6 foot tall dude, there wasn't much leg room when sitting (true story: the dude sitting in front of me fell asleep during the game and was tilting his head back where it seemed like I was tea bagging him). Even if you stood up to let people get through to their seats, there isn't much room for them to maneuver around you to get to their seats. One bad move, and you can be tumbling down to Jay-Z's legs down on the court (I kid, I kid). Other than those issues, I thought the arena was NICE! When you walk in before you go through security, it feels like you're walking into a club. Got a chance to walk around the concourse up in the 200's and on the main concourse and came away VERY impressed with how nice it is and how much food option there was. The food price is pretty much what you would expect at a professional sporting event. The staff there were all helpful and friendly. I went to the Barclays Center for the first US White Sensation and I will have to say, the Barclays Center is one of the best venues that I have been to yet! The staff was extremely well trained, professional, and offered excellent customer service. Because the stadium/arena is new, everything was spick and span too (I hope it stays that way)! There were plenty of food stands and the food was actually really good. Stadium/arena food is generally poor quality, but the hot links that I tried from the Barclay's had a nice snap and flavor to them. My friends and I had VIP tickets, so we had special access to the restaurant upstairs and the private bar room downstairs. Both the restaurant and the private bar room were very spacious and had very clean modern decor. The sound system and production was amazing, which makes me wish that there were more stadium/arenas of this caliber! P.S. The Barclay's Center is conveniently located at the Atlantic Avenue (B, D, N, R, 2, 3, 4, 5) transit station! read more

Disappointed is an appropriate choice of words for having high hopes for a Brooklyn venue. Parking - Parking is available online for a range of $18 - $30. We paid $24 and our lot was about 2 blocks away. Sort of sketchy. I didn't hate the parking, but I didn't like feeling like I was so vulnerable on the walk there. I felt like a target screaming "I'm going to a concert so you know I have money on me! Come and get it!" The venue - As far aesthetics, I didn't care for the rusted outside. Inside it was standard affair except it felt more like a shopping mall than an arena. The staff - Useless. We were in the 200 section dead center. When we arrived there they had closed that whole section and moved us down and to the left. It didn't feel like an upgrade, let's leave it at that. But it was deceptive for sure. Also it took the ushers 3 times to properly seat us, and that was only accomplished after asking for a supervisor. All and all, it just wasn't worth it. I'd rather go to the garden anyday. It doesn't seem large enough to fit hockey but if they could pull it off it might be suitable for the islanders to move to. edit: Publishing today, but the last sentence was written prior to the Islanders announcing their move. Mr. Joy brought me to Barclays Center since he won tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters. The game was alright. I give them an A for their acrobatic skills and efforts in humor, but maybe could improve the entertainment factor a bit more. We sat in one of the suites. The seats are nice and comfortable. It was also nice to have empty seats next to us. At first, I didn't know we were sitting in a suite, so after many different kind staff members guided us through elevators and walked through the endless suite level floor, I was pleasantly surprised. The elevator attendants are also very helpful. The food selection is not bad. Typical expensive stadium food ... burgers, sausages, hot dogs, fries, sodas, combinations of the aforementioned. Although, they seem to have other options too, like Southern, Cuban, Mexican, etc. It would have been nice if the food vendors on the suite level were open, but I understand that it was not a particularly busy day, so I guess it wouldn't have been worth it for them to open the rest of the establishments. Good thing the bar outside of our suite was open. The walk to the main concourse and back was a bit far. I didn't mind that since it was our first time at this stadium, so it was nice to explore. Plus, the venue itself is quite clean and spacious. NYC really makes you appreciate clean, large spaces. read more

Caught the second to last regular season game of the season for the Brooklyn Nets. I found Barclay pretty cool. Lots of LED lighting everywhere. Food and bevs are pricey, but then again I expected this. I found it to be a few steps up from some of the other sporting events I've seen in North America. The Nets got killed by the Bulls, but still really enjoyed watching my first regular season NBA. Great stadium, fun NBA action. read more

I love the lounge-y feel of Barclays Center. I prefer this arena over Madison Square Garden in terms of atmosphere, but MSG has improved over the last couple of years with its renovations. I've come here for Nets games as well as a concert. Seating in the 200's section is really steep, so you're not really getting a terrible view from anywhere. I don't recommend sitting way far up in the back though... Getting inside was a bit slow and could definitely be more efficient. MSG does this better for basketball games. Yes, it's in Brooklyn, but it's super convenient and there are so many lines that get into Atlantic-Barclays. read more

Came here for Monday Night Raw on 3/24/14. Had seats in the front row of the Mondavi suite (aka Red Room). View was awesome. The food was alright, not many options. We got boneless buffalo wings and a burger. The wings were good, burger was eh. Cups for soda were teeny tiny. The place itself was nice and clean - bathrooms were clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. It was smaller than MSG but still a great place. Parking was tough - looked for parking for about 20 minutes and finally found a spot about 6 blocks away. Can't wait to come see a Nets game. read more

I finally stepped foot into Brooklyn's electrifying arena! I recently went to watch a Nets game with my sister, and our boyfriends and although the Nets didn't win, I still had a great experience at the Barclays Center. Getting through security wasn't bad. The staff was very friendly and if you had questions about the arena, food, or needed assistance; they're ready to answer and help you! Since the arena is suppose to be the newest and hottest thing in Brooklyn, I was hoping that the decor would have more of a Brooklyn-feel and decor to it. The arena was covered mostly in gray, blue, and black. The food was the best part! We had an all-access pass which means we were entitled to unlimited food & drinks, except for non-alcoholic drinks and concession stands. There's a tremendous amount of food places to check out at Barclays Center. Unfortunately, I didn't try all the food stands here, but the best one I tried that I liked was Fatty Cue! Had an amazing beef brisket with macaroni & cheese. Absolute comfort food goodness! The court itself wasn't as big as MSG. The seats weren't very roomy. The view of the game from our seats was good since we had seats near the court. If your visiting Brooklyn, I highly recommend you visit the Barclays center at least once. It is conveniently located just a step from NYC's biggest transit hub.The Barclays Center has added a significant value to Brooklyn and NYC itself. read more

One fact I really like about the Barclays is that compared to MSG, the upper level seating at Barclays is closer to the action because the incline is steep. I've enjoyed a few Nets and Islander games in the center upper level areas. But the one thing I like about Barclays is it's own kryptonite for concerts. Because of the arena's steepness, your view to the stage/video screens may be blocked by hanging PA speakers and lighting trusses. Pro tip for concerts: dish out for floor, lower bowl tickets, or first 5 rows of upper level. There's a lot of unwanted reverb in the seats up top because of all the sound buildup below. The energy is not up at the top and you mostly hear mush. read more

Saw The Who last night, and I must say, I was very happy. It's much better than MSG. The interior reminds me a bit of the Prudential Center in Newark, but it had a good layout and it's damned convenient to get to via subway. My only issue last night was that PATH is still not running past 10PM due to the flooding, so we drove into Manhattan, found a street space, and hopped on the 2. Every single employee we encountered was courteous, friendly, smiling and happy. That's rare. Loved that all the eateries are from Brooklyn, and was very happy to see L & B Spumoni Gardens in the mix. There's a lot of entrance and exit points to the seats making crowd control easier. The very courteous usher for our section let us know that the 100 section could use the bathroom and food concessions on the box level, which was nice. Sound was fantastic. My only very minor complaint was that some of the hanging light equipment blocked some of the monitor views over the stage. We were on an angle, in section 108. Seats were comfortable. I was surprised to see an entirely gluten-free food stand, too. Too large? Nah. I like my concerts in large spaces. The Garden needs to be redesigned. Between the Pru in Newark and Barclay's in Brooklyn, I doubt I'll be buying tickets to much at the Garden in the future. read more

The staff here is incredibly nice. And funny too. Every single person I talked to engaged in a conversation with me, and it was just refreshing. Especially in a huge venue like that. I came here to see Mumford & Sons, and couldn't get General Admission tickets, so I was sitting up in a 200-level section. I would definitely NOT pay money again to sit up there for a live show. It's a pretty bad venue for a concert if you're not standing on the floor by the stage. Food is pricey, like any venue like this. But they have an awesome selection of local vendors. It's new, so everything is pretty nice and seemed clean. The seats are really tight, though and there's not much room between you and the row in front of you, so that was kind of annoying. Upon exiting Atlantic Station, I was instantly struck by the beautiful stadium. The beautiful outdoor LCD wrap-around display is an ode to technology. The stadium has free wi-fi which doesn't have a password and it's also blazing fast. Rumor has it that the stadium plans to allow users to order from their seat via the Barclays Center app. It would be really cool if implemented. I attended a basketball game and it was a great experience. Seats are comfy, food is all local brooklyn and the stadium staff is helpful and professional. If you're a basketball fan, even if you don't root for the nets, you should definitely visit this stadium. Barclays Center may not have the history of MSG, but it sure has the cutting edge modern thing going for it. I'm a fan! read more

Gorgeous new stadium. I am so glad that they made this thing. And it's done nothing whatsoever to effect the traffic, contrary to all of the past complaints. The interior is unrivaled. Brand spanking new. All of the seating is very comfortable and spacious. Great bars inside, and the food you can get inside is actually rather good. Not your typical stadium type food. Lastly, it's super, super easy to get to from anywhere. There's like 10 subway lines that stop here. Madison Square Garden beware. I think the Barclays Center may defintiely be your worst nightmare, frankly because it blows you away. Ahem. read more

I have only been here so far for Islanders games. The Barclays Center is a really nice venue, but I miss the barn. Taking the train in to the games you will here most fans complaining on the way in and way home how they miss the Islanders playing at the Coliseum. The last game I went to I was front row center ice and it was great. I wish I could sit here every game. VIP access to the Calvin Klein and billboard lounges and a personal wait staff to bring you whatever you want right to your seats. The food in the Calvin Klein lounge was good and there was just enough to choose from. I had the steak, sushi, burger and hot dogs and also grabbed some popcorn to bring back to my seat. They also had bowls filled with chips, wasabi peas, pretzels and candies. Make sure you go and eat before the 3rd quarter because they swap out the food and change over to dessert. read more

Came here for a 92.3 concert where Ne-yo was the headliner. Really thought that the staff were perfectly placed throughout and outside the arena. They were helpful and attentive. Box Office staff where I had to leave some tickets for a friend were polite and welcoming. From the outside, this place looks like it's forever under construction however, this is a great looking arena. I would definately come again and a huge kudos on hiring amazing staff. Great New York stadium. Been here a few times for different shows and it's always been great. The stadium is huge and most seats have good views. The subway station has lots of trains that come here which is good. There's lots of restaurants (both quick and sit down) in the area if you want to get dinner before or after a show. There's also a mall across the street. Inside, you pass security and then there's concession stands, bathrooms are nice, and there's outlets along some of the walls if you need to charge your phone. The security and staff are nice. I only give it 4 and not a 5 because as someone who lives in Manhattan, the commute is sometimes too much to get all the way to Brooklyn. I've seen shows that end after 1am and I didn't get home until 3 those nights (took subway). It can be inconvenient for non-Brooklyners but during the show, you'll have an awesome time read more

I thought this place was pretty cool and well laid out. I've been to New York several times but this time I was visiting as a tourist. So, my sister and I decided to add some local sporting events to our schedule. We actually got decent seats for about $30. I didn't really feel like there were any "nose-bleed" seats. I had never been to a hockey game before and we sat in the home team section which added to the experience. New Yorkers statistically have a great passion for their teams and sitting at this hockey game was no exception. You really can't help but chime in with the chants as the section we sat in kept the chants coming for the entirety of the game. Add a couple of adult beverages to the mix and everyone kind of becomes friends. Overall, the game was all right. It was the ambiance and the people that actually made coming to the game worthwhile. It also wasn't super hard to get out of the building after it was over. Dare I say it was one of the most orderly exits I've seen in a long while, even with a bunch of drunks. The center is close to public transportation and of course there were lines of Uber/Lyft/etc waiting outside. So if you are going to get super drunk, at least you can do it somewhat responsibly by ordering a ride to take you home. read more

I've been to Barclays Center twice, once for a college basketball tournament to see UCLA vs Georgetown and once to see the Lakers vs. Nets. Barclays is super convenient due to its proximity to the Subway and LIRR and a pretty good venue to watch sports/attend other events. The college basketball tournament was interesting because it was a doubleheader. Most of the Indiana fans left before the UCLA game and most UCLA and Georgetown fans showed up only for the second game. The staff at Barclays did a good job of making sure fans leaving/arriving did not ruin the game for those already in their seats. Their managing of the crowd led to everyone enjoying the game and getting to cheer on their team. For the Nets game, the staff was a lot more in their groove. We had a large group of Lakers fans watching the game and they let us in the back entrance and led us to our seats. We had made some signs and after ensuring they met regulations, let us take them in. It was a great game especially as the Lakers won and the venue was part of what made everything fun. Barclays is definitely going for a classy vibe and they do achieve it. It is a pretty nice venue to watch sports. Most of the games I have gone to have been at the Staples Center which I actually prefer, but I have no major complains about Barclays. Lots of food and drink options. The food and drink prices are somewhat decent- when you go to a game, especially in a big city, I think you expect to pay a lot. Keeping that in mind, I would say Barclays is on the average-high average price range of similar places. The lines are not terrible because of the many options and because the staff keeps things moving. The one thing I will say about the food and drinks is I wish the different stands had the same beer selection. I understand different places selling different types of food but more consistency on the drinks would make things less complicated. I also did not understand why a few places were cash only (there is a no fee ATM but still) while others weren't. Still, it is obvious that everyone involved in building and working at Barclays Center knows what they are doing. Good place to watch your favorite team or attend a concert. read more

I want to preface this review by acknowledging the fact that all of my criticisms about Barclays will come off as #firstworldproblems. This is due to the fact that my first outing here was in a private suite (as a company team outing for Mumford & Sons). On with the review! Size/Seating: -This place is so much bigger than it looks on the outside. So there's tons of seating. But I don't think I'd ever want to be in that pit. It's the basketball court and then some. -The B level suites are kind of tiny (only 9 stadium seats in the one I was in), so plan accordingly. -For concerts, I can't believe they actually sell upper bowl seats for the area behind the stage. You literally can't even see the musicians, and there are no monitors or anything. I'd be pissed if I paid for those tickets. Sound: -The sound system is pretty good for a big arena. But I think the sound guys were slacking off for the second act because it was definitely too loud. Ringing ears used to be a badge of honor, but there's really no excuse for that in stadium shows these days. Food: -The catering options for the box were just kind of like bar food. Chicken fingers, nachos, sandwiches, salad. Pretty standard stuff. In the suites, there are hot plates to keep everything warm, so you don't have to worry about eating quickly. The pulled pork nachos were alright, but the cheese dip was really soupy and not cheesy at all. Due to a mix up, we also had regular nachos, which came with a nice spread of Brooklyn Salsa company salsas. Nice that they support local business. We also had brats with hot dog buns. The buns were cold, and were typical supermarket ones. Nothing to write home about, but the brats were pretty good. Staff: -The staff member taking our orders and bringing us food was a really nice guy named Devin. Everyone else who helped set up the food, etc. was really nice, and so was the floor staff. Maybe it was just because they thought we were VIPs, who knows? Sights: -They definitely had cameras filming the main act, but did not broadcast the feed on the TVs in the box, which was weird. Our box was also at an angle to the stage, so we could only see part of the front jumbotron. Not the best viewing experience, but I'm sure with the games (and the multitude of sports channels available on the TVs), it'd be completely fine. Final Gripes: -I live 3 blocks away. If my rent increases because of Barclays, I'm going to be mad. read more

I guess I could be wrong about this, but I never figured Yelp reviews to be a place to pick up dudes. My recent Barclays Center experience was to attend a Brooklyn Nets game on a Friday night. You know, when you would expect there to be a lot of fan enthusiasm. It was dead. Sorry Jessica T. (3/10/2015) but if this is "electrifying" then I have a morgue I can take you to. The atmosphere at the Barclays Center was horrible. I suspect that one of the major issues the Brooklyn Nets (and the NY Knicks at MSG) have is that everything is so corporate that anyone who can afford seats now are unlikely to be the loud, go-team-go kind of a fan. I saw a whole lot of people on their cell phones, or just talking to their friends. Even when the announcer would encourage people to cheer on the team, his voice overpowered the not-even-close to sold out crowd. A second reason that I think the atmosphere was so lacking is the seating. The way that the seating is designed makes the upper bowl so far removed from the court/floor because of the slope of the lower bowl. The Barclays Center is beautiful to look at, but absolutely boring as heck inside. read more

I have heard so many lukewarm things about the Chelsea location that I lowered my expectations for this 40/40 at The Barclays center. I admit I was pleasantly surprised at the great taste of the food and the attentiveness of the staff. The buffet is your best bet as you get to try several options instead of ordering individual items from the menu. Got to love Jr's cheesecake for dessert. I was lucky enough to come upon 100 level seating tickets. I could not believe how close to the action I was. I walked around and seemed that the views from upper level seating was very satisfactory. Had a good time here, and it was a great experience. Lapin and I came here for our first hockey game. There was a line to get in but it went pretty quickly. Like most stadiums, we had to pass a metal detector and our bags were checked. We had nosebleed seats and apparently the opposite end of where we came in. The center is populated with restaurants and fun things (I got my face painted for free that night) along with free giveaways. I can't speak for the other seats but our seats had barely any leg room and we had to get up every single time someone wanted to get out. We had a hard time seeing the game, but there was a jumbo screen up top. The food prices were a bit on the high side, so I would suggest eating before your visit. read more

Don't typically review venues but wanted to add my two cents in. First time at the Barclay's Center to watch the Islanders in their first year in Brooklyn (not a fan, just would rather see them than the Nets). Semi excited to see what offerings they had in contrast to MSG (who got a solid makeover). Lots of beer stalls, Calexico (awesome Mexican joint, yet limited menu in arena), Nathan's, and some generic food stops. First off, the beer is EXPENSIVE. Holy shit, $13 for a Coors? No thank you, I will soberly watch my hockey game. I know things are marked up at arenas, yet that's some next-level price gouging. Settled on a snack since most places had generic stuff - $5.50 for chocolate covered animal crackers. Got okay seats up in level 207 at center ice. Seating can be treacherous as one wrong step can send you hurdling several rows ahead. Seats themselves are quite comfortable though small. I think the biggest thing that stands out here is when you sit down....the big screen isn't aligned to the center of the ice. Don't think I've ever seen that at another stadium. Is it the same for Nets games too? I'd like to say that the view is decent given all the previously mentioned. I was able to follow the game pretty easily and the fans are really into the game. That said, I'm hankering for another MSG visit. read more

I must say, all in all it was a good experience at the Barclays. Very easy to get to and very organized. Security was quick and to the point- unlike some other venues that can be very intrusive. The food vendor options were awesome! The beer- not so much. We were in the upper level and while the sight line was good, there was NO leg room at all. None. You could barely squeeze down the aisle. Thank goodness we were on the aisle which I would totally recommend! It was very steep and seemed like you could easily trip over the cup holder and tumble right over the railing if you had a few too many. I really enjoyed myself at Barclays center. I went on Friday for the Bulls v Nets game (I'm a Bulls fan) and we had a great time. Our seats were pretty far up, but still a great view of the game and all the happenings on the court. I loved the popular rap music playing during the game. It made for an all around good time. The arena really has a new and contemporary feeling to it (obviously, it is new). They have really great food vendors and the lines move pretty fast. The prices are on par for any event space (overpriced), but worth it for the experience . Though I went to see the Bulls play while they were in town, I would love to go back for any game just for fun! One thing: Watch out for the cup holders that are located on the floor behind the seat backs. When you're walking down the aisles to get to your seat, they are very hard to see and can easily cause tripping. read more

Beautiful facility, obviously brand new everything. Most of the concession stands are positioned all around the arena, some with see through views. The mid level seats that I had for the Nets vs. Lakers game were really cramped and the aisles were really narrow. Just getting into our row in the dark was tough, if you lose your balance, you're falling on top of rows of people and cracking your skull open! Before we even trekked to our seats, we had to get some eats first! Passed by paisano Burger, but with the name, we figured pizza would be better for a paisano, so moved on! Saw Boomer and Cartons Kitchen, since I'm a huge WFAN fan, had to have their signature Batchagaloop Burger, asked if it came with fries. And the girl said, yeah...two!...I said...two? Two fries? She said..yes...two fries!!! I'm like, ok whatever....I need a side of fires! Two burgers, two fries, and two drinks...$51!!! Burger...eh! The two fries stuck inside the burger, good, the two huge chicken fingers stuck inside..eh! Barclays center 4 stars, boomer and cartons kitchen 2 stars! If I had a choice between a Big Mac meal or a batchagaloop burger...Big Mac all the way! Yeah..nothing special..actually wasn't that good, but filled me up for sure! For $51, I could have bought my whole section a Big Mac meal! Maybe I should have tried paisanos after all! Boomer and Carton should stick to talk radio. read more

All good here. Building itself is cool looking both inside and outside. Everyone who you encounter is very friendly. Very good signage making finding your seats a breeze. Easiest venue to get to in the city with practically every subway line stopping there. Good consessions with short lines. I even had a representative call me on game day and met us at our seats mid-game to ask how we liked the experience. The only downside was the game we saw was a blow-out so it was kind of dull. Nets look good, but they are so old I fear they won't get far in the playoffs. read more

I've wanted to visit Barclays Center since it opened a year ago, and I finally had the perfect reason: Justin Timberlake! I live in Brooklyn, technically within walking distance of Barclays, so I was really excited to head over there knowing that it would only take me 15 minutes to get there. The subway comes out right in front of the stadium...so convenient (though oh, so crowded at the end of the show, as expected). The main lobby is really large with metal detectors just before the Will Call and Box Office. There are tons of food vendors including a Spumoni Gardens pizza place. The bathrooms are pristine, with no-touch toilets (instead of a button to push or a level to flush, you wave your hand over the top...amazing). Beer was expensive...I was prepared for a $10 Bud Light, but it was about $12.50. And they do serve cocktails, too, which was fun and surprising. The stadium is much more intimate than MSG, but still large. The main floor area is large, with plenty of seating around the sides and up into the higher bleachers (where things get a little steep). And there are gorgeous boxes/suites, of course. The seats are even comfortable...firm but cushioned! I can't wait to go back for a Nets game now! read more
