Our house hit with a Tornado with significant damage to the outside of the home and associated areas like fencing, roofing, windows, turf, etc. We knew we would need help to deal with the insurance carrier. A neighbor recommended a public adjuster, Rich Elliot, from Barclays and we were glad for that referral. He knew how to negotiate with the carrier and politely asked me to let him do his job and stay out of the mix. To make a long story short, he got us a a great settlement and was very good at negotiating even the smallest details. Barclays rate was very reasonable and his fee was easily covered by he final payments we received. P This review is based on my experience with Barclays public adjusters and the staff that work for them the language in this review is not meant to defame but meant to explain and bring light to the situation and explain it from my experience which I have the right to do. Barclays just had a lawyer call me and threatened me because I used the word fraud and robbery. I have the right to describe my experience the way that I felt it saw and experienced it! I will not be removing this review nor will I be modifying my experience or silencing my cries for help because what's completely outrageous is this was not brought up until I reported the insurance lawyer to the bar as well as mentioned Barclays public adjusters in my complaint you will not silence me you do not scare me! Barclays public adjusters mold claim was denied and I had to file a new mold claim with the lawyer later on and Barclays got a percentage of that. Which they should not have they had nothing to do with that they were unable to operate and move my case forward with my insurance company they failed and still got paid. -------------------------- I will happily see you in court! Barclays was put on to handle my claim with my insurance company after months of them unable to get the insurance company to cooperate with a court order and Diane telling me to just sign my husband's name on the check and give it to the bank. Which would be "fraud."(I will not be removing this because Diane poulsen in fact did tell me to go to the bank & my ex-husband's name on the check)-(this has been documented through several instances) Finally I hired an insurance attorney. Now that I am receiving payment Barclays is still receiving their full percentage which is wrong and from the language that I know I consider this to be "robbery."(Maybe not by force but by contract manipulation )"or in the professional stance possibly misappropriation of client funds.. if you can handle a homeowners insurance claim on your own just do it don't involve any additional parties they will "rob you blind" and your case will take up to a year for something so simple and by the time you get paid you won't even be able to make the repairs because these companies sucked it all up. Filed a claim before even knowing if a claim needed to be filed. Within a couple of hours a claim did NOT need to be filed which they proceeded to cancel. Because they filed a claim Alex failed to inform me that our claim history would be flagged and now we can no longer get quotes for lower homeowners insurance because we are now a "risk" even though there was never a issue but because they jumped the gun and filed a claim immediately we are now having to pay almost $2000.00 more for our homeowners insurance. Make sure there is indeed a claim to be filed before having Barclays file a claim. read more

Barclays was just awesome. Josh handled my claim quickly and professionally, keeping me apprised of the status throughout the entire claim process. My A/C leaked and caused damage to my floors, drywall and baseboards. The restoration company was at my home the day after the incident, about a week later they sent the inspector and estimator and within 60 days from the date of the damage, I had a settlement check in hand! Alex and Hilary were awesome. My mom had a horrible flood in her house. She was about to have heart surgery and on New years day she woke up to water all over her house. I live in Rhode island and I came there to help my mom thru her surgery, but I knew I was going to need help handling her flood. I found Barclays public adjusters looking it up on Google. I called Alex up and he got right to work. I really don't like giving numbers on a review site, but all I can say is Alex got my mom more money then I ever thought she would get from a flood claim. The one thing I learned is. I like to be notified constantly how things are going. I can beat pain in the butt. Before Rich Elliott educated me on what my insurance company responsibilities were I thought that if I had a leak I had to fix it out of pocket. My house was only a few years old and out of nowhere I noticed mold on top of my kitchen cabinet. Turns out the master bathroom valve had been defective and was slowly leaking from the 2nd to the 1st floor.
