I am a loyal customer to Bar Cocina due to the simple fact they offer unconditional hospitality. I was lucky enough to have Delilah as my server who went above and beyond for my table. She was extremely friendly and attentive and you will never see her without a smile. The food was delicious I highly suggest the guacamole and as for drinks you need to try their palomas! Me and my boyfriend went for brunch on a Saturday. They had a live Dj, music was cool. We both got chicken and waffles. The chicken was good but it need a bit of salt (lol that's just me) the waffles were very fluffy and soft . I also order a Bellini, I got my drink extremely sticky. I saw when the guy poured it all over and didn't take the time to clean it, seems like he was the manager I could be wrong. I also asked for a Paloma and it tasted bad.It was like a water down lemonade. They gave me the Paloma very messy as well. Pictures will be posted. My wife and I decided on going to this location where we celebrate her birthday last year. Well we got there we waited to be seated and waited and waited and no one came even the guy that was chatting and laughing talking to some customers didn't care to see us standing there waiting. Some of the customers at the bar turned and looked at us how we continued to wait so we just left because we are not gonna say anything loud and bother other people. We were very disappointed we've been here many times but this was totally unacceptable hope you guys learn to improve your hosting services. read more

I am giving two stars based on our experience with our server Abby otherwise it would be zero. She was kind, patient, and accommodating. As for the food 0/10 it was either cold or under cooked which seems completely unreasonable considering you're paying $16 for ONE tostada. We had a reservation for a group of 7 every meal was cold, under cooked, or both. We considered ourselves lucky if the issue was cold food and simply ate it. The music was lively and the drinks were good however I don't see myself returning for a meal anytime soon. came in for a quick bite to eat tonight and ended up staying for hours because the bartender Kris and the manager Anna were so fun! they had great recommendations, I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for. Went for taco Tuesday deal with a friend and took 50+ minutes to even get our first taco. Throughout the night each time between "bottomless" tacos took excessively long. Honestly wish we would have gotten up and left after waiting so long for our first tacos. Absurd to pay $40 when you only get one taco in a hour. My mother wanted to go to a patio for her birthday and we found this huge beautiful patio in west town. I had the best time here! My server (Mary) was so friendly and so polite. The food here is good I had the hanger steak quesadilla and the pesto chicken is awesome as well. I loved all the drinks I had. Happy hour was super affordable. So we went to Barcocina yesterday and the experience was horrible. I'm not sure if it was because of the promotion they did with KenInChicago (mention her name and receive a free margarita flight) but I've been before and it was nothing like this. We were told we could not order due to a 2hr delay once we were ready to order. This was not told to us by the hostess or by the waitress the first time she came by and brought us water (we didn't see her for another 30 minutes). We actually had reservations but despite being backed up, the staff kept seating people. When the waitress finally came back (after asking 3 staff members for her) she explained the back up and apologized. From there, we each (3 of us) ordered the flight with the promotion. To our surprise, we only received 2 flights and were told it was 1 flight per 2 people (despite seeing otherwise on other tables). Once we tasted the margaritas we knew it was time to go. They were extremely watered down and again, not sure if this was because of the promotion but we've had drinks before and they tasted nothing like yesterday. All in all, I feel they were overwhelmed with the number of people there. I will not be going back though because we asked to speak to a manager at least 4 times and no one ever came. To me that is extremely dismissive and I don't care to patron a restaurant who doesn't understand the importance of customer service. read more

at first i would've given this place a 0. we walked in, got taken to our table, and got ZERO attention. no water, one menu for 5 people, and no idea who even worked here. finally after about 10 min a server (Sky) came up to us asking if we wanted any drinks in a way that made us feel rushed. she took 4/5 of our drink orders and walked away without writing anything down. Then we got another server (delilah) who came and said she was gonna take care of us instead. I live in the neighborhood and brought my dog to the patio for a quick drink and apps. My boyfriend and I thought they had great service and the patio (or the inside bar) is perfect for drinks! Dora and Marissa gave great service, so friendly and attentive. My recommendations are "the juice" cocktail and the lavender marg. The birria appetizer was good as well. Only one word to say...wow. I flew in recently with my mother from California & was told to stop by here if I was looking for a fun laid back atmosphere, and I was not let down! The food was absolutely amazing, I had the bang bang shrimp and my mom had the braised brisket I may be biased but everyone needs to try those two for sure. The manager Adam came by and chatted with us and eventually ended up recommending I tried the 'lavender fields' cocktail, I ended up having 2 more after the first. We sat on the patio by one of their many fire pits after we finished our meals & it was truly a beautiful experience. We sat for quite some time and the staff didn't make us feel like we were imposing on their space, all of our food items came out swiftly and of high quality.
